  1. Dr. Blake (still cool to call you Dr + First Name hehe). I think you are very gifted and passionate, although you have been somewhat new at HT, I think your recommendation is 100% warranted. I for one support your recommendation. On a side note, what specialty did you match into after med school and where? (you can PM me if you don't want to post in public)
  2. There have been quiet a few doctors removed over the years. But hsrp gave you a good idea about listing them and see which doctor's name get sensored.
  3. Hi Stig, I was quoting MY OWN case. I live in AZ so $1500 was an approximate price for the flight from PHX to Turkey.
  4. Milo, Let's do simple math. Armani's FUE prices differ from person to person. On average he quotes about $6-8 per graft. So lets assume to be on the lower side of $6. I need about 3500 grafts. So here it goes: Armani/Baubac Price $6/graft 3500 * 6 = $21,000 Hotel (3 nights) at around $100 per night, Total = $21,300 Erdogan: Price €2.50/graft (with current rate it is $2.70) 3500 * 2.5 = €8750 ($9437 USD) Flight $1500 Hotel (3 nights) is included in price of HT Total = $10,937 As you can see, it's about double. P.S. Feller still mostly does FUT. But you don't know if you even get Feller to operate on you. Dr. Blake Bloxham now works with Feller and does most of HTs.
  5. I would say all these results are on par with Dr. Edrogan and Edrogan charges far less money. I have been researching HT for the past 9 years. You can see my date of registration here. I'm going to Dr. Erdogan sometime in the summer. I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger 9 years ago (I was in my 30s) but waited to see how my hairloss stabilizes. Today I'm in my 40s and I'm still NW3ish. No meds. Dr. Feller was on my top list 9 years ago. I was considering him. But since then FUE became so much better, I'm no longer considering FUT. And Dr. Feller does only "touch up" or small FUE cases (according to his posts). Not to mention he charges $10 per graft for FUE.
  6. Milo, The amount of available grafts in reserve is not the reason to pack 100 per cm2. Future hairloss is hard to predict on a young guy (if he doesn't have an aggressive hair loss in his teens and 20s). Even when people look at their moms/dads side of relatives, they might end up losing more hair than their ancestors. There is no proved science to exactly estimate how much hair you would lose. Yes, you can make an estimated guess and still fall short. Then in your later years you will have a "packed" tuft in the front and nothing behind it. It would look just weird. That's why doctors have to account for the future. To be honest, Armani was always hit or miss for me. When he did FUT years ago, he did produce incredible results. As soon as he switched to FUE only, the results were not consistent. Some turn out great (mind you on guys who are 24-27 years old). But I have seen cases where he dense packed 4000 grafts into the front third on a 20 something and it looked see-through. So always think ahead. Just my $0.02
  7. I was thinking about "Self Mission to Mars" because it will cost me A LOT less. /end sacrasm/
  8. I think this is the most detailed write-up I've ever seen on any forum lol. Good for you man. With the amount of grafts for the area I think this should be a killer result. Good luck and grow well.
  9. I wonder who performed FLAP on his brain though.
  10. I will concur that pure operational cost of this site is not that much in a grand scheme of things. Only HTN knows their real traffic numbers BUT I can guess it fairly accurately. Alexa has HTN ranked at 111k . My site has a 60k alexa score. So I can guess pretty well what's required to run this site. My site with 680k registered users runs on 4 dedicated servers and I can probably consolidate it to 3 servers. P.S. not a stab at the mods of this site. Just a pure observation.
  11. As if we can't come up with the list of failed FUT. This sample is not complete. It's mostly anecdotal but keep pressing on.
  12. People shouldn't rely on IPs nowadays. There are literally thousands of free web proxies anyone can use to hide their IP (people who say: you can find out if you are using proxies don't know what they are talking about). Hakans work speaks for itself, I think Edrogan and Hakan are the best FUE doctors in the world (topped only by Lorenzo). The only explanation I would have for people with the same IP, is that it's possible that those people posted on forum from the clinic.
  13. Thanks for your response, makes sense. Did the doc say if you both have ability to come back later for a second pass to "finish it" ?
  14. Great results, I have a questions if you don't mind, what was the reason for for H&W to create a hairline without temple closure? I'm sure there was a reason for it and I'm not knocking the doc (I think he did a fantastic job), was just curious
  15. Thanks for sharing the news, here is a little more in-depth I found: PLoS Genetics: Cyclic Expression of Lhx2 Regulates Hair Formation
  16. Right on Bill, the only thing I would caution you is that, DO get prepared for 4.x version because all template work that you have done, you would have to completely re-do as new template system is NOT compatible with old 3.x version. Just a friendly reminder
  17. About time Bill CMS+vBulletin should work fine. I'm running a large vBulletin site (with 120k members) although it's on a newer version 4.0.3. Nevertheless, congrats, this revamp is way over due
  18. Do P90X....I just finished my first round and the results are PHENOMENAL. Its a kick-ass program, it is extremely hard but it works 100%. Check out youtube and just search for "p90x results". People just post videos (actually its more of a picture slide show) but you will get an idea of what it is. I haven't exercised for more than 15 years.. I wasn't fat but I had what I call a "skirt belly" that flops down. After 90 days, my stomach has a 4-packs (didnt get the 6-pack cause I didnt really diet)
  19. HairHope, I don't really want to sound negative but how did you end up having such a firm suggestion? You have no knowledge of how bald he is, his history, his age. What if this guy is in his early 20s with a SLIGHTLY receding hair line and 800 grafts should be enough to thicken it up. Or what if he is NW4-5 and even 1200 will not be enough. Not saying you are wrong, just saying there are many factors you didn't account for.
  20. I too work in IT industry, I write programs for the past 15 years...but I'm the opposite I don't let ANYTHING put me down. It's all in your head brother. Over the years, I've worked for many corporate america companies and I do agree that most times the job can be extremely stressful but I can assure you, it's all about how you approach the problem. As far as hair, since you said that you have been to hair loss sites for the past few years, you probably gathered enough evidence to suggest that you can get that fixed (of course I don't really know what your NW level is). You work out - THAT'S GREAT. Keep it up. As far as friends, don't be afraid to get social with people, I know it's hard but instead of saying "I CAN'T" say "I'm currently struggling with", live you life to the fullest, it is VERY SHORT. Sorry for the lecture, just my $0.02
