    • Probably 6k-7k. For any NW5 or above, it's always the holy trinity: Zarev, Pittella, and Sethi.
    • Hi All I’ve been reading through the forum a while now and finally made an account ha. So I’ve hit that point where I want to pull the trigger on getting a hair transplant as it’s reached that okay I think it’s time point. i have been following the journey of a lot of your guys cases! Some are just wow. You’d never have thought it was possible.   I was on fin but ultimately got sides. Idk if it was in my head but it was fine a few months then boom. Bad moods, feeling down and borderline depressed among the other side effects.  Which sucks!  Now use minoxidil however.    I understand that given the circumstance I will likely need more than one procedure and have to go again at some point in the future.  I do feel I have realistic expectation on what I want, a conservative hairline and I’m okay with using fibers to enhance the look.    I currently use fibers which ultimately have been a life saver for me however fibers don’t give you a hairline!    I wondered if anyone could give a rough graft estimate? I know it’s all guess work but I’m curious. And any particular surgeons you’d consult with if you were in my place?    I’ve added pics some in harsher lighting for a more transparent view on the current situation.
    • I don’t want this thread to derail into dwelling on the first surgery, but this is a fair question and I will say I was unhappy with more than just the lack of density behind the hairline and in my opinion the issues could not be solved just by adding more grafts behind the hairline (as much as I wish that were the case!). In addition to the issues I noted in my 12 month update in my prior surgery thread, I would say the main problems were: (a) the hairline was too low (it was on my forehead brow wrinkle/muscle - take a look at the photo in my first thread with the surgical lines to see this), (b) there were too many multi grafts in the hairline and since the hairline was too low the only option was to remove them and (c) there were misangled grafts that needed to be removed.
    • Hi All,  I did a FUE operation with Dr Saifi 2 years ago for 2400 grafts. I was a NW5 if not 6 so I knew going in the 2400 wouldn't solve everything and I would need more operations in the future. Interestingly Dr Saifi told me he would leave a strip on the back of my head in case I ever wanted to do FUT in the future.  I forgot about it and thought I would just do FUE again as I have been researching transplants this year. Until I came across the theory recently, that a way to maximize lifetime grafts is to do a FUT-FUE combo. FUT first and FUE second.  But in my case, if the Doctor left a strip, I hope it will work the same if I do the FUT second, after the FUE I already did, from the strip the doctor left hence maximizing lifetime grafts.  Is this a good idea? My worry is also if my donor has deteriorated over time that this might not be feasible.  Below is the picture of my donor area, with the strip, hopefully visible, I'm guessing the more dense bit across the middle. Is this a good idea? Can I get a few thousand grafts out of this and will the above hair be able to cover the scar? Regards
    • Don't take the recommended list here as gospel. The lines are blurred when you think the information here is 100% only for the patient's (you or me or anyone) best interests. All you can do is be thankful other members had the guts to post their subpar results here, a subpar result is 10x more valuable than a good one. Even a hair mill can produce a great result from time to time.
