Senior Member PLEASE GROW PLEASE Posted July 2, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 2, 2009 This has the makings of being an incredible result. The fact that they kept the 4s intact and used DFUs in the mid scalp region should lead to a phenomenal result. You almost got full scalp coverage also. I know you must be happy Tos. If you start taking propecia you might even get that crown to grow back to an acceptable look and not have to do any more surgeries If you think about it its actually over a 5000 graft case the way some clinics count and plant their grafts
Senior Member TC17 Posted July 2, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 2, 2009 I completely agree PGP. The fine hair on the top of his head should act as some nice filler as well. I will be shocked if this result doesn't end up jaw dropping.
Bill - Seemiller
"This has the makings of being an incredible result" I couldn't agree more with PGP. Regular Member Irish-1 Posted July 3, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted July 3, 2009 So far so good! First few days were uncomfortable but it has slowly gotten better.. Feel very lucky in regards to the Swelling, knock on wood on day 4, Love the result just hte the fact that it is the 4th and i'm kinda stuck LOL! But i will continue to relax and i actually have stayed pretty active as in walking and stuff which has kept my mind off the pain.. im still very careful but it's just about 5 days and it is starting to feel better! don't really need the pain meds right now (just at night) and just about 3/4 away thru the graphcyte they gave me to use.. And i am on Proscar (just started a month or so ago) so hopefully that will help the crown! If this can be one and done great! It's going to be a journey for the next year and we shall see from there, maybe some crown work, maybe some FUE to touch up and add some more density. Please everyone keep in touch it, this place has really helped me! Now it's time to help others also! Senior Member Janna Posted July 3, 2009 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 3, 2009 Hi Tos, Great to hear you're recovering well. Just when you think the pain has subsided and you're back to normal, your donor scar will start itching and feeling tight. You'll feel a lot better once the sutures are out. It's your body's way of telling you to take the stitches out. You can also stop using the Graftcyte spray as we'd like the little scabs to dry up and flake off. We're all looking forward to seeing your updates. ps: I will be emailing your pics today since we have our emails working again. Happy 4th. Hope you find something fun but relaxing to do. Regular Member Irish-1 Posted July 4, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted July 4, 2009 Hi everyone, feeling good actually got to take a nice shower today and gently massage the area with my finger tips and quite a few of the little (all scabs are very small)scabs came off nice and easy! No hairs came out which is great LOL. Off all the meds, take a few advil here and there which helps the donor area. But overall pretty good a little tight in the donor area and it gets a little uncomfortable sometimes but it is tolerable without meds, just keeping my mind busy and it keeps it off of donor. Quick question, is it an issue since i am off all the meds if i have 2-3 beers today, it is the 4th! Senior Member the B spot Posted July 4, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 4, 2009 Tos, I don't think have a beer or two will kill you..... just be careful...alcohol and transplants generally end up with head bumps and falling down! Also, watch your friends who are taking up your slack! Senior Member thanatopsis_awry Posted July 6, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted July 6, 2009 The work looks tremendous; definitely agree that this should yield a fabulous result. The strip excision itself looks super good and "mild", but it looks fairly long to me. Strips generally surprise me in their length when I see buzzed down pics, so it could just be perspective thing, but did Dr. Shapiro go longer or anything on this case as a result of Tos' laxity and/or graft requirements? ----------- *A Follicles Dying Wish To Clinics* 1 top-down, 1 portrait, 1 side-shot, 1 hairline....4 photos. Senior Member the B spot Posted September 29, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted September 29, 2009 Missed your question Thana!!.... in order to get high graft numbers you must either add length or add width (or both) to the amount of tissue being removed. For 4800 grafts, Dr. Ron could have left the strip shorter, but that would mean having to take a wider strip, so it is a balancing point and depends solely on each individual patient. BTW It is good to see you up and about Tos!!!
