  1. I have to agree with TC17 and 1234, way to young for HT. Try shaving to 1 or 2 guard , see how it looks.... Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  2. I would like to give my opinion. I wouldn't say that nothappy's results are awful, I would say that it is thin....There is a difference! I don't beleive that any respectable surgeon will preform a HT with the intentionof deceiving the patient, (hacks excluded), I think that this is the reality of HT's, or any other cosmetic surgery for that matter, everybody expects miracles and perfection, sorry to say that only God can create such results! I was a NW 4a, have had over 4,500 fu's in two surgeries, and I still would like to have fuller apperance, why, because that is human nature! Sometimes we have to accept reality and move on....By the way, I don't know H&W, never had surgery with them, but I do think they are one of the best in the world..... Just a thought from the peanut gallery.....
  3. If you don't want to travel, check out Dr.Woods....If you say you are a Nw 6, then assume 1000 FU per Nw level, so about 5000 to 6000 Fu's for complete restoration.....One question though, if you are already shaving your head, why don't you stay that way and forget about HT,s? You have no idea how many guys on this site would give a left nut to be able to shave their heads, without any scars! A transplanted head of hair will never look completely natural when shaved and don't beleive anyone who tells you otherwise! Once you embarke on the HT route, there is no turning back....Keep smiling:) Just a thought from the peanut gallery....
  4. It is very important for someone cosidering a HT, to fully understand what is possible and what is a dream....To say that you want full coverage, it would require way more than 3000 or 4000 grafts, what that will give you is an "illusion" of full coverage, a lot of HT candidates don't understand what that means, untill it's to late! In my experience, you are better off to have two sessions of 2500 fu's, almost any scalp can accomadate such a # of grafts, you let the scalp heal and repair itself, than you go for a second pass of the same # of grafts...That way you get 5000 grafts, and you don't put as much tension on the donor region....Trying to get 4000 or 5000 fu in one sitting, even though there are surgeons who do it, is very difficult and can be quite risky...it is a long wide strip to remove all at once! I personally wouldn't risk it. Just a thought from the peanut gallery....
  5. You can check out Dr. Alain Sabourin. He is probabaly your best choice in Montreal. Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  6. I think that maybe one of two things might be happening....Either you lost all of your native hair, permanant shock loss, or you are going through a seasonal shed...I hope for your sake it's the latter. I think you should wait at least a couple of years before having a second surgery. Good luck. Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  7. I hate to say John, i'm not very computer savy.....I don't know how to post pictures. I tried once, it kept saying they were to large, resize...go to this sight...do this ...do that.....like that's ever gonna happen! Anywys, my scar is about 2mm at it's widest, it has never been an isue, even when wet...I'm sure if I shaved down it would be obvious, but I don't plan on shaving in the near future. I can't explain why, but my hair looks alot fuller when it's this short. I know how you feel about your hair right know....I've been reading you posts...Why don't you try cutting your hair shorter and let it just fall forward, at least your hairline won't visable, not that I think there is anything wrong with it, but you do. If your hairline isn't visible, maybe you can get over your anxiety, and get your life back! I think your density is excellent, you could pull it off beautifully;) Just a thought from the peanut gallery....
  8. If you were to graft 40 fu per sq centimitere, not sure how many that would be per sq inch, but 40 fu is about as dense as most top end surgeons will do, at least that`s what I have come to understand....It also depends on hair caliber, wether it`s wavy, straight, curly...diameter is also very important, as is colour....When they say that you have to lose 50% of your existing hair before it is noticable balding, is a bit misleading, it might hold true for a large majority, but not for everyone...and that`s because of the diffferent characteristics of each persons hair...So someone with black curly hair could lose 70% and still not look like they are balding, and someone with thin, light brown, straight hair could lose 30% and look balding...So you see it`s not that straightforward...I beleive it`s the quality of the HT that is more important than the quantity... Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  9. I used to keep my hair at about 2 inches...I just had it cut to .5 inches, and it looks better than ever...I plan on going for a cut every 3 weeks or so, I should have done this long ago, I never have to comb, style,blo-dry, never have to use any gels, mouses, don't care about wind...What more could one ask for! Just a thought from the peanut gallery....
  10. You could try taking 1mg every second day. If you find it still gives you side effects, try every 3rd day..... Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  11. At 11 days, you can sleep any way you want.....The only way to "remove" any grafts at this point on, is surgically. The grafts are secure usually after about 4days. Heal well my friend. Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  12. Hey, ES Your probabaly right...a 14 year old head of hair on a 50 year old might look weird....But wouldn't it be cool!!! At least if it was a cure, and not a HT it might not be so bad looking after all. What I mean is, let's say tomorrow, someone discovered a way to revive all your hair follicles to grow back naturally, without any surgical intervention whatsoever, wouldn't you be more inclined to want to have back all your original hair? It would be as if MPB never existed.. I know it's far fetched and unrealistic, but would you still think it would look strange? Just a thought from the peanut gallery....
  13. No I don't regret it, not in the least bit, I was a NW 4a, no crownloss whatsoever....Dr. Konior was my second surgeon, and he did a fabulous job, he actually comented in one of his emails to me that he was envious of my hairline...lol...I never brought my hairline down in either surgery, I just had the whole front 3rd filled in, I don't seem to be losing anymore hair, I've been on propecia for 5 years know, never used minox, and I think I should be ok for at least 15+ years...BUT...if there was some miracle cure....(now I know this might sound nuts), and I was told that for 100K, I could regain all my density from when I was a young guy....I would do it...Not because I have "hair greed" or because I want to look good for the "ladys"...I don't care about that! I JUST LOVE HAIR....Period...How's that for a laugh:) Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  14. Well said ES, I've had 2 HT, 4600+ grafts...I'm also 40 yrs old, with 3 kids. I never cared what people said about my balding, never....I had my HT for myself.....I like the way I look, and couldn't care less what anybody thinks...I even went out in public, after my first HT, even though it wasn't the best, shaved head, staples and all...Nobody said anything, you know why? Because they all know that I don't give a damn about anybody's opinion when it comes to my personal life....I think that state of mind made me an excellent HT candidate...Regardeless of hair charactersitics, donor density, etc., That's why I don't think a lot of the guys who get HT's know what they are getting into...Which will inevetably lead to disapointement, and self shame... Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
  15. The biggest problem with HT`s, is that they are overhyped....Many people don`t understand what the term illusion really means....Every HT patient I ever met, including myself, have unrealistic expectations.....No matter how many times they will say they are happy, deep down inside, they always expected more, better, denser, etc,etc,etc....The only difference with some over others, is that some come to terms with what they have and accept it, while others continue to obsess, and worry about it.....Those are the ones who ``regret`` their decision the most.....Face it guys....Nobody gives a s....t what are hair looks like, it`s all in the head... Just a thought from the peanut gallery....
