I am now 10.5 weeks post procedure. I am still in the ugly duckling stage, although hair is starting to grow nicely. When I run my fingers through my hair, I can feel lots more hairs coming through, almost like stubble at this stage. I’ve tried to get some pictures that show this, however I’m not sure how clear they turn out. I will post some more pictures when I hit the three month mark, but would appreciate any feedback at this stage. I have given myself a rather questionable Covid haircut on the sides, so please forgive the uneven back and sides! I can feel more and more hairs coming through, still feels a little bit like stubble.I can definitely see them better with my naked eye. Senior Member Classygentleman Posted March 31, 2021 Author Senior Member Share Posted March 31, 2021 I was waiting until the barbers open till I could get a proper haircut before giving you an update. However since you asked- attached are my four-month pictures. New hairs appear to be popping through every day. I’ve tried to take some close-up pictures so you can see some of the smaller house coming through. Does anyone on here know how long new hairs continue to come through for? (I appreciate that the full result is not visible until 12 months, but I’m keen to know when all of the new hair will have popped through(
Senior Member Britanium Posted March 31, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted March 31, 2021 The popping of new transplanted hairs progresses as follows: By month 3, the new hairs begin “popping” through the scalp. By the end of month 3, approximately 30% of the hairs have penetrated through. 40% have come through by month 4, and 50% by month 5. By 6 months, approximately 60% – 70% of the new hairs have fully penetrated through the scalp. By the 9th month, approximately 90 – 100% of the hairs have “popped” through the scalp, and most of the changes of a hair transplant from that point forward are due to maturation. 1
Regular Member Kingthin Posted April 2, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted April 2, 2021 Hairline is coming on and can see the diff from the last post, month 5/6 are going to be good. Do you know what your graft distribution was, how many in the front/mid/crown?

I’m hoping the next few months will bring lots of new hairs - just in time for summer! im not too sure of the distribution in terms of graft count per area. I have uploaded my immediate pre-op pics, so that may give you an idea!
Senior Member Classygentleman Posted April 16, 2021 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 16, 2021 4.5 month update and first proper haircut. Starting to thicken up, now hairs coming through so appear to be on track for 4.5 months?! donor is definitely thinner than pre-surgery, which is to be expected - could this be schlock loss potentially? Or is it too late in the process for that? Thanks
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted April 16, 2021 Valued Contributor Share Posted April 16, 2021 I would say you are right on track. At only just over four months there is plenty of growth yet to come. I like the hairline. Are you on any meds for this? Thanks for sharing and I look forward to following future updates! Senior Member Britanium Posted April 16, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted April 16, 2021 Yes totally on track for 4.5 months in my opinion. Looking really good for this point . Next 4/5 months will show the most growth. 👌
Regular Member Kingthin Posted April 19, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted April 19, 2021 Was looking back at your pre-op photos and great improvement already at 4.5 months. Can see the coverage starting to come through more and more in the crown to mid too.
Senior Member Classygentleman Posted June 11, 2021 Author Senior Member Share Posted June 11, 2021 6 month update. Progress is happening- I’ve spoken with the Dr and they advise that most growth usually happens from 6 months onwards so am hoping it now gets really exciting! (Frustrating when you see others with almost full results at 6 months, but I get that everyone is different) Crown is starting to fill in but also appreciative of the fact this takes much longer. I would welcome honest feedback from others as to how it’s progressing- positive or negative. I've attached pics with and without product (just hair gel- no fibres or concealer) to give a full picture as to where I currently am.
