Advice on Doctors within Europe (excluding Turkey and the UK)

Hi, i have during the past month been extensively researching Hair transplant surgeons/ clinics, as a bit of a background i've been quoted 2500-3500 grafts for a frontal restoration as im a NW3, i really want it densely packed with the most natural looking hairline as possible (I'm sure this what everyone is after?). Originally i wanted to stay in the UK but after many consultations i have decided this is not a route due to poor results for extortionate costs and very poor customer service from the patient advisors or even the surgeons. I have excluded the idea of going to Turkey due to all the varying reviews online and uncertainty behind who will actually be performing the surgery. My list has been narrowed down to Dr Bisanga of whom seems to have the most consistent results on forums, online and from talking to other patients or, alternatively Dr Ferreira of whom i've heard great things but i can't find many reviews or photos online of his work. Both doctors are very in demand and are booked three months in advance which must be a good sign, doctors in the UK were offering surgery the week after!

Who else on here has been to either Doctor for their HT and how were your experiences?

My thought process is currently to go with Dr Bisanga as it's the least "risky" option in Europe and his results do look consistently excellent. Are their any other recommendations that potentially provide similar or better results than the above drs?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think you can go wrong with Dr Bisanga if that's who you want. Very good results from him. Just be realistic in your expectations of what to expect from a HT. I'm sure to the general public, your hair post-HT with him will look natural and good without any evidence work was done, but to yourself... we are our own worst critics.

I personally had mine done with Dr Ferreira a couple of weeks ago and can't fault it so far, but it is early days for me. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

In all honesty if it doesn't come down to money I would say Bisanga hands down. His hairline designs etc are the best in the business. If money is a factor than I would be on a plane to Porto as you will get an excellent result from Ferreira.

Thanks for the reply so quickly. Money isn't the driving factor but i am gauging whether an additional 4,500 euros would be a significantly better result. Another option who came back to me after an online consultation would be Dr Maras at HDC. Have people seen positive results from him on here?

He has good results but I can't see what would sway you to him rather than BF IMO. Also UK to Porto is not a bad flight. I've just had mine done at the hair Dr clinic and will be doing a review shortly. I know you have exhausted UK clinics which I did too but they are definitely worth a second look. I would try not to overcomplicate it by choosing too many options. Find a clinic that has results similar to your ideal end result Vs current NW and take it from there.

Hi Richie, the reason im swaying towards Dr Bisanga is that there is SO many patient reviews on forums and photos of before and afters. However, with BF there isn't much to go on but obviously his results look good and he is full booked until Mid May now so must be in demand.. Hard to decide isn't it! Hope you get a good result with Hair Dr, i personally didn't have the best experience during my consultation with them hence the reluctance of staying in the Uk for surgery.

'the reason im swaying towards Dr Bisanga is that there is SO many patient reviews on forums'

This is ultimately the most important criteria to go by - you are thinking along the right lines. I like what I have seen from Dr BF, and I like his resume from working alongside Lorenzo, however there is no denying that he doesn't quite yet have the volume of patient posted threads online to place him as being 'a safe bet'.

I would look into Dr Feriduni - he's been consistently good for years, plenty of presence online (have a look on other forums not just this one), and is similarly priced to Bisanga. I also like his hairline designs.

Dr De Freitas in spain has some nice hairline results - theres a patient thread on here which is good, but the majority of his patient threads are on the spanish forums.

Thanks man I'm happy with the result and my progress so far. I chose to stay in the UK because it ticks the boxes in the current climate and I was confident in what the Hair Dr could deliver with me only wanting the temples infilled.

Curious has offered wise words and if you are in a position to travel then I would give the doctors with proven results a good consideration. Ultimately you will have to go with your gut instinct but a boat load of results will certainly put your mind at ease.

Dr. Bisang is one of the best surgeons in Europe in my opinion.

Too many but i can summarize my honest opinion below;

Dr Tam (UK) Met in person at his clinic, really nice guy but quoted 2400 grafts at £7,600 but wasn't convinced i'd get the result i'd want.

Dr Bisanga (Belgium) I'd been in contact with a very friendly patient advisor called Ian. If i had unlimited funds i'd have gone with him but i'd rather not take any credit out for the HT as it would be around £11,000 with him.

Harley Street Clinic (UK) Was quoted 1800 grafts for £7,500 over two days, they stated a very conservative hairline which would be okay but not ideal as i feel their audience or target market are to a elder generation than myself.

Hair Dr (UK) I had a skype call with a nurse and this was my first consultation. Initially i was really keen but after careful consideration decided against it after seeing some results and talking to a couple of patients directly through instagram.

Others i spoke to were Dhi, Hair growth center (avoid at all costs!), Westminster (super friendly) and some turkish clinics but they seemed far too shady for my liking

Oh. 😮 Care to elaborate? I'd be curious what those patients said and results looked like.

The results on their Instagram and social media look poor in my opinion. I spoke to one guy over whats video and he showed me his hair pulled back, it look terrible, pluggy and fake. I felt super bad for him but at the end of the day he seemed pleased and that's all that matters. For me i think if a clinic can do your surgery within a week of consultation they can't be that great.

Damn, that's a shame, I thought Dr. Arshad was pretty decent. That's the thing though, pictures are rather deceiving. A video or actual patient reviews are completely different.

That leaves me to think it's only Dr. Ball and Dr. Reddy worth mentioning in the UK.

I consulted with most of the major hair clinics in Europe, either online or in person, also avoided the UK and Turkey for the same reasons as you. There is also nothing in Ireland. Two more for you to consider before you make the plunge: Dr Feriduni and Hattingen Hair. Dr Feriduni has 100s of patient reviews (as opposed to clinic posted reviews) on this site alone. Hattingen Hair is not reviewed that much on this site as their market is typically the German and then the French market (check their forums out) but I was the first to do a review of them on this site (see my post) and others have followed suit. We all have great results. Both are ethical and both have worldwide reputations, including with other surgeons.

Good luck with that, man! I am leaning towards booking with Dr Tam for as long as he can reduce the cost from 7500 £ to 5500£. Will have another consultation in February with possible booking for beginning of March 2021. About 2500 grafts hairline only.

Had many appointments with pretty much every clinic in London, narrowed it down to HASCI and dr Tam, dr Tam having an edge due to being a hairline specialist.

Would love to know how it went with your surgeon? Did you get a discount?
