You're going through the stages of grief over your hairloss. I would guess somewhere between denial and bargaining. Combined with your other posts, it seems like you're struggling with other life issues as well. I doubt I can help with the life issues, but your hair would benefit from using RU58841 or CB-03-01 if you're uncomfortable with Finasteride. Why not have one less thing to worry about?

Family is a crappy indicator of hairloss, regardless of people throwing it around all the time. The fact that you've been losing your hair since 23 is a bad sign, though. Maybe reconsider a DHT blocker if you're deadset on having a transplant to lower your hairline. There are other options like RU58841 and CB-03-01 to maintain hair.

Okay, this is better than nothing, but it isn't a long-term strategy for hairloss. Minoxidil does nothing for the underlying cause of MPB. If this is the only tool in her toolbox, I hope she's super selective in who she decides to operate on.

This was a really strange interaction. @JohnBob If your dream goal is to have a HT with Konior, why don't you save up and do that? He's got a long waiting list anyway, so it's not like you would be seeing him tomorrow even if you had the funds ready to go. People seem to debate FUE vs FUT here all the time. Do your own research and make your own decision. At the end of the day, YOU are the one who has to live with your reflection in the mirror.

What was the consult like? Were all the doctors there?

@JacobN Since HLC works as a doctor team, can I ask how your experience with that was? How did they decide which doctor performs your surgery?

Just that I have to repeatedly email them the same question multiple times, and it seems to take between 3-7 days to get a response.

I've had some communication issues with them. Kinda worried about that if I experience any issues post-surgery.

No way. Afro hair is super tricky if you want FUE. Dr. Lupanzula (Belgium) also has very good results for Afro hair and he's a little cheaper.

That's completely fair. At least from what I've seen (wish it was a little more), that HLC is an excellent clinic. I'm considering going there myself. I do worry about clinics that never seem to turn down clients. HLC also copy pastes their on-line consult responses, which I REALLY don't like.

I was implying that Bisanga was apprehensive about your case, with more realistic expectations. This seemed more ethical, especially since he hadn't seen you in person. I also think it might be telling that the most experienced surgeon you consulted with was also the least thrilled about performing surgery on you. HLC is baiting you with the best case possibility. Car dealerships do the same thing. I'm not saying that I know if HLC is unethical, but I don't think they're on the same level with Dr. Bisanga. HLC has more cases on the Bella Capelli (Italian) hair loss forums. I haven't seen any Norwood 6/7's there. YouTuber MattDominance seems to like HLC and posted a 9000 graft result of theirs on a NW 6. He's kind of a weasel, though, and I'm not sure why he has access to HLC results that haven't been posted other places.

@JayLDD I adjusted my opinion after hearing his entire rationale, two surgeries, etc. That being said, brotha you can lie to yourself all you want, age is a HUGE effin' issue for long-term aesthetically pleasing results.

Actually, I must have skipped over the pre-op photo with the measurements written on your head. It looks like they were shooting for 55 hairs per square cm in your front, and maybe 30 for your crown in the next procedure?

I wasn't trying to come off as an ass or make you nervous. It's just that 22 is very young and you weren't given any time to see how you respond to Finasteride before having surgery. I was hoping that HLC gave you real numbers for coverage+a long term plan with donor numbers, etc., should you lose more hair.

Please be careful with clinics that just tell you what you want to hear, especially without having seen you in-person. I did a "consult" with HLC, and I get the very strong vibe they would do a hair transplant on a car door if it could pay them. That isn't to say the results I've seen from them aren't very good, but how many aesthetically pleasing results have they documented for norwood 6/7's? Dr Bisanga stretching out his shirt collar and making a loud "gulp" noise during your virtual consult isn't a good sign. Please see a top surgeon in-person for a consult, and make sure they do a real microscopic examination of your hair.

Have you checked out Dr. Nadimi's results on here and instagram to make sure you like her aesthetic approach? You shouldn't go into surgery with Nadimi based on her association with Konior, especially if you were interested in Konior to begin with. How long was the virtual consultation?
