  1. I use both. I have quite a bit of diffuse thinning, though. If I felt I could get away with dropping the Minoxidil, I would in a heartbeat. It's annoying and irritates my scalp. Just dump it If you aren't even sure you're getting a noticeable benefit.
  2. You start patients off at 0.5mg daily of Dutasteride? What dose do you work up to?
  3. RU-58841 is an an extremely potent topical anti-androgen designed to have poor systemic absorption. It never went through all the FDA approval trials, so it's considered (at least in the US) a research chemical. You Tube channels "More Plates More Dates" and "Kevin Mann" have used RU-58841 with success, as have many bodybuilders who are using extremely hair damaging substances which bypass the normal pathways of combating hair loss. There's also Breezula, another topical anti-androgen, about to get a mainstream release on the market soon. Guys have been purchasing this under its research name (CB-03-01) for years. I'm not recommending you run out and smear this stuff all over your head. I'm just making a suggestion toward something that might be worth investigating and drawing your own conclusions about. Good luck with anything you decide.
  4. Are you sure it's MPB? Ninety-nine percent of the time it is, but there are outliers, in which case androgen focused treatments wouldn't be effective. Assuming it's MPB, maybe look into a compound called RU-58841. I don't know of the legality of purchasing it in all parts of the world, though.
  5. I think just about anyone, particularly with lighter hair, could find a spot in their hairline that looks a bit see-through. Lighting and angle can make a huge difference as well.
  6. Maybe ru58841 if you're feeling experimental? I personally think the laser caps are a huge waste of money.
  7. I'm no expert, but, just like anyone else, I can compare your donor area to similar cases that have been shown on these forums. Your hair/skin contrast might reveal more of the scarring than someone who has light skin/light hair, but your donor area looks rough for the amount of grafts taken, at least to me. Also, you said you had very thick donor hair. Why would 3000 grafts make it look as if it was taken to the limit? It also seems like you had some concerns about your procedure that you reported in the beginning of your thread that now might be more relevant in hindsight.
  8. I'd be wary of letting them do a "touch up" if they didn't treat his donor area respectfully the first time.
  9. Many guys experience zero sides using Finasteride. If you caught your hair loss early enough, why bother with the Minoxidil? It's annoying to apply a topical everyday when you can just take a pill.
  10. Thank you for being open about your HT experience. I think it takes balls to continue documenting something like this, even when the results appear to be disappointing. I followed you from the beginning, and you seem like a patient and optimistic guy. Please don't get discouraged. It does seem like something went wrong with your procedure, though. Your poor growth could maybe (emphasis on "maybe") be attributed to physiology, not taking finasteride, and all the other reasons that are generally given, but why does your donor look patchy and over-harvested? That seems a little harder to make excuses for.
  11. Sorry, but from a hairloss perspective, I don't think healthy lifestyle makes a bit of difference. Pro athletes lose their hair all the time, while totally inactive slugs can keep heads of hair like Elvis for life. Genetics aren't fair, plain and simple. With the level of stress you're currently going through, and how badly it seems to be affecting you, maybe it would be worth it to give Finasteride a shot. Minoxidil doesn't actually address the underlying mechanism of hairloss.
  12. I believe the only thing that reflects a HT surgeon's skill and talent are his visible final results. Dr. Ferreira barely has any final results shown anywhere. I think that's pretty concerning, especially since there are people claiming he's "world class." How would they know?
  13. It looks like you have a mature hairline, not even really loss. The risk to reward might be unfavorable if you opt for a transplant. Maybe consider finasteride as a preventative measure, if you're willing.
  14. Not from recuperarelpelo. They only have a couple of unfinished cases by Dr. Ferreira, and are pretty hesitant to recommend him until more show up. Do you know of another forum with more of Ferreira's results?
