  1. Hi there, i am feeling bad too. I am nearly 9 months post op, and my results are mediocre at best. However, i do not just want to place any judgement until one year. That said, i am not being positive at all as i dun expect any miracle to happen. Maybe i am just one of those with bad luck. I made a choice, took the plunge, i cannot regret just move on!
  2. If u r talking abt toppik, there is defn this green sweat thing. For those who said they have not experienced, maybe u did not check in detail. Just sprinkle some black toppik into the sink / toilet bowl and leave it there for half an hour. The water and fibres will turn into jet green very very dark green but definitely not black. When mixed with saltish sweat, it will turn into lighter green which can be a distress at times. Nanogen does not have that problem though
  3. Just thought i should chip in. I agree with ES, i mean, u r at your mid 20s and honestly, it does not look that bad. Obviously every individual reacts differently to HL but shutting yourself down from the outside world is over the top IMHO. Like Rod said, there's a long way to go kiddo, and many bigger problems out there in future for u to face. Brace up a bit and get out to have some fun. Before u know it, u will be in your 30s with family commitments, work problems etc and u will regret shutting yourself up when u had the chance
  4. Tsakalos, to be honest, u made it so obvious that anyone following your posts would know that you went H&W. does not take a genius to imply that from your various posts. Though i strongly agree that the rep calling u idiotic ( assuming its true ) is defn wrong, i agree with Bill ( in fact, in the past,i had suggested many times that u shld disclose your case for an open discussion ). Implying so openly and then refusing to reveal the details for discussion does not sound fair to your surgeon. We are all adults, we can judge whether the results are good. I humbly urge u to do so.
  5. Jo, u purposely mentioned that its the make up applications, not the sprinkle ones, like toppik or nanogen. I just need reaffirmation on this! Can i safely say that u have not come across any cases where there was persistent low grade infection from sprinkle concealers like toppik and nanogen? thanks!
  6. Tsakalos, so now u have made it clear and known that u went to H&W for your second surgery, which i guessed as much from the few posts we had together. Like i mentioned last time, u should get the pics and do a full documentation to show why u r displeased with your result. That will lend u more credentials. However, no matter what, if the rep accuses u as idiotic, thats plain rude and i agree u should make a fuss out of it.
  7. Tsakalos, i still cannot get over your post. You meant, the dr rep actually labelled u as idiotic? Hey thats outright mean, ok look, even if you are a bit fussy or whatever, it does not give the rep the right to say that u r idiotic, thats plain rude For the sake of everyone, i think its better u reveal who that is ( though i am pretty sure i know his identity ). If your words are authentic, it will serve to warn potential patients in a positive way
  8. Tsakalos, persuasive, smart, versatile are the traits of a salesman? Oh ok how abt insistent and relentlessly angry? enough said just a joke. lol Anyway am i right to say u are speaking from your own experience? I am quite sure i know who did your op and the rep involved but i haven spoken to him before so no comments however, calling your customer idiotic is plain wrong, no matter who's right and wrong. However, i can vouch for Spex. He knew along that i am from Asia and most probably going to Dr Pat for surgery. Regardless of this, he asked me to give him photos to show Dr Feller to get a graft count to get a second opinion and when i wanted to get some hair stuff from UK, he volunteered to help me get it done. I am just wondering if u would do that for someone who u jolly well know that he is not contributing to your wallet? You are a salesman, think about it
  9. Frank, i respect and admire your determination to fight the MPB monster. i wished i had that much energy! I was thinking of a second surgery to fortify my frontal zone but i am just v hesitant to go thru all the waiting, downtime etc. Its not as easy as many thought out to be. Waiting was actually, in retrospect, acceptable, it was the downtime that really hurts. I cannot meet clients, bankers etc and it affected my business big time
  10. Yes Vincent, i was telling our friend here there will be a 3month waiting list. looks like it still is! Akuma, its imperative that u immediately give them a call tomoro. You nvr know if someone has cancelled his date and u might get lucky
  11. Any reason why u use akuma? There is a character with the name of Akuma in the street fighter series lol Anyway yes, like Hariri said, u will not go wrong with this doc. I cannot say enough of his work and his team. However, having said that, at 8mths, i am sporting quite bad density but i am awaiting for a full year to lapse before i make some final comments
  12. I feel for u mate, thats really a tough pill to swallow. Anyway I have been a concealer user for the last decade, i would really want to say yes but based on my experience, no, concealers aint gonna do u wonders as your hair is quite sparse. Concealers need hair to bind to and it works perfectly for crown problem or just receding hairlines. However, for sparse spots throughout the scalp, i am afraid u might not be able to pull it off. Anyway, dun lose heart, why not try getting a bottle? I would be more than pleased to be wrong in my opinion Lastly, if u r talking abt HT, your hair loss does not seem to be MPB, i would think its more like the after effects of chemo. Correct me if i m wrong, but i thought hair loss caused by chemo is temporary?
  13. orx, i feel for u girl, its tough. Being 34 and losing my hair for the last decade was traumatic to me and to think that can happen to 19yr yo girls, thats a damn bitter pill to swallow. Thank god for concealers, as i was able to mask my loss for the better half of the decade. I was losing so much that concealers had no native hair to cling on and i simply looked weird. Right now, after my HT, though i lament the density ( mind u, i have a few more months of growing and thickening ), at least i have some hair where it used to be really really sparse so i can use concealers again. You might want to consider using it but here's the rub. To apply concealers to make it look good, there is a certain style. To make it simple, u can only mask the scalp so any hair which is drooping down will not be able to benefit from concealers. Hence, if u have longer hair, the tresses will look thin.. If u are really determined to mask your hair loss, u might have to sport a much shorter hairstyle and drizzle concealers over your scalp. Just my 2cents Anyway i am sorry again to hear of your hair loss. You can garner support from all of us here in this forum, we will be happy to share our opinions and ideas and most importantly, a listening ear
  14. Yes, whenever i see bald men together with those with a full head of hair, i just feel the baldies behave and look less confident. Its a disease that people underestimate the impacts on a person's well being. Now if u r talking about ladies with HL problems, its even worse. I dun think the impact is the same, its much more terrible if it happens to the females. sigh.....
  15. I disagree, i have many fellow ferrari F458 owners who are multi millionaires who are considering HT. When people have money, the more they will look to improve their looks. Insecurity happens to everyone, be it rich or not.
  16. Lorenzo, i think its pointless to argue anymore with abused. I gather that u and i just want to point out some untrue facts that abused has posted, just to help potential patients in recognising the truth. I still do not understand how come he insists that the native hair will be permanently shocked after HT. Maybe his surgeon did a bad job, but that does not mean everyone who goes under a HT will suffer that. Imagine if i had seen his post prior to my surgery, honestly i might chicken out and continue to suffer in misery abt my hair loss. I have been through the surgery and NO, permanent shock loss did not occur to me. I just worry for those on the fence who do not understand and not sure who to believe However, from all these arguments, i can safely concur on one issue. Selecting a good and responsible physician is of top priority.
  17. hi there, no i do not need to do more research thanks for your suggestion. I understand u are pissed off with your results or whatever but that does not give u the right to feel angry towards everyone. I nvr for once agree that a NW 2 at age 34 should go for HT. Bear that in mind. However, i am just questioning some of the logic that u make. Mate, by just making a sweeping statement, u r hindering the chances of potential patients of fixing their problem and getting on with their lives. Imagine someone suitable for HT doing research and coming across your post, he might chicken out and continue to suffer in silence in which he could actually choose a good doc and have a satisfactory result and live happily ever after. I am not arguing with u over this again, and i made it clear its not rattling on abt my good results, but some facts which u mentioned are not true and i have to state out the other side of the story Your post as follows THE FACTS ARE: IF YOU ARE A NW2-NW3 WITH A LOT OF EXISTING HAIR, THEN YOU RUN A VERY COMMON RISK OF SHOCK LOSS WB280 : As i said, i do not disagree. In fact i had plenty of shock loss, but that was TEMPORARY. Everything grew back. IF YOU ARE A NW2-NW3 WITH A LOT OF EXISTING MINIATURIZED HAIR AND HAVE BEEN TAKING PROPECIA AND HAVE BEEN SEEING NEW GAIN, NOT ONLY COULD YOU LOSE HEALTHY AND MINIATURIZED HAIR, BUT YOU WILL MOST LIKELY LOSE THE GAINED HAIR AS WELL. WB280 : Dude, why do u keep saying that? Is that scientifically proven? that HT causes your healthy and miniaturised hair to drop? Maybe it does hasten some miniaturised hair to fall out but they are going out anyway, but in place are beautiful natural hair taken from the back of your head! Anyway i will not argue with u on this anymore, as thats not my agenda, but my only worry is that some suitable patients might be scared of by your statements hence my post. I wish u all the best if u choose to go for a repair. Trust me, i know how its like to have a bad result cos i have been worrying that it might turn out bad and i would not be able to take it. Cheers mate,
  18. Abused, i really feel sorry your HT din work out for u, but i dun concur with some of your Q&A. Getting into a verbal war is not what i am after but i thought i should express some of my opinions in case some potential HT goers get scared off and suffer in silence about their hair loss when they can actually do something about it! 1. If you have been on propecia for many years and it was helping to hold on to the weaker hair, does it make sense to expose your scalp to MAJOR trauma of a surgery and lose all of that retention or gain? NO, IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. Wb280 : I am not getting u right here. Why will the weaker hair drop off after HT surgery? As far as i am concerned, i had bad frontal loss and temporary shock loss after the surgery but i am sure they grew back. Very few patients suffer permanent shock loss under the hands of a good doc and team. 2. A major cause of hair loss is reduced blood supply to the hair. Does it make sense to cut a huge slice out of your head near major arteries, severing veins and nerves? NO IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. Wb280 : again, i do not understand. Yes a huge chunk of my rear was being sliced off as per a standard FUT but reduced blood supply to the hair? I presume u are talking about your donor area. Did u have an issue? You did not post photos hence i cant tell, but my shock loss has recovered and my rear looks exactly the same as pre-op, plus a pencil thin scar line. 3. I had a slight receding hairline. Hairlines recede when hairs become miniaturized and eventually the diameter at the shaft becomes so fine its falls out. So HOW could it look natural when you cut out hair follicles in the back of your head where the hair shaft is the largest in the entire scalp, and transplant them in to an area that they are the smallest? IT DOESN'T Wb280: I have a receding hairline and while i lament the density ( at this point of time ), those hair that grew are the single hairs and they looked perfectly natural. The thicker and double, triple hairs should be transplanted deeper into the hairline. 2. You have been in the water and your hair dries and looks like a rats nest. wb280: seriously? i m sorry man but no, i dun think my HT hair looks like that when dry. Lastly, u seem agitated and rightfully so. There is nothing worse than a HT surgery than to go backwards from where u started. Once again, i am sorry mate. I just thought some opinions from u are tad little biased.
  19. nw_2, u find that Tron's HT can be spotted if u ran into him in the train? I took a few more glances at his pics, and no, i do not agree. I thought it looks very natural, i would nvr suspect he had anything done. However, density wise, i agree, it could have been better but still, definitely a huge cosmetic change from where he came from. In fact, combine rogaine foam and nanogen and i think he would look superb! Tron, so have u decided to undergo a follow up procedure? I understand Dr Simmons is providing it FOC but still, to go thru another phase of waiting etc sucks, to be honest. Do update us on your decision and god speed! Lastly, do u feel that your HT results might be compromised by the acne prob? Or u feel that even without that, the results were within your expectation? Just want to know how u feel about it
  20. hi 72, actually to be honest i had quite some opposite comments from u. If u r talking about swimming, from my experience it will definitely not hold. Its not about the lace or materials. Simply put, glue or tape will definitely lose their strength under water. I tried 10 times, 10 times the glue came out. You will emerge from the water with hair piece a bit loose, that i can guarantee! Lastly, if u are those who perspire a lot, yes the piece will start to feel very uncomfortable especially at the sides and the part where it is glued. My supplier has told me all these before hand so he was not hard selling. If u are not into swimming and live in a temperate climate, prob the piece will suit u better. However, if u are a regular triathlete who lives in Dubai, sorry mate, i know u do not want to hear this but tough luck seriously
  21. hair, good choice but u might be labelled an idiot
  22. Shadow, u made some good points but i goto respectfully disagree on going third world countries. I think its unfair to make that statement. It does not mean that docs from such places or countries are not as good as those from Europe or States. In fact, Dr Pat has been awarded the golden follicle award this year. There are so many patients who have got their hair successfully restored by him and i reckon thats not idiotic.
  23. Mate, if u intend to keep that beckham hairstyle, i think the scar might be exposed under close scrunity. Keeping it slightly longer will definitely conceal it though, just my 0.20
  24. 9000, Hariri is right. Dr Pat no longer practises FUE and only performs FUT exclusively. However, that being said, for myself, the scar is v undetectable, hence i do not see any issue with it. Moreover, 6k will not get u enough grafts for a FUE surgery. Lastly, i did not try but i think i am pretty sure Dr Pat does not give discount. It would be inappropriate for other patients and just fyi, when i booked him that time, there is a 3 month wait. Hence i just do not find any reason for him to cut u a discount which will be unfair to all others
