  1. Try nanogen or caboki though i will still recommend sticking to nanogen. Its all natural. Toppik has some colorings that cause your sweat to turn green. Try getting both and dumping a bit of each into the toilet bowl. You will see what i mean!
  2. Hi guys, the main reason why i refuse to shave is that the scar from my 1st strip procedure will prob expose itself. I did not do much research on FUE previously so pardon if i sound like a green horn. When u mean shave, it means like shaving a certain square shape at the donor area? Will hair be long enough to cover? Assuming i hope to go for a big mega session thanks!
  3. hey Blake, i am getting very diverse opinions which has set me thinking... I think u remembered my story... i really hate going thru the inconvenience... its a killer... Anyway under a v v good surgeon's hands.. can i assume the yield of FUE is comparable to FUT?
  4. Thanks for the opinions guys... so whats my best bet now? If i insist on FUE, whats the best graft count that will suffice for a non shaving procedure? As in donor area... I cant possibly shave as the scar will show...
  5. scar5, long time no see. how u mate? Remember we had the argument on FUE vs FUT. Till now, i am still standing firm on my belief that FUT gives better yield among others but i agree with your stand in promoting FUE. Right now, FUE suits me more as i had to go thru loads of inconvenience on my first op. I hate to go into details but i am sticking with FUE this time round N6, look, i am a huge fan of FUT, u can see all my previous posts i m not a newbie but seriously if u are asking me to go thru another round of FUT, i will probably do nothing and continue to mellow in my sorrow. I might not get as much from FUE but at least i get to improve my condition. Guys, if costs is of absolutely no concern, meaning i am willing even to pay double for a standard FUE op, do u think i will be able to convince any good doc to do for me without shaving both donor and recipient? thanks for the input!
  6. Hi THUT! Yup i understand but thing is i already got a scar from my previous session and though it has faded, its still visible if i were to shave it off. Is there any other way to do it? If i opt for a smaller case?
  7. hey bad beat, no the end result was not satisfactory. I had a couple of discussions with the good doc and even he realized the outcome was not satisfactory. Many reasons were being discussed but thats over the bridge and under the water and i really do not want to look back and find out what went wrong. I just want to look fwd and see how to improve my hair
  8. Hi guys!!! I am back!!! Been trying to stave off hair problems for some time but i realized nothing has changed... mentally.. still not able to go out without using concealers and concerned with excessive wind... u guys know the stuff... Anyway i have given it a long thought and thought i could further improve my hair by under going another session However, i have changed to a spiky hair style so having a traditional FUT is defn out of the question. I have been a huge supporter of FUT and i know the pros and cons v v well but after having tried it the first time round, the inconvenience is the main reason thats been keeping me at bay for the second op...Thats the reason why i have decided to just concentrate on FUE for my second op Thing is i have been doing too much research on FUT for my 1st op that i did not really read up on FUE. Can anyone tell me which drs ( recommended ) do FUE ( sessions of 3k grafts there about ) who does not need to shave both the recipient and donor regions? thanks!!!!!!!!!1
  9. damn thats good news mate!!! I will be starting the regime this week. Nervous yet excited! Wish me luck!
  10. RC West, hows it going for u? I am just embarking on a daily dosage of the oral minox... I haven asked u for some time... any side effects so far mate?
  11. munchkinman, i have been using it for years but i can tell u it will not last in swimming pool. However, its defn better than any product that u can find outside. Concealers like toppik and nanogen disappear at the moment u come in contact with chlorinated water. For dermatch of couvre, your hair will seem to be like all stuck together with the paste and your hair will actually look quite thick but here's the rub. I tried not to shower as u know dermatch will come off with shampoo. However, once dermatch and your hair gets into contact with chlorinated water, it is impossible to brush it.
  12. Beemark, errrrr i think u missed a couple of my posts. I wore it for some time but i just could not take the pressure associated with it as per my previous post. I said many times, maybe its just me, but i think u cannot deny some of the cons that come with it. Ultimately, it depends on the individual whether he can accept it. It just did not work out for me. I felt even worse after donning it
  13. Thats rough mate but u accentuated my point. A hair system only works for u if u already have a partner, and being very open abt it, meaning all ur friends etc should know u r on it.. though u will defn get some insensitive comments at times. They will not know how hurt u r but trust me, those comments will come. You will feel more self conscious and in the end, done, all confidence gone, worse than before u donned that hair piece If i m in that dilemma, i will just shave it. Thats making the best decision in the worst case scenario...
  14. Beemark, maybe its just me, but my supplier was good. He nvr hard sell to me and he told me abt all the various pros and cons. Like i told our friend here, i recommend him to try as i know how critical every ray of hope is for us all. I can truly understand, but i just hope he is mindful of the cons that i have experienced and also suggested shaving it all before going that hair system route. Maybe he will be happier that way, who knows NWM, can u share with us who your supplier is?
  15. Maybe its just me but if i aint a gd transplant candidate, i will defn shave it bald. I cannot get pass myself with the hair piece and no, it will not last in water no matter wat others tell u. Also, the feeling of the whole hair glued to your head... sorry mate, i hope u understand i m not trying to discourage u but i m telling u like it is... At 26 u r still relatively young but i have seen patients at your age going thru HT, however, i will still recommend the trio of rogaine, finasteride and nizoral shampoo. Also, try shaving it off. You see dudes like Vin diesel and Jason statham. You get my point mate! All is not lost Whatever is your decision, we will support u
  16. Bill, i have been very supportive of your comments and decisions so far but sorry i goto disagree with u this time. There is no controversy, look, even the patient is finding it ridiculous at Corv's intervention. It was a very simple thread, only to get complicated because of Corv's totally unnecessary intervention. Moreover, Corv started the whole argument by, again, writing stuff which totally questioned Spex. I am not the only one who does not feel amused by his 'lame' jokes. I strongly suggest that unless there is an agenda at hand for discussion, that Corv be blocked from all threads related to Dr Feller. This is totally detrimental to the doc's reputation.
  17. hey guys, i am still around, not kicking the bucket yet I have now concluded my results are not as positive as i hoped for and i did start another thread on that Ok thats all, not gonna hijack on this thread for my own stuff!
  18. ej, v v gd question. Patient himself posts online to thank Spex for the help and a 3rd party, totally not in the loop, comes in to make noise abt something nobody makes noise abt Dude, we all appreciate your inputs re Dr Feller but aint it time to put an end to your childish and kiddo behaviours? If u had a good result, congratulations and continue to help new members with precious knowledge and experience. In the past, maybe there were issues related to Feller and u made your point. Though i understood none of it, hey at least there were grounds to be discussed. In this thread, patient had thanked Spex for helping him and u made a big hoohaa out of it. It only shows plainly your deep bias against Feller and has no case at all. Come on, be a grown up and discuss real issues, will ya?
  19. Hi there norwoodsman, i know its tough, and i m not gonna dissuade u from a hair piece although i find myself more depressed after wearing it. I understand that u will grab any chance to have a life again so by all means try out the hair system. However, prob u would have heard this many times, why not go the shaved look? Prob not the best look but some guys can pull it off. Do post some pictures so that we can give suggestions
  20. Dr Charles, fair enough! thanks!
  21. hi hairupthere and dr Charles, thanks for the comments! Actually the reason i am delaying the photos is simple, and u prob guessed it. Its really not flattering, even the good doc said so. I do not want to garner any hate comments and then my doc goto come in and explain etc as i accepted the reasons he mentioned and has decided to move on. Also, as u prob know, there are a few haters in this forum so the last thing i want is to start an online spat Anyway Dr PAt has prescribed to me oral minox tablets. Its not FDA approved but apparently, according to Dr PAt, he has seen extremely marvellous results from those consuming it systematically. A dosage of 2.5mg is very safe in his opinion and he himself has been taking it for 15 yrs. Dr Charles, any comments? Lastly, do u guys think i shld opt for a full 3k ish surgery or some top up in the frontal zone ( i am at 38 grafts/cm2 ) and leave the 2/3 and beyond as it is? I am generally thinning and he is worried that if i do up that area, it might cause the weak hairs to fall out faster... decisions decisions!
  22. Hi guys! Its me again! I had 3150 grafts with Dr Pat in Bangkok exactly 1 yr ago and results have been mediocre at best. However, thats not wat my post is abt. I have absolute faith in the nice doc and we have a couple long discussions during my 2 trips down to the city of smiles. Basically my hair is fine so density is an issue and i had many 2hairs, with v little 3 hairs. But still, i prob think not all grew as 3150 grafts is not a small number so i was quite disappointed to get such results. Anyway, like i mentioned, its not the pt. I am scheduling for a 2nd surgery. He is of the idea that i shld just do a 1500grafts thereabout. I had abt 38graft/cm2 on my 1st surgery as my HT area was 83cm2. He hopes to build it up to 50 and leave it at that. However, logically, if i am to spend another devilish one year waiting for results ( been there, done that, its really a painful one year...) i would want the maximum ( maybe 3k ish ) and get the extra grafts all the way up 2/3 of my head. However, i think he is concerned that my hair is beginning to miniaturise and might hasten the loss of native hair I would appreciate comments esp from those who had 2 surgeries and before. Oh, and 1 more thing, Dr Pat mentioned that HT hair is less susceptible to shock loss compared to native hair so he expects me to not suffer so much shock loss. Comments?
  23. rws! thanks for the prompt response! My doc is really hoping i can start the medication as he is of the idea that it works v well for my category of patients. mid 30s and experiencing aggressive loss, and the whole head is starting to thin out, he said that if it works, not only can i save my current hair, but all the terminal hairs will become normal again. He asked me to try out for 4mths first. Whats your opinion?
  24. rws, RC west, i am abt to embark on the oral minox journey and i really need u guys to shed more light on it. No side effects at all? I can live with more hair on the body, beard whatever, hell more hair at the groin suits me fine too all pun intended haha! What worries me is the blood pressure. Do u guys have that checked religiously? If i am to consume, i will defn go to my GP fortnightly for a BP check! Also, is the growth u experienced significant or just some mental satisfaction? Have u any documented pictures, like at a couple mths interval? That would really help out a lot! thanks!
