  1. Oh, speaking of that, i always have this idea that Finas helps to keep the crown and prob the 2/3 part of the head, not the hairline. A better hairline can only be achieved via HT? Is there any truth to it? I know the side effects brothers, but here i m sitting right here, contemplating whether i should have a go, while my follicles disappear one by one ( or chunks for that matter ). I just wanted to ask for more opinions on whether i should have a go...
  2. I have had an FUT and FUE. I always felt that FUE would hurt less but no, i remembered clearly my first FUT was less painful. I cant speak for everyone but the 2nd op, aka FUE, was quite rough..
  3. I see... anyway i m not sure whether the % of users affected is blown out of proportion but it seems like negativity is all around... Ok can i gather that, despite the side effects, this drug is mostly quite effective at reducing hair loss and might even see some new hairs spruce up? Really need some advice from u guys...
  4. Hi guys, i had my 2nd surgery with Dr Paul Shapiro in mid may. Had a FUE but we could only get 1591 grafts, probably i will head back for another op next year as the clinic and myself both wanted to see how well my growth and healing is for this current surgery Anyway i am finally gonna embark on the finasteride journey. Just a quick question, i have read so many posts on the potential side effects, but i nvr did get an answer on whether ED meds can help. Meds like Cialis and Viagra. I know its unhealthy to be on long term ED meds but i would like to have a potential solution in case i am one of those affected Is there anyone out there who has suffered ED due to finas and be able to regain potency via ED meds? thanks!
  5. the downtime from the first op was really really terrible... i work with a lot of pple and the stares were unbearable.. I will be going for a more conservative graft count this time round and probably another op next yr...
  6. nah the result was really terrible n it was verified too. Be it physician's mistake or mine, i ve decided to move on so lets leave it as that yes dr ron is one of the most highly respected surgeon in his field n i ve utmost confidence going into it. its my second try but the jitters are still thrre. Guess nobody will ever be too used to ht. lol
  7. hi guys its been a while... after much consideration, i have decided to have faith in hair transplant again n go under the knife again after a terrible result from first op ht scheduled to be on 8 n 9th may under dr ron shapiro, fue, n hoping to get 2 to 2.5k grafts via fue.. have been feeling depressed knowing that i have lost 3k grafts for absolutely nothing.. really really hopeful i can get a decent result this time!! Many thanks to janna who has been unrelentless in providing whatever guidance i need n for the encouragement. i m feeling hopeful again n wish me luck!! cheers guys!!
  8. Hi guys, ya I get the point... Just a bit desperate To get whatever hair I can Lay my hands on hence the crazy thought
  9. Guys guys cool down... Anyway wct83, shampoo does have a point, probably he put it fwd too strongly What he means is if U really want to see results, it's really safer To Look for a more established surgeon, if not u might end up wasting grafts for no reason and u can't get back those grafts no matter how rich u r. However I understand u have financial constraints so it's very tough Why not I suggest this? Learn as much abt the procedures from this forum n make sure u ask your desired surgeon to get a feel on how he or she is, then u make the judgement call on whether to proceed with it Whatever your decision is, we are all brothers in arms fighting the same monster n we wish u all the best
  10. lol. Janna, when u come to a point whereby u wake up in the morning to take a leak and refusing to stare in the mirror, and also to notice nothing but hair on others head while accompanying ur spouse for shopping, u will understand how despondent i am yah i guess i was just having wild conjecture... And for the record, Gillenator, yup the pain shld be quite excruciating think i have been sleeping too little these days...
  11. Hi guys, am sure loads of u have thought of this before. Just curious, why cant we extract hair from down under ( below the belt) ? I mean, i am very sure i am not suffering from MPB in that area and we can extract 2k grafts easily Ok fine, maybe not exactly hairline material, unless u have Einstein frizzy hair in the first place and the texture seems fitting  Maybe to the crown ? Any opinions?
  12. Janna, i will be having the same issue too, having my scar from the previous surgery being exposed for the first couple weeks after FUE. It will be good to see how things turn out for Orlhair
  13. thanks for the answers and well wishes guys! Another concern i have is i already have a scar from my first FUT and i am undergoing FUE for my 2nd round... prob i have to live with the fact that it will be exposed for the first couple weeks before my donor heals...
  14. thanks guys, thats what i thought too but the 2nd op is just so important to me right now that i am not gonna take any chances. Yup i will rest for a day before going for the op. I will be like flying half a globe of distance! Wish me luck! I really need it...
  15. I beg to differ. I understand how tough its to conceal but i have been able to achieve some success with the following method. I am a huge fan of nanogen as i feel they are the most natural looking but spreading from the bottle lacks the punch that the toppik spray has. I typically empty the nanogen bottle into the toppik bottle and uses the toppik spray. Aim for the hair at the frontline more horizontally and give it a few hard sprays. It worked marvellously for me to conceal my thinning hair line hope that helps!
  16. Hi guys, it seems nobody has started a thread on this before. I come from S'pore, a tropical island and i am actually keen to embark on my 2nd HT after a massive failure on the first one. I am going to SMG for my 2nd procedure in Minnesota, but its winter now and i am just worried the sudden change in temp might cause some physiology changes in my body and i m not gonna risk ANYTHING at all, considering i lost more than 3k grafts in my first procedure for nothing. Does anyone think that i m overly concerned with what the sudden climate change can do to my physiology, hair wise...
  17. i am so glad i will be trying out the new Artas system with the new punch under SMG March, here i come!
  18. i agree. wearing a piece at the age of 20... just does not sound like a good idea. try shaving it off. u nvr know! maybe u can pull off that look all the best!
  19. Nah please dun shave bald if u can look decent with concealers. I am not sure why others would advise that it looks fake but no, it doesnt unless the person scrutinize under v v harsh lights else u defn can get away with it but obviously ur family will know abt it
