  1. i am sorry to hear that. which dr did u go to and post some pics ya
  2. Sunny, i forgot to reply on your question on whether i will shave it all in time to come. Unless really absolutely, i have nvr considered myself for that option but even if the surgery did go bad, i prob jus goto keep a certain standard asian hair length to cover up. We asians rarely shave down I cannot pull that look off
  3. hi guys, thanks for the valuable opinions! pls keep them coming! However, it seems there is no certain conclusion which is better... Sunny, to answer your questions, i prob dun think i will lose that much until a norwood 6 or beyond. Prob 1 HT can last me a decade or so..hopefully! Yes u r right abt FUE on FUT scar but lets not venture into that now ya? It will be disastrous to assume such a route even b4 my 1st HT costs wise, i think its not an issue with me. i do not need the best bang for my buck. wat worries me are all other issues besides the cash involved. i have limited choices.. Dr Pat is the nearest doc for me and hey i have done some research on this site ( kudos to all who made this site so relevant and informative ! ) I will prob stick to him unless someone can really persuade me that FUE is better...Besides him, i have no other surgeon in my vicinity who has that much experience, and needless to say they are not recommended on this site ( but does not mean they aren't good ) but we all know how impt a HT is to us so its better to be precarious... i can afford the cash but i cannot afford to fly all the way to states for HT due to work commitments... so i guess all in all, that leaves me with no choice ya? Does anyone have really a bad experience with FUT? If so, i really would appreciate some comments here! Btw, Dr Pat is using the open technique, widely known as the trico closure which i believe the regulars in this community are quite familiar with...
  4. Hi guys, sorry if this issue has been addressed over and over again! just wanted to showcase my scenario so u experts out there can share some valuable information! I am nearly certain to go for HT, to be done by Dr Pathomvanich from Bangkok ( he is a recommended surgeon in this community ). I am currently 32, with receding hairline, and has been told that i need less than 2000 grafts to achieve satisfactory overall density. My crown is probably still quite ok... Anyway according to Dr, my donor area is fine, and quite lax... so all in all, i am a gd candidate for HT. Question is Dr Path only performs FUT these days... i was all along gunning for FUE since i always felt strip procedure are more for huge hair losers, maybe in the range of 3k and above. I was also consoled by the fact that the tricho closure will probably meant that the scar will be optimally undetectable.. I have gone thru tons of pics of HT patients undergoing FUE... the moth holes dun look pretty. in fact, with strip, u can easily cover up with longer hair at the back... but i understand that no matter how well hidden the scar is, u can nvr shave bald since there is indeed a scar which obviously u hope nobody will want to find out. Sorry for the lenghty story, but can anyone chip in some thoughts? Btw, i reside in the vicinity of Bangkok, so i have limited choices and from what i see, Dr Pat is performing at a high level, so i am quite certain i will be going to him...
  5. hey sunny yah i will upload the photos soon i am 32, and prob 1800-1900 grafts... i m losing at the hairline with crown firmly in tact ( from dr ) and yah my dad has obviously less hair now compared to decades ago but not that bad... My concern now is quite simple, i am defn going for a HT, and nearly 99% sure i m choosing Dr Path but question is whether FUE or FUT is more suitable for me.. think u r right man, i will set up another thread
  6. hey sunny, thats the key, i m not that heavy a loser yet. hence i prob need less than 2k just to fill in the hairline and front scalp. i have heard that FUE suits candidates who require less than 2k grafts. In Asia, the only one who i really think i can trust with my head literally on the surgical table is Dr Path but he has made it clear that he does not perform FUE anymore... so i m confused. however, i have gone thru quite a few pictures of FUE procedures... its not pretty... so many moth holes... so in fact, FUT seems cleaner as we can use hair on our back of the head to cover. any advice anyone?
  7. sorry for typo, its NOT offering FUE, only FUT... anyone care to chip in some opinions? much appreciated!!!
  8. hi sunny! u sure 10days is enuff for u to go back into resuming ur usual workout? thats part of my concern too but no big deal. hair is more impt! of cos they have to shave a bit ( sorry i wasn;t making sense when i wrote it ) how else can the dr make the incision to cut the strip... but the thing is i m prob going for less than 2k grafts and dr is now offering FUE, only FUT, so i m not sure if a permanent scar ( albeit a really fine one in the hands of a gd dr ) but still the risk is there... however, dr has made it v v clear he does not perform FUE anymore...
  9. sunny, just to check with u, did dr shave any part of hair prior to surgery? also, i took a gd look at ur scar. yes the scar is not that wide but the part above and below the scar are devoid of hair. did he shave it?
  10. yo sunny! i see! nah i will stay there as long as it takes, but dr has assured me the worst scenario is 5 days max. hey, i m 32 and if i dun do something now, i will prob look worse than anyone here at 55! i just v troubled by it, else i will not ve decided to go under the knife ur scar looks clean... or is it not? i dun really know how to gauge u can start some light exercising just 1 week after surgery?
  11. hi sunny! hey thanks for the reply! I think no matter wat, u have to take off ur cap at the customs, its unavoidable but hey, like u said, just look straight, smile, and just move on. they might stare but nobody is going home remembering how u look like! for me, Dr Oravan has indicated to me 2000 or less grafts as i only have issues with my hairline and prob front part of the scalp. My crown is firmly in tact. Mind u i m just 32 so i guess its probably not that bad but bad enuff for me to go under the knife! On the stitches, u did not wait till the 5th day to return to clinic to remove them? I think i will prob stay in BKK for 5 days until i m certified to go home by the dr! Oh, btw, Dr has indicated that i can use concealer 5 days after surgery, but i guess it depends on how fast i heal... However, if thats the case, i prob dun even need to worry on the customs I am wishing u the best of luck, your success will be my success too! thanks!
  12. hi guys. glad to find a funny thread lingering in the community. but hey come on, this issue should not deter anyone from undergoing an HT right?????? But kudos to the thread starter, as well as the corny comments keep it up
  13. hi sunny! wow ur words have empowered me! Think i probably will settle for a date but i need to make sure my work is affected to the bare minimum. I was quite worried abt the pain but felt better after ur assurance! Anyway which hotel did u stay? U still went out for shopping? OMG! Did u notice anyone looking at u? What head gear did u don? Oh before i forget, did u get much swelling on the forehead? Lastly, at the airport, i supposed u have to remove ur head gear? I do not think the customs will allow u to board without first requesting u to remove ur gear... thats of concern to me. wats ur take? thanks!!!
  14. Bill, kudos to all the work u have done for this community for fellow hair-losers like us. Guess only the hair-losers can understand the agony... its affecting me nearly every moment hence the decision to go under the knife. I am 32 btw, and staying in the vicinity of Thailand. Just a receding hairline with my crown in tact. The dr recommended me to just fill in the hairline and temple and continue using minox to keep the crown. I am quite against the idea of using Propecia as i m worried abt the side effects All in all, just wanted to say thanks on behalf of this community thanks!
  15. hi sunny coastman! i was in his clinic a day before u! but i just had a basic consultation with dr oravan. spotted dr pat with another patient who i believed had his HT done a day ago as he was ushered in for shampooing! i am close to 100% in choosing Dr Pat, he recommended me 2300 grafts but that was due to the lower hairline i requested. All in all, i decided to stick to the current hairline so i prob need 2000 or below I had a friend who had gone thru HT, though not with Dr Pat. He was telling me abt the extreme pain he went thru during the procedure. Any comments? Also, the kind lady doc assured me that i can use toppik/nanogen a week after surgery. Were u using it before the HT? thanks!!!
  16. yes didi has asked the exact same question as i had wanted. u did a FUT with tricophytic closure? i had an appt with them and the nice doc insists that thats the way to go, rather than FUE. I was quite intent on FUE but undecided now. I think Dr Pat does not offer FUE anymore... my pt and biggest worry is the scar? Since it has been a few months since ur procedure, hows the scar? Any pictures? thanks!!!
  17. hey hi, i reside in S'pore and has been considering a HT for ages. Was very interested in Dr P, from Bangkok so would like to ask u on some advice! I heard that u have to book him in advance a couple months. is that true? I mean, u flew purposely from India to find him, i suppose after the 1st consultation, u decided to go ahead? thanks!!!
