  1. After my first HT I was back in the gym on day 7 after the surgery. Bike for the legs, 50% of normal weight for upper body weight work. Had some stinging from the sweat and felt the tension on the scar. Dont do situps, shrugs, chins, squats or deadlift for at least a month, and then not heavy. be careful of any shoulder pressing and lat pulldowns. As the doc said any exercise that makes the traps work will pull on the scar and shoulder presses work traps to a certain extent. Also keep breathing through the movement. You will find that helps alot. Holding your breath while you lift increases tension in the scalp and on the scar. After my second HT I waited 2 weeks and it felt much better. No stinging, scar felt good. My advice is to wait 2 weeks after surgery then back in the gym on light weights, higher reps. I think exercise aids healing as well. cheers, Sunny
  2. Dont give up hope. 2nd HTs do take longer, and if its in the crown it can take alot longer. After my first HT it all happened fast, but on my second the crown has taken 11 months. I dont think I will be fully done with matured thickness until around 15 months. All the best. sunny
  3. Yes it does. It makes a difference to how people respond to you. I know. I was the mostly bald guy who noticed the lack of interest by the ladies. now I have hair and I notice the difference. people warm to you. ladies notice you. Its not that you lacked confidence, its others perception of you. my 2 HTs have been one of the greatest blessings of my life. My self confidence is normal now. I feel ok even good when I look in the mirror. Ladies smile at me more and talk more. my hair dosnt worry me. Ok Its cost me 20 grand. best 20, 000 dollars I ever spent. Go for it I reckon. cheers Sunny
  4. The biggest reason is that if you exhaust all your donors and have further hair loss theres nothing left to fill in the gaps. I could go for a third HT. Im 58. had two Hts. One left if I want, I reckon. In the back of my mind I would like the last one in reserve. So, answer is depends on your age and expected level of hair loss (if we ever know what that might be). cheers Sunny
  5. When I first started taking propecia I noticed a change. No morning wood. change in semen consistency. I was worried but persevered. It took about 4 months before my body accustomed itself and i felt some normality. that was 3 years ago.Im still on 1.25mg per day and no ED problems. There is a way to get around ED I think. look up "JELQ" online. Its a powerful erection stimulent. Pain in the bum to do and you'll probably need some porn for it but it works. 20 minutes every 3rd day. It will supercharge your libido. Plus you'll end up with increased size. Who dosnt want that!!...Lol. good luck.
  6. I had 4000 grafts in 2009. Quite major. Hint. before you go for the surgery say that you need to have a lesion on your scalp removed. When you come back with a hat say the scar dosnt look nice so you prefer to keep it covered. Thats what I did. I wore a hat in the office for 3 months. No one questioned it because I guess they thought I had a cancer removed and didnt want to ask. I had another 2000 grafts in 2011. No hat needed becz i didnt shave down. i have way more hair now than before my first transplant in 2009. No-one has noticed. they just get used to the gradual change and forget how you were. cheers, Sunny
  7. Its really really important you find a reputable surgeon who has done alot and I mean a hell of alot of eyebrow transplants with consistently good results with proof to back it up. talk to a couple of his ex patients on the phone and get the truth of what you can expect. The angle of the hairs, the shape, the number of grafts, the yield rate....all so important. Especially the angle of the hairs, get that wrong and they will be all over the place when they grow. Do you know that the transplanted hair will grow 3x faster than your eyebrow hair so you will have to trim them more often. You may also have to use some hair wax on them each day to keep them in line. I had mine done and my girlfriend had hers done at the same time. That was almost 7 months ago. Im very happy I did it ( in conjunction with my HT). The right doctor is the difference between success and a major disaster. cheers, Sunny

  9. I did go to thailand...to Dr Path. Del Mondo are voracious parasites feeding on the unsuspecting and uneducated. Stay away. And they will rape your wallet as well!! Go to thailand. Sunny.
  10. I made an appointment after hours to see them on a saturday...drove 2 hours from the sunshine coast to gold coast and they never showed up. Stay away!!
  11. Im a kiwi living in oz. I wouldnt go to anyone in nz or australia. Do a search for Dr Pathomvanich and Dr Pong in thailand. You'll get a good HT, have a nice time there and save thousands. cheers, Sunny
  12. I live in australia. I recently had a HT with Dr pathomvanich(thailand) and had 200 grafts into each eyebrow at the same time as my eyebrows had got very sparse from halfway to the outer edge. Happens to alot of guys as they get older and it ages you. It will make more difference to the way i look than the 2000 odd grafts into my hair. It has also lifted my eyebrow line as well. My gf also had 200 in each eyebrow at the same time and it looks really good. He took quite a long time drawing the outline in discussion with us. Downside is you will have to trim them ever couple of weeks or less because the transplanted hair grows twice as fast as eyebrow hair. Also matching the coarseness of the natural eyebrow hair can be a problem if you have very coarse head hair and fine eyebrow hair. Its hard to find info on eyebrows here thats why Im posting. I dont know how good dr path is at eyebrows (i didnt research it because i have confidence in him) but hes very good at hair and he has done plenty of eyebrow transplants so i expect the same high degree of work as he is renowned for. Maybe you could email him and ask for examples of his work. path_d@hotmail.com Theres an underscore between path and d. Its a starting point anyway. Cost was based on the number of grafts. Up to 200 grafts each eyebrow was a flat fee around $1800 (1550 if the hair is done at the same time). I wouldnt go to any doctor in australia personally. You may have to do a fair amount of research to find someone. I'll post some before and afters once mine have grown back in( about 60% of mine shed in the first few weeks which is normal so will be another couple of months before the full result) Good luck. Sunny
  13. Looks interesting. Anyone actually used this product? Observations after 2 minutes on their website. The before and after photos show a bald crown area NW6 as completely covered in by this product. If it clings to hairs to thicken them how does it fill in an area with no hair? Also I thought toppik and and nonogen were negatively charged to cling to the hair. The caboki website claims their product is 200% stronger because other products are positively charged and therefore weaker. Would like to hear what others think here. cheers, sunny
  14. I posted this in the wrong area to begin with. But I did go back to the gym on day 13 after my HT. Last HT it was day 7 and the scar stung with the sweat and I felt the tension with too much effort. This time no problem except a slight blood spot when my hat rubbed when I was doing bench presses one day, so Im more careful now. The big difference this time to last is the scar feels tight and neater than last time and has healed really well ( by the way the tech did the sew up this time....dr path has trained them really well dare I say better than him!). So how the scar is sewn up makes a big difference. Ive been able to get back to my usual weights fast this time including all the no no exercises. But the nose job is the main problem now even after almost 6 weeks. too intense on the weights increases the swelling so I have to throttle off for a bit damn it all.
  15. Gidday again. I haven’t posted for a while but have still been checking this site now and then. This year has been the year that I have attended to a few aspects of my appearance (some that I had never thought about changing – ie teeth and nose) and a second HT. (I did my first with Dr path 21 months ago – 4160 grafts at age 56). Some might say Ive gone over the top on the cosmetic carousel but I figured what the hell, why not, we get a HT to improve our appearance dont we so why limit it to hair?? ... its only money and a few weeks of discomfort. We have a HT to improve our looks, confidence and hopefully look our age instead of 10 years older, isn’t that right. Anyway it did that for me after my first HT resulting in way more confidence and feeling better about myself than I had in years. Although hair was my focus the 2nd time as well my lady (bless her) pointed out that it not just having more hair that could improve my appearance, so in march 2011 I did a course of invisalign to straighten a few lower front teeth. Its taken 6 months but I now have perfectly straight and white teeth. Cost $4000, but worth it because my bite was corrected as well which Im hoping will stop me chipping my front teeth every year like I have been doing. Costly but worth it I think in the long run. While planning my HT in Thailand my lady suggested (shes good at that :-) ) I get my old amalgam fillings replaced(half price in Thailand) and my nose refined as well (yes I’m a sucker for her advice :-) ), since we would be in Thailand and recovering from the HT so why not do the other stuff and recover from it all at once, and it would be lots cheaper. Sounds logical... sounds efficient , so me being dopey me I said yeh, too easy , why the hell not. And like I said its about appearance isn’t it (vanity of course :-) and for a little discomfort and a few grand I get to live out my life feeling confident and good about myself. Its worth it in my opinion and these days cosmetic surgery is mostly safe and the cost is within most peoples ability to fund(I scrimped and saved for a year for mine). Main thing is to find reputable doctors. So my lady (taking many many hours) did all the research and questioning and correspondence for my nose and off we went. I had 8 black amalgam(not good for you Im told) fillings replaced at Bumrungrad hospital the day after I arrived in Bangkok and then the day after that on 12th august, and like a lamb to the slaughter, thinking it was going to be a walk in the park because i hadn’t researched it, I went in to get my nose “refined”.....smart huh?? Uh.... maybe not because afterwards it looked anything but refined and I came out looking like I’d done 15 rounds with Muhummad Ali!!....what a sad and sorry mess, and rueing the decision and blaming my girlfriend for the dumb idea :-)!!. (See the pic on my blog). That pic was taken Sunday 14th Aug. My HT was Tuesday 16th Aug. I felt as bad as I looked and was worried Dr path would take one look and send me on my merry way. But the swelling went down a bit and I had my 2nd HT with Dr Path on 16 August 2011, 1 year and 9 months after my first. The second time I was not as consistent with my scalp exercises so I was only able to get 2650 grafts but I was still in there for 8 hours. I skimped on the painkillers so i would be more awake and not hurt my nose so felt a few pricks but all in all it went well. I had the second HT to fill in some sparseness on the crown and thicken up the frontal sides a little. Dr path put the grafts in to my hair from the last transplant. Im hoping for minimal shock loss. Ive been on propecia for 2 years so maybe that will help in that respect. My first HT was very successful so I was happy to go for the 2nd one again with Dr Path. It was quite easy this time and without the fear of the unknown. Once again he and his team were awesome and I highly recommend him. I originally intended to have all the grafts in my scalp but my lady pointed out to me that my eyebrows were thin (isn’t she wonderful!! :-) . Many men lose brows as they get older and i had gaps and very thin towards the outside making me look like I had very short thin and messy eyebrows so I decided to have them done too while my hair was being done. Cost was $1550 in conjunction with the HT. I used 400 grafts (200 each brow) and to me it has made a huge difference to my overall appearance. A very good decision and will have more impact than the 2250 hairs put into my scalp. Good brows are essential for framing your eyes and adding strength and impact to the face. Dr Path shaped them in a classic male brow look. Ive shed about 60% of them to date. So it all went pretty well I feel. The techs did the scar closure and my scar is neater and better this time than last. A month down the line my donor feels great. The swelling in my nose is gradually going down and the shape seems pretty good. Its not alot different just more pleasing to the eye. But it takes 6months to a year to see the final result of that. I returned to work(office worker) on 29th August, 17 days after the nose and 13 days after the HT. I was back into the gym doing weights that day with no problems. No-one at work commented or said I looked different so that worked out good. So thats it.....Of course between the beat ups I got I enjoyed my holiday in Bangkok with lots of curries and beer and relaxing :-). Ive added some photos to my blog if youre interested . Cheers, Sunny
