    Hey guys , so I just got done with my surgery with h&w .. n their pre-ol instructions is to not spray anything or do anything to the grafts for the first 5 days , let the grafts air dry n heal naturally .. after that I can start shampooing the grafts and getting rid of the crusts ..

    this contracdicts a lot of what I read online and also other clinics recommendations .. they seem to say spray the grafts with saline/water every hour for the first two days and gently shower every to soften the crusts .. what is the truth ? N the better post op care ? What did u guys do ?

    oh wait so just to clarify @Legend007. You didn't touch or get the grafts wet for the first 5 days then and let it dry and heal naturally?

    R u taking a shower everyday ? It’s important to keep ur scalp clean .. u can still wash ur hair without touching them n dislodging them .. i shampooed my native hair , the top n back .. n scrub it a little bit with shampoo  to get some of the soap suds then I tapped the suds onto the recipient , so the soap can clean n keep the recipient area moist n clean .. I leave it like that for 5-10 minutes , after that I let the shower head hit the top of my head n let the water flow down to the recipient area .. its important to be hygienic ..

    Dr. Diep instructed me not to get my recipient wet at all for the first 3 days so I have not showered my head at all. I've been going to the clinic and they did the hair wash just on the donor area and then my last donor wash is tomorrow. Then on day 4 i am instructed to go ahead and wash the recipient area pretty much in the exact same method you are saying so i was gonna wait until day 4.

  3. @Melvin-Moderator i think i have found the answer to these new members posting these first post reviews with no pics Melvin that everybody thinks are 'fake' or are to butcher Dr. Diep's reputation. This gentleman is literally the same person who was just featured on Dr. Dieps youtube channel today as he does every friday as we all know. You know its legitimate as he mentions the patients name in the video as well as talking about his hair loss journey during the 7 minute testimonial. I just think that these first time posters who create an account and do these 1 post reviews are just doing the clinic a favor for receiving their outstanding results. I am assuming they are posting the day that they go back to the clinic to visit Dr. Diep for these 6-12 month follow ups as I've noticed doing some research.

  4. Day 2 post op: so it seems that the blood on the recipient area is really crusting up. Dr. Diep says just let it be and don’t touch anything so I will do as he says. As for day 4 when the time comes and I am instructed to indirectly wash with shampoo water on the recipient area, I have a hard time imagining these crusts are gonna come out? Is it ok to just leave the stubborn crusts be on the recipient area until they naturally fall off with the flow of water? I wanna play it save and not dislodge any grafts whatsoever by rubbing it off

  5. So I noticed for my graft breakdown I only had about 200 single hair roots. It seems the majority were multi roots. Do you think this may cause my hairline to look less natural due to the lesser amount of single root grafts being able to be placed in front for that softer look? Just curious what you guys think or know about this matter. Im not really worried because I know Diep's hairline results have never ever looked unnatural but curious what u guys think?

  6. @elduterino honestly if i could go back i think i would have just went with shaving it all off haha! I am now dreading day 4 post op when i have to gently pour mixed shampoo onto the recipient area... i just feel like its gonna be such a mess with my greasy long hair on top in the way and such. luckily i planned on going into hermit mode for like 2 months so shaving my entire head wouldnt have been a big deal to me

  7. @baldlivesmatter Just had my surgery with Dr. Diep yesterday and he also harvest my grafts mainly from just one side. He elavorated the rationale behind this and it makes complete sense so I was fine with it. By 12 months coming around there will be no notice that 1 side is more sparse than the other in the donor area! Just wanted to let you know

  8. Just came back from my first hair wash today. Not gonna lie it kinda of stung/burned when they washed the donor area XD.

    I spoke with Dr. Diep 1 on 1 again today in his office to talk about how everything went. He really does care about his patients and he straight up just told me to give him my phone so he can put in his number and to text him whenever I want.

    Today i also found out my graft breakdown as follows;

    Total = 2049 grafts via FUE

    Singles = 201 grafts

    Doubles = 1206 grafts

    Triples = 522 grafts

    Quadruples = 120 grafts

    all these grafts straight into the hairline so i am hoping for a nice dense hairline in the coming 12 months!

  9. @jj51702 He gave me 5 pills to take prior to surgery. It was tylenol for inflammation, metocloparamide for nausea, cephalexin which is a pre procedure antibiotic,  and 2 pills of valium which is for anxiety and a very slight sedative. I am a pharmacy student so i literally knew everything he was giving me so he quizzes me on what the meds were before i took them haha. And it doesn't really knock you out cold. It just makes you feel very relaxed and chilling so i was conscious for most of my procedure to be honest.

    However, I do know the FUT patients are more knocked out because they're giving IV Midazolam which has a much higher sedative effect in case you were wondering.

  10. Also I did receive both the ACell and Amniofill injections for 500$ and $600 respectively. Not sure if theyre beneficial but i figured why not giving that i paid so much already. Im actually not even sure when I got these because I don't recall being stuck in the arm at all. Maybe theyre injections in the head? Not sure if someone can elaborate.

    Also I will remember to ask the clinic how many singles, doubles, and triple hair grafts I got tomorrow when i go get my hair wash. I forgot to ask today.
