  1. Officially 5 weeks post op as of today: It appears I am definitely shedding. A lot of my hairs are starting to fall limp or kind of just lay flat which I assume is preparation to be shed but I am not sure.

Additionally, my scalp looks like it has this white stuff after I shower when my scalp is wet which from reading online is just the grafts soaking up water and it disappeared when your scalp dries but not too sure. Has anyone else had experience with this?

  2. at 5 weeks Post op I am experiencing this exact situation as the OP. Does anyone know how to remove this white stuff thats directly on the scalp? I'm afraid I was being too gentle the first couple weeks post-surgeryYou can really only see it when your head is wet after you shower. It seems like it will only come off if i use my nails to rub it off? Is this recommended? I don't what this white material to inhibit any growth which is why I ask.

  3. Look forward to your journey my friend. I am currently 1 month post op with Dr. Diep. Things seem to be coming along.

I had the a-cell as well, do you recall it being administered to you at all anytime during the procedure? Or were you too knocked out? Because I don't recall it being administered. I actually paid 1000 for both a-cell and amniofill.

  4. Hello I am exactly 1 month post op from my FUE and have been shedding some of these 2-3 multi graft hairs every now and then. I took a picture of 1 and what it looks like below and just wanted to know if this is normal and if anyone experienced this as well with their multi hairs that shed? This one in particular you can tell is 3 hairs in like this cluster with a clear/white thing attached to it.

  5. Day 28 post op: (1 month basically). Don’t think a rapid shed has hit yet. I shed like a few hairs in the shower but nothing rapid that would just take me right to the ugly duckling stage like most people at this point in the recovery goes yet... any feedback would be appreciated. Is it a good or bad thing if I end up being the 10% that don’t go through an ugly duckling stage in terms of early growth goes?

Thinking about starting to hit the gym again finally after playing it safe and waiting for a month lol I’ve been dying to get back in there.

    Hows it looking?

Day 25 post op: I still haven't really noticed any like rapid shedding. Did you experience like very gradual shedding? I'm not sure when i will hit that phase where it looks like 95% of the hairs fall off like most lol. It seems that the pinkish tint on the recipient area is starting to slowly fade away, hows yours?

Hey all ., just to let y’all know I’m not going to be too active on my own thread :) it’s already stressful worrying about future hairloss n now have to worry about if the transplant hair will grow or not .. so I’m just going to let the process take care of itself .. I hardly look in the mirror to check if new hairs are growing n stuff .. so far things are going fine .. I’m fortunate to have enough hair to cover up the transplant . So no one knows I got anything done .. been wearing a hat at work n stuff however . Thank goodness I look good in a hat .. so the ugly duckling stage hasn’t been difficult .. I should be able to tough it out. It’s been no big deal .. I’ve been through more difficult things in life , so this is no big deal to me ..

The hairs have just started to shed .. I’ve been brushing it the last few days to get the transplanted hairs to fall out, to prepare for new growth .. some of my native hairs have started to grow also , so hopefully that is a good sign .. the redness isn’t too bad , skin texture is okay .. still needs more time to heal .. hopefully things turn out well ..

Pics are at one month ..

Hey @Legend007could you or anyone else clarify what you meant by brushing your hair out intentionally to get the transplanted hairs to shed? Is it normal practice to forcefully try to brush out the hairs to get them to shed for the ugly duckling phase?

Is there some overwhelming desire to scrub your head?  Why not play it safe?  I went at least 2 months with just putting shampoo on and rinsing, and letting it air dry.  You just paid a kings ransom to get the implants and you can't be gentle for a little while.

@Dazed This is my exact mindset as well. I do want to play it safe. But the reason i ask this was because I had heard if you don't clean the recipient area "well enough" then the lingering mini flakes and sebum build up on the scalp in the recipient area can inhibit growth... There is no desire for my to scrub my head, I absolutely want to just put shampoo on it, rinse it and just let it air dry lol. I just want to make sure

  9. @Jiveturkey82 I personally think it is just shock loss which is very temporary from what I hear. Here is what my donor looks like 18 days post op. I’m personally still unsure of when shock loss actually occurs after a procedure. I was under the impression that it’s immediately after but perhaps not. I’ve heard it can happen a couple weeks after? I don’t think I’m experiencing any shock loss yet (fingers crossed). I also wonder if the acell and amniofill injection that I did may have helped with healing? Who knows..

  10. Hello all I am currently 18 days post-op FUE and was wondering if anyone with experience started to shampoo and massage your recipient area like you would pre-surgery? I dont know why but I am still very gentle on massaging and cleaning the recipient area when i shower and Im afraid I may not be using enough force to get all these little tiny white crusts/flakes out of the scalp. I feel like I have a mental barrier that I can't pass because of just being delicate about the grafts post op surgery.

My question is: were you guys still very gentle on the recipient area this many days post op? Or did you just resume your normal showering routine massaging everywhere like you would when you shampoo your hair?
