  1. hey Egy ... what happened to your biopsy report ? , sorry did not mean to hijack this thread
  2. I do not think a celebrity star like rooney , for whom money does not matter , went to a cheap clinic , lets all admit that transplanted hair do not last forever in my opinion , if you are not on medication like the dreaded finasteride or some other dht blocker ..... period ...... , donor hair is susceptible to dht in the recipient area as it appear to be quiet strong along the frontal hairline mid and crown , so no matter from where you take it , dht will attack it on the frontal zones unless you block it .
  3. I do not agree , I have personally had a horrid experience with fin , and also many of my friends have as well , i developed sides after 5 months and depression after that , had to stop urgently but the sides continued and it took me 1 full year to get my old self back , but 2 of my friends were not so lucky they crashed after 3 and 5 years and have since not recovered fully , one is a bad case of gyno and has already done surgery and the other just does not feel like his old cheerful self again . I just frown at the mere thought of taking this drug again , it just fucks your neuro transmitters .
  4. he has always been on finasteride since his 1st HT till date , im talking of people who do not use that drug as the sides are very serious .
  5. and that tribe of a Select few is growing by leaps and bound , mind you a few years back such issues were rarely surfacing , now its becoming much more . esp if you do not take propecia as the sides almost overwhelm you as it did in my case , i too had a robust HT but it all tapered in 2 years and the thinning is ongoing with the donor being very stable .
  6. curious , then dude what are you doing here on a hair loss forum ? i presume you have bph and not mpb .......
  7. who has said that any doctor can safely predict where a safe zone really is ? its all assumption ..... and who says that the so called safe zone lacks dht ? have you ever heard of donor safe zone miniaturization? and how do you explain why so many guys have started complaining that their transplants are falling out ? my take , and maybe im wrong , is that we had many more people opt for HT after the advent of fue as most guys resist the linear scar and many feel its barbaric ... so most cases of fue are relatively new around 2012 onwards , so now many guys after a few good years suddenly see a gradual thinning of their transplants .... and mind you neither these guys are having any donor miniaturization nor are their safe zones been trespassed ( no good doctor would do that ) , and also the theory of native hair fall out is not true , as most guys were slick bald in that area before the HT , so they are sure its not native thinning , so the only cause an effect i think is the dht being strongly circulated in the mid frontal and crown that is eventually causing the fall out ( if you are not on propecia ) , so its utmost necessary that we get on some dht blocking tactic or else we will gradually loose many/ all transplanted hair along with native thinning also , but the sides are too over whelming from propecia and i had to quit it after 5 months as i was having serious sides and depression , luckily it took me 1 year to feel normal again , but there are some who never recover and say their never feel like their old self even after quitting the medicine , hence many like me just have no option but to junk it . just my opinion others surely can educate me , as im open to learning not debating .
  8. I have already written of this some years back on this forum , my take is that the donor safe hair when relocated to the recipient area acquires the character of the recipient area and is susceptible to dht ... so in theory you have to be on propecia for life or else these HT will probably fall out ... i stopped finasteride due to sexual sides and depression and it took me a solid 1 year to feel normal again , but some unlucky guys never feel their old self gain and have permanent sides .... so i better avoid that junk . also many guys have recently reported this phenomenon that after 1 year of robust growth , the transplants thin out and fall ..... not all but the hair mass surely decreases. so in a way HT are not as permanent as once thought .
  9. I just cannot come to terms with FUT ,...... the open the skull and shut seems too barbaric to me ..... anyways the work looks neat and refined ... but just not for me , i prefer FUE
  10. i fully agree with you ..... if you read my thread few years back .... i had written about the same things that im loosing transplanted hair after 15 months , and even mine was full bloom at months 8 - 12 , after that they started falling out ,,.... but no one agreed , im glad you agree with the same thought , and why i'm 100 percent sure if its my transplanted hair ? ... well the area from where i lost density after 15 months was slick bald so its obvious only transplanted hair had to fall as there were no native hair in that area to begin with ..... i am also a believer that the recipient area does have any influence on the donor hair and the DHT kills it .
  11. hey Bill it would be of interest to the community if you could post your latest pics showing all angles and under harsh lights , its been a while we haven't seen your pics , also what is your present day regimen? , among all things this would be a good educational interest considering that your transplants were done years ago , so how much the results have sustain etc ..... just my suggestion .
  12. Absolutely agree with you , you seemed to have researched the effects of finasteride very well , I developed sides at 5 months ... prior months were as if all the horror stories I read on google were just a big BS , until at the 5th month sides slowly crept up including ED watery semen and DEPRESSION .... i was forced to quit cold turkey in just after 15 days of the first bout of depression hitting me , i still remember how i was sinking and crying each day . took me about a year to feel normal again , I do consider myself lucky as i have read some ppl never feel their old self again even after stopping the drug for a good 5-7 years . on this site i have read a few members posting how they tolerated the drug very well till about 3-4 years and then BANG the sides came heavily and caused them to crash , in my opinion its best to avoid .... but that judgement is purely on the risk taker ..... your life your problem.
  13. you are out of touch with reality , finasteride disrupts the endocrine system .... as estrogen raises on supression of dht .... do not blindly follow the pharma research . they have a motive .... watery semen , ED and mood swings , Depression , suicidal thoughts... and most lethal PFS just do not happen without messing the hormonal balance ,and there is NO smoke without fire ... why do you think so many men complain ? ... who doesn't want more hair ? , yet there are so many who dont wanna touch that shit .... WHY? when i started propecia 2 years back i also thought all this is BS and only a small percentage of men have sides , and I was also ware of the nocebo effect ... yet it took life out of me just after 5 months , but luckily I recovered after 1 year , but I do not want to debate ,as i know this will get endless . in the end ... its your life ...... its your Problem the hormonal balance is very delicate even a minor tampering throws the body out of wack ,,,,, what are you talking of man ? do you have any knowledge on the subject ?
  14. I do not agree, at age 26 your hair loss is not stable in the first place , secondly at this young age it is impossible for any doctor to accurately predict your safe donor area as donor thinning with age is a reality and in FUE that grafts are taken from all over the donor that itself is a risk that the doctor might over shoot the safe area and that hair wont last long. in my opinion wait till you are 35 as by then even your hair loss will establish a pattern which can be easily predicted by the doctor and your donor hair will be much stable .... and avoid messing with your hormones ... life is too precious too play with fire and then repent for a handful of hair so i would avoid propecia ... anyways in my opinion transplanted hair anyways do not last forever .... i do not buy that theory ... as i believe the Recipient area does have an effect on the transplanted hair and DHT does thin them too over time .
  15. it is not wise to mess with your hormones ... DHT is a mighty one and it has many functions including brain health .... and raising estrogen in general is a bad idea for men ... i had suffered from ED and depression .... and the side effects started after the 5th month till i quit cold turkey after 15 days ... thinking it was just my imagination and the so called nocebo effect ... took me a solid 1 year to recover luckily .
  16. dont touch that junk in my opinion ....
  17. so does that make us believe that FUT is a better procedure after all / ? considering that the top class guys are all fut cases . also i have noticed that fut cases hold hair longer that fue ... maybe because they are always used from the sweetest spot on the donor unlike fue that spreads well outside the permissible zones. your thoughts Melvin ?
  18. wow how did they manage 6000 grafts ... considering his donor looks just average ? amazing
  19. its darn risky as I oppose any tampering with the hormones, is like playing with fire ... esp. if its DHT , be ever prepared to have bouts of depression and low moods . and ED with water like semen .... I wont touch that thing .
  20. the topical does not work as well as the oral as it is absorbed very poorly ...... its waste of effort in my opinion
  21. thanks buddy , yea i agree fibers look un-natural esp. near the hairline ... like someone just sprinkled Dust on the scalp ..... i do not prefer that look ....... in my opinion your hair looks solid without them so you do not need that extra spend and effort .
  22. hey buddy , which product have you used in the pics ? looks great and enhances the result miles on ahead . If i can second guess these look like you used fibers along with derm match and hair spray , correct me if im wrong .
  23. thanks Melvin , but its redkens maneuver cream or WAX ? for pomade i guess and do you apply the redkens maneuver before the derm match or after drying the derm match ?
