  1. I just buy it online from Holland & Barrett's. The brand I use is Dr Organic Aloe Vera Gel.
  2. Week 8 Post Op Another weekly update. Not much has changed from last week except my hair has got a little longer on top. I think I look worse now than I ever have though but reviewing other cases it would seem that the two month mark is when most people look their worse. I think it's because your hair is longer which makes the thinning look worse and you still at this point haven't recovered from shock loss or grown any new hairs neither. Asmed have told me that from here on I should see an improvement as shock loss begins to return and growth can begin over the next four weeks. I've prepared myself to wait to 4 months but I must admit I am beginning to get a little impatient now. I am still getting the odd huge spot here and there but they come and go on there own. I get them in both the recipient and donor area. I have no visible redness or numbness anymore. My donor area as you can see below is completely healed as well now. My hair is probably close to grade 2 here and no scars are visible. I have attached two wet photos, two dry photos and one of the donor area. Will update next week.
  3. In my experience you will always see more negative reviews than positive as nobody is interested in commenting if everything is going well. I'm not advising trying it. You have to decide what plan of action is best for you. I'm just saying that you shouldn't be put off stories of side effects as the majority of people who take it have none. If you do try and have any sides then stop or reduce the frequency. For me, my hair loss was far more important to me than worrying about potential side effects.
  4. The evidence in taking Propecia to stop and reverse hair loss is there for us all to see. If I was you I would personally really consider giving it a go and seeing how you react to it. For me it is the only effective way to manage your hair loss for the long term. Your normal balance is what is causing your hair loss, altering is the only way to make sure you keep what you have. It's a numbers game and transplants can only go so far. I appreciate that some people do experience side effects but there are millions of men taking it everyday with no complications whatsoever. I have been taking it for over 10 years now, no sides and had three children on it.
  5. How you been getting on over the past two weeks Jax? Starting to see an improvement in density yet?
  6. Mine didn't shed evenly either. I'm nearly 8 weeks out and my temples were also the area where more hair remained. I shed some hairs after 2 weeks but the bulk shed between weeks 3 - 5. Everyone is different, I don't think it is a premarker for a good or bad result.
  7. Yeah it does look better when wet. I use aloe vera gel in the morning like a styling product which I also think makes it look better during the day. I like the aloe vera gel so much that I may even just carry on using that as my every day styling product when my hair comes through. There is no point posting anymore than weekly now as all the shedding has finished. I'm not seeing any hairs in my hands when washing and although I can see a few small see through hairs sprouting you wouldn't be able to see them in a picture. Donor area is all healed. I keep it at a grade 1.5 and you can't see any scars. If I go to a grade 1 you can see some but only if you were really looking for it. I'm hoping as the scars heal over time that I will be able to go to a grade 1 in the future. It's pretty much life as normal now.
  8. I think I had about 10% that didn't fall out. Some are growing and have got pretty long but others seem shorter. It's hard to say. I wouldn't worry, it seems that everyone heals / grows differently.
  9. 7 Weeks Post Op Time for another weekly update. The weeks do seem to be gaining some momentum now which is a nice feeling as I was told I should start seeing some growth by 12 weeks so only 5 more to go. Come on!!! Not much to talk about or add. The only issue I've had are huge spots that come and go in different areas on my head. No numbness or redness. Although the redness seems to return a little after a hot shower or after a cardio session. I've attached a wet photo today as it gives a better idea of where I am and you can see the new hairline. Still suffering from shock loss.Mentally I have accepted where I am and not worrying about it.
  10. You have nothing to worry about. I felt the same and honestly as Vainism says below it's nobody else's concern but yours. I'm sat here in my office with at least 25 other people in the middle of the ugly duckling stage looking worse than I ever have and nobody cares. The whole experience is very liberating actually. 10 years of hiding my disappearing hairline and crown. Maybe I would have just shaved it off if I knew how I would feel now. No that's rubbish actually. I want my old hair back. Yeah I wear a cap a fair bit just take it off when I'm inside as ASMED told me it's important to still let the scalp breathe. You speak the truth but I think people have to realise that themselves. I felt exactly the same as the previous poster.
  11. Congratulations on paying the deposit. They are a class outfit so you will be in good hands there. So I heard back from the clinic already and they claim that is not a lost graft just a shed hair that has some skin attached to it. They said if it was a failed graft then there would blood or even dried blood at this stage which there was none. The fact that the hair in question has grown in length as well means that it is fine. Worry over I guess.
  12. That's not i ideal. I have messaged the clinic for their view as well. I suppose as long as it's only a couple that get rejected it shouldn't make too much difference to the final result. Yeah they used the keep implanted on me. Will have a google of that as well. Thanks
  13. Just a quick question for you guys. When washing this morning I had a slight itch on my head in a certain area so I washed it a little harder and this came out. Does that look like a normal graft shedding or is that a lost graft with the bulb attached. There was no blood. Would be shocked at nearly 7 weeks out. Thanks
  14. 6 Weeks Post Op Not much has changed again. Think I have shed a few more hairs in the transplanted area but I think my shed is pretty much over now. As you can see I have experienced some shock loss but I was expecting this given the size of area covered. I'm hopefully about half way now though until I should start to at least see some of the shock loss return and potentially start to see any early growth. It hasn't hugely impacted my life. I just wear a hat when I am out and about. I have had a few itching sensations and a couple of mammoth spots come and go but no discomfort at all. Even the numbness in the front of my head has pretty much gone as well as the redness. As I said before will now update weekly as otherwise I'm just posting the same photos.
  15. What a transformation! I agree with ersko, I don't think there is any need for a further procedure. Being only 30 you can't predict what will happen over the next 20 years do keep those grafts in the bank in case you ever really need them. I am 6 weeks out from my procedure with Dr Erdogan and deep in the ugly duckling phase. Tough times but if I come out of it with hair like you then it would all be worth it.
  16. I switched about two years ago to generic and lost some real ground so switched back to Propecia. I've read other posts where people have experienced similar experiences so keep an eye on it.
  17. I hope so pal. I suffered some shock loss on top so it's looking patchy and thin which isn't a good look. Yeah I hope so. This is a tough time though. I look worse than I ever have.
  18. Day 40 Post Op I have started to realise why many of you make the point of trying to not check your progress daily until the 3 month mark. This is mainly because some days my hair looks like it's thickening and then other days it looks as if I have had another shed. Regardless of this it is near impossible when you are near a mirror not to try and see what has changed. I definitely believe I have had some growth and it seems to be only in the temple region. It's not much but there are new hairs coming through there and that area previously had no hair. As you can see I have experienced a bit of shock loss throughout and my hair looks thinner on top than ever. I had started using the laser comb and minoxidil again though so it could be a shed caused by that. Anyway see for yourself. Wednesday marks 6 weeks and I think I will switch to weekly updates then as not much is happening or changing now.
  19. It's really coming along now! You'll have to show us a picture from further out so we can see how it all blends in now and your new hair line is coming along.
  20. Early Growth?? I'm just about to come to 6 weeks out and I may be completely wrong but I can see lots of little black dots in my new hair line. There was never any hair there before so it can't be my native hair. Is this not too early for transplanted hair to begin growing. I had a lot of itching sensations in the transplanted area for the past two days? I do still have some of transplanted hair growing that has never shed as well. Not sure what to think?? I have attached a photo but quality isn't great will upload another later when home.
  21. Why is this though? I went with Dr Erdogan and I completely trusted him when he told me the number of grafts I needed. But then of course I would. It would be interesting to understand why this is? I don't understand why he would need that many more grafts to achieve a similar result as some other top doctors.
  22. 5 weeks Post Op I am still shedding a few hairs each day but I also think that some of my native hair is starting to grow back especially in the crown area. I'm hoping that my appearance isn't going to get any worse from here as I can actually live with this look. I have had a few big spots appear on my head so I introduced a tea tree shampoo that I use bi-weekly and that seems to have done the job in clearing them up. I am also back in the gym five days a week now and that has definitely eased my anxiety again and given me a focus which I think really helps. The donor area was shaved to a grade 1 at the weekend and nobody has mentioned anything about seeing scars and now only 3 days later I can barely see them. So it would seem that you can just about get away with a grade 1 following FUE. The hair looks like it has product in but it's just Aloe Vera gel. Any questions, just ask.
