  1. Asmed will give you a full list of post operative instructions. I don't think the cold has any bearing on growth but I believe excessive sweating does in the beginning so I guess it being cold isn't a bad thing at all.
  2. Day 7 Post Op So this time last week I was just finishing Day 2 of my procedure. Can't believe how quickly that first week has gone. For any people worrying about the procedure; the surgery and pain afterwards is nothing you can't handle. All of my initial pain and discomfort has all but gone now. The donor area is still a little tender to touch but that is to be expected. Some of the scabs in the recipient area have started coming off now whilst washing. Initial reaction is that the hair underneath doesn't look quite as dense now but I'm sure that's everyone's reaction and I know I have shed a few hairs already. I even tried to count how many hairs were in a 1 cm2 area, it's pretty tough to do but I think it's around 60ish in the frontal area which is what I was told. The donor area looks amazing and only after a week you wouldn't know I had anything done. Even my wife commented that you can't see anything. Considering how short my hair is that is a really encouraging sign as I like to keep my hair short at the back and sides. I've included a picture below of the donor area. I started using organic Aloe Vera gel and Sweet Almond Oil on the donor area yesterday and it completely stopped the itching sensations. Aloe Vera twice a day and Almond Oil once. Will also stop posting pictures of my face now as all the swelling has completely gone as you can see.
  3. Hey Shuriken, I will update as often as I can. In my opinion you can't go far wrong choosing ASMED but make sure you do your research and find a surgeon you are comfortable with.
  4. Hope so! Counting down the days until I can lie my head on my pillow again. Saw your clip online and looked really good. Must be weird watching yourself back. I think I shed a couple of hairs when washing this morning. Is that normal only a week after?
  5. Day 6 Post Op Can't believe a week ago today I was at ASMED on Day 1 of surgery. It goes so quickly but I'm sure time will slow down considerably as I enter the ugly duckling phase. Some scabs are starting to come away during washing in the recipient area which is good news. I am determined to be scab free by Day 10 which is Christmas Eve. Pain seems to be diminishing each day and I had a better night sleep. Most of the scabs in the donor area have come away over the past two days and with only a weeks hair growth that area looks as if there was no surgery at all.
  6. Thanks Yaz, appreciate the words. I am very hopeful but have a long road ahead of me. Funny you should say that as I also spoke to Dr Koray about the possibility of doing some work for him over here in the UK. I got caught up in the atmosphere and people of ASMED and if I'm honest I still miss i / themt now. He told me he is coming over to London in February to do some consultations so I'm going to catch up with them then.
  7. Day 5 Post Op Not much to comment on. Still struggling to sleep well because of tenderness and the position. Pain is more like sharp electric stings (technical term) every now and then. All in the donor area though, had no pain or even sensation in the recipient areas yet. Few scabs washed off this morning but think they were from the donor area. Still feel itchy but is definitely improving. Think this is the longest I haven't left the house for.
  8. Yeah I am keen to get the scabs off as well but also feeling a little worried as I think the scabs make it look denser! I knew that I wouldn't suffer with redness before I went. I never bruise and if I ever get a mark it clears really quickly. I am still getting some sharp pains every now and then but none whatsoever in the recipient. Those areas still feel numb so perhaps that's why.
  9. Wow! That is a truly amazing transformation. You first post was a big reason in deciding to go with Dr Koray in the first place. I'm currently a week post op and can only wish that in 12 months time I have a result somewhere like this. I can only imagine what it feels like to wake up in the morning and just have hair that you always wished off. Enjoy it!
  10. Day 4 Post Op I think the pain in my donor area is starting to subside. It is is still very delicate if touched but definitely not as sore this morning. Could just be a lucky few hours though. In terms of the recipient areas the vertex is definitely more sensitive than the frontal region as it still very sore when washing. I don't want to tempt fate but I think my redness is fading really quickly. I'm hoping I'm one of the lucky ones and don't suffer with this too long. Other than that not much to report. Swelling continues to improve and I'm looking more like myself now. Some new pics from today just after washing.
  11. Growth at 9 weeks! Wow that's so good. They say early growers often have the best results.
  12. Thank you mate. Was starting to worry a little bit, I'm not going to lie. Would make sense as my head feels very tight. Not seeing all my family until Christmas Day so yeah very much hoping that I'm looking my best then.
  13. Getting a little worried. Can anyone tell me if these cracks / lines that are appearing are a normal part of the healing process? Excuse the tinsel
  14. I've just completed the second wash Jax and I think I'm doing okay. No hairs have come away yet although I have what looks like puss on each new hair which I can only presume is the blisters starting to form. Thanks Richie. Love a bit of Quantum Leap. Takes me back a few decades. Day 3 Post Op A slightly better night sleep although the itching has really kicked in now and it is taking all my strength not to rub all over my head. The swelling has dropped some more and I now have two partially black eyes. Looks like it is sort of improving so hopefully by tomorrow it will be all but gone. A few new photos taken in my bathroom today which I think offers much better lighting.
  15. I have a super big forehead so I think he had to lower it in the centre and then he left it a little receeded towards the temples which I'm happy with as hopefully it will suit me as I get older. I think everyone's gets jealous looking at others photos as I did when looking at yours. We are own worst critics so we probably don't see what everyone else does when we look at our own. I'm confident looking at your photos that you will get a stellar result. My recipient hasn't stared itching yet so guess I have that to look forward too! Joy!
  16. Did the same with me but I had to stump up the full amount! Cheek of it!! Lol You had 2000 in the vertex which is quite a bit but doesn't look like it was thinning there although there are no pre op photos from behind. I've 3 days out from having 5000 so I'm two weeks behind you. I've got the worst itching feelings at the moment in the donor area. Your work looks really neat and dense.
  17. Thank you guys for the advice. It's not until you read responses like this that you actually stop and think about the bigger picture. I must admit that I am often so focused on my hair loss that I don't even consider other health implications when it comes to medication. I have had no adverse reactions to Fin for 12 years and am still only 35 so one would hope my prostate is in good shape. I am London based, could anyone recommend a derm or specialist that I could speak to about this? It seems that many people self prescribe Dutasteride online.
  18. It would seem that quite a few people are doing this already though. You are correct though in that I should have a conversation with my GP before moving forward with any of this.
  19. Interested in hearing from anyone who is taking 1mg of Finasteride daily but has 0.5mg of Dutasteride weekly or twice weekly. I've been taking 1mg of Fin for 12 years and thinking that it's losing some of its effect on me. I know there are people following above regime as I searched but many of those conversations are years old. Are people experiencing success with the above regime? Thinking I may follow suit if this is the case.
  20. Next time you post photos Ritchie do you mind putting one up of your hair line. We had a similar number put there so just keen to see what I can expect. Cheers mate
  21. Managed to get my laptop so here are some of the photos taken by ASMED and the stats. First 4 photos = Wet Hair Second 4 = Dry Hair Third 4 = Shaved hair The rest are some pics of me during surgery that they took and two which show their analysis of my hair. Total Grafts - 5008 (Was actually 5085) Ratio - 2.25 Total Hairs - 11,268 Single - 979 Double - 2680 Triple - 1173 Quadruple - 169 Quintuple - 7 Total Donor Capacity = 9160 Hair Thickness - 60 Microns Hairs per cm2 - 90 Follicles Hope that helps everyone. 22. Why would travelling home without one be a nightmare? I felt just like this before my procedure but after going through it I couldn't care less. People on the plane actually asked me about my experience, one man even took my clinics details as he had been thinking about one. I enjoyed sharing my experience with everyone. It actually made me realise how not a big deal it is to everyone else. People are much more compassionate than we give them credit for.
  23. Day 2 Post Op I had an awful night sleep last night. It was my first night without any dressing on and the donor area was very sensitive on the pillow so I couldn't relax properly. The swelling has also got much worse but this was to be expected. The good news is that I feel fine in myself and the redness doesn't seem quite as intense. I've uploaded some pictures. I would appreciate any feedback and opinions from people on the work and density? I have high hopes but I am ever the optimist. Left my laptop at the office so my wife is collecting it for me and then will upload surgery photos and stats.
