The only part I am actually worried about is the first 3 months and my appearance. I guess it is just something that everyone has to go through to get where they ultimately want to be. The difference in your photos over the past 4 weeks is very encouraging though and cosmetically you should see the biggest change from 3 - 8 months. So hopefully each day / week things will get better for you. I'd really appreciate the four weekly update. I'm worried about 'shock loss' and my current hair not returning as I have been on finasteride for quite a few years now.

I think it still looks very clean and I'm certain you will get the result you were after. It's only the lingering redness that would cause anyone to suspect anything. I would be happy to return to work like that. You'll have to let me know how you get on today. Fingers crossed that you can keep a large percentage of the transplanted hairs and they don't all shed. Do you know if you are able to buzz the donor areas so that they stay tidy or do you have to just allow it all to grow? Good idea with the dongle. I will look in to that today.

Any chance of that update? Sorry to be a pain but I'm really keen to see how recent procedures unfold seeing as I am only just over a month away from going myself.

I imagine some hairs would just fall out during the day when you aren't washing as well so you may just not be noticing them all. I booked my procedure for just before the Christmas break as my office closes down for a week and I've booked a week off before this. So I have 13 days before I have to return to work. I have seen other pictures where all the scabs are off by Day 10 so perhaps you have been overly gentle but I don't think it makes a difference other than aesthetically. Yeah I am UK based. Just west of London, near Heathrow. What about yourself?

Thanks for the update. Still quite a few scabs there. I may need to try and book a little extra time off work in that case. In terms of losing grafts, I think you are fine. I've done quite a lot of research on this and unless you can actually see the bulb (which would have blood on it) the hairs coming out are normal shedding. The bulb is what actually matters. They say by day 10 you can actually start to wash your hair more firmly but I completely understand the feeling that you need to be tentative and I'm certain I will be the same. Also don't stress about the density. Not all of the hairs will be visible now as many will have shed already. You won't be able to gauge the density for a good few months yet. I'm certain you will be fine. The immediate post op photos looked very densely packed.

I think it looks like it is healing really well. Can hardly see any difference in the donor area and you are only a week out. Looks like really neat work. Fills me with confidence as well. You definitely have no worries in the crown area. I have some slight thinning in that area and am having it addressed. I see no difference in density in your crown than the rest of you hair. Keen to see what the recipient area looks like at day 10 as this is when I will also need to return to work.

Hey KingD2, good to hear from someone else who will be out there at the same time. My procedure is over two days as having a little mid scalp work done on the 14th as well. Where you coming from? I'm from the UK.

I am slightly concerned that I will have a break down when they actually shave my hair off! Ha ha! Short term pain, long term gain!

Fair play to you for going out like that. I have actually told a few of my work colleagues about my upcoming procedure and it was quite refreshing to see how little they actually cared about it. I think it's often our own minds that make it worse than it is. How did you find the shaving the hair off part? Was it quite liberating? I've still got a pretty good head of hair and can just hide where I have receded by pushing my fringe forward so am a bit worried about how I will look once all shaved off.

You'll have to let me know how you found the journey with the procedure in full view for everyone to see. I imagine the swelling must be in full effect now. Wondering if you bothered with the hat at the airport and on the plane?

It's refreshing to hear of someone else who suffers with anxiety having a hair transplant as I do myself and I'm concerned about how I am going to handle the ugly duckling phase. I'm booked in with Erdogan on the 13th December so only two months today. Starting to feel nervous now but I keep reading so many amazing reviews on Asmed and Erdogan that I'm certain I am still making the right choice. A few questions if you don't mind: 1) Did you carry the cash to settle with you or withdraw it when in Istanbul? 2) Are you intending to travel home on the plane without hat? Did they mention anything about this? 3) Did you feel safe within the proximity of the hotel? I work in an office so have no chance of being able to hide it from everyone so may have to bite the bullet and tell some people before I go. I think your new hair line will work brilliantly for you by the way.

Wow that has come in quickly! You are now at the best stage where you should see a real improvement over the next 3 months. You must be so pleased!! Looking forward to the 5 month photos. Also gives me confidence for my procedure with Erdogan in December.

How you getting along Echoes? Must be just over 2 months now, half way through the worst of it.

The transplanted hair will go through various phases as it grows out. Some may shed and regrow thicker. Looking forward to seeing your 4 months pics. I have my FUE booked with Erdogan for December this year.

Would be great to see some pictures if you have any. I'm have a double day FUE transplant completed in November with H&W and have been advised that I will need around 3500 grafts. Glad it all went well!

I can put to bed the heading discussion for you as I played football at a semi professional level for a number of years and wore concealers during every game. Headers on the forehead didn't cause a change in appearance to the frontal area although I'm sure some fibres would have come off. A flicked header as you call it could cause a patch to appear on the crown if the ball skimmed of that area which if I'm honest used to put me off wanting to even head the ball in that manner. And don't even talk to me about playing in the rain. An odd injury would always present itself on such days.

How many grafts are you looking at Harlot? I've recently booked in for FUE with H&W but am wondering if FUT would actually return a better yield. As Rashid has said the reason I originally chose FUE was because of my concern over future loss and not being able to cut my hair short without a scar being visible. Although many posts on here seem to point towards always opting for FUT first and then FUE in the future. It's confusing to know what is the best course of action and seems a pretty common concern for us newbies. I'm going to discuss it further with Dr Wong during my pre-op as want to make sure I choose correctly. From what he has told me so far he expects the yield from FUE to be very similar as if we opted for FUT. I'm looking at about 3000 grafts.
