  1. I discovered three bright red spots in my vertex area this morning. At first I thought it was blood and was worried I had lost grafts but upon closer inspection could see they were definitely spots. I sent the first attached photo to ASMED and they said all is normal but to let them know if anymore pop up over the next few days. Anyone else experience these and can advise the best way to handle them? Still shedding but clinging on to the new hair line thank goodness, which I absolutely love by the way. Attached another picture so you can see how it shapes my face now. Such an improvement from where it was, can't wait for it to grow out.
  2. You are in good hands there don't worry. Say hello to everyone from Danny when you get out there. I look forward to reading your thread when you start one.
  3. Cheers pal, appreciate that. I know it is going to get worse though! Good luck hkuser, are you at Asmed? Thank you! Likewise I will keep an eye on your updates as well.
  4. I was taking 1mg branded Propecia before and have been back on this since day 1 of my transplant. I was switched to Aindeem by the Belgravia Centre. I now buy Propecia online myself.
  5. He wouldn't say definitively and I doubt any doctors would. From doing my own research though I have seen people experience similar accelerated loss when switching to a generic fin so just keep an eye on it. If you see any further loss then switch back. Agreed though that the laser comb worked for me. Kick myself now for stopping. Hopefully I can regain some ground now that I'm back on it all.
  6. Where's the 7 month update? Too busy enjoying your new mane of hair!!
  7. Hey HLS2015 thanks for commenting. I always had some minor crown thinning from the age of 25 but it really wasn't that bad until only two years ago (I'm 35 now). Then a few things happened. I stopped using my laser comb, I was switched to a generic finasteride instead of propecia and I started using fibres daily and a lot of them. One of these things I believe has really accelerated my hair loss the past two years (especially the crown) as prior to that I was in a much better position. So for that reason I have started with the laser again and switched back to propecia. I've attached two pictures below which were from summer 2014 which show how much thicker my hair was. Excuse the photos as they were all I could find but that's without any concealer. So I have lost a fair bit of ground the past two years. It could well be that the drugs are losing their effect on me in which case I would potentially consider switching to Dut seeing as I've had no sides whatsoever on Fin. I stopped using Minoxidil about 8 years ago as it didn't seem to be doing anything for me and I didn't lose any ground from stopping either which only confirmed it. As for it being a 5000 case, Dr Erdogan was confident that given my background and time spent on Procpecia that this would provide me with a cosmetic appearance that I would be more than happy with, need no use of concealer and last me for the next 10 years. I've still got another 4250 grafts in the bank should I need them so I'm hopeful that I'll be in a good position now. My advice with the laser comb was that it made my hair really thick and healthy which only enhanced the appearance of fullness. Whether it actually regrew any hairs I'm not sure but I am personally confident that it allowed me to maintain what I had and perhaps bought hairs back from the miniaturisation stage. Each to their own though. I stopped using the laser after reading reviews on this forum, in hindsight I should have simply continued to stick to what was working for me. What works for one may not work for another. Cheers pal, I was pleasantly surprised how I looked with a shaved head so at least I have that option now as I age as I have a decent hair line finally.
  8. 3 weeks Post Op So I have hit 3 weeks and my shedding (which started a few days ago) has been fairly consistent. When showering in the morning I am seeing fifty hairs or so in my hands after shampooing. I have started to see a few gaps where the transplanted hair was implanted. I think I am slowly starting to accept what is happening though. The vertex area doesn't seem to be growing much at all compared to the frontal and mid scalp areas which are growing at the same rate as my normal hair. Not sure if this is normal but have read posts that state that the vertex grows slower so am hoping this is the case. Have had a few spots on my head but all have disappeared. My donor area is still at random times a little itchy and I can feel a few spot like lumps. Most people seem to shed a lot from this week onward so lets see how I fare this week. Have kinda forgotten what my old hairline looked like. Seems we are about to be reacquainted.
  9. Yeah the crown doesn't seem to be growing like the rest of the transplanted hair. As far as I'm aware this is fairly normal though and it takes longer for the crown to grow out. As you said all comments at work were positive. I took a hat with me just in case but didn't bother with it and even went out for a walk around town at lunch. On the negative side I still have a lot more hair to shed so it still has to get worse yet.
  10. WOW!!!! You must be so happy! I'm not going to lie, I am completely jealous. Can't believe how quickly it is changing now. Enjoy it and keep posting so we can with you!
  11. Hey Hamburger, I'm 5 weeks behind you. I think you look like you are on track. 2 months in my opinion is when people look their worst and you don't look bad at all. Another month to get through and then you should start to see some growth.
  12. Cheers pal. I had a quick look at your thread and do agree that your ASMED quote seemed high given your amount of loss. The work you had done by Dr Saifi looks very neat and compact. You'll have to let us know when the growth kicks in.
  13. Cheers DaveyB, will update as and when things change. Agree that his graft quotes are higher than others but as you say it was the continuous standard of his results that was the deciding factor for me. Just posted a pic of the donor area for you. My wife tells me it's back to normal now and you couldn't tell anything had been done there.
  14. 19 Days Post Op It looks like the first few months of 2017 are going to be hard ones for me. The shed has really kicked off this morning. I could see no less than a hundred hairs in my hands this morning when showering. As much as I have mentally prepared myself for it, there's no denying it's a pretty crappy feeling. The past 3 weeks have been brilliant with my new hair all in place and I even found myself wondering if I would be the lucky one who didn't shed. Clearly not! No pain to speak off at all. I still have itchiness but only in the donor area. Recipient area is still numb but it does feel like it's improving. I can't see any redness at all but will be clearer when more of the hair sheds. I have been in constant dialogue with Asmed about any concerns I have had and they have always got back to me immediately. I have been advised not to wear any concealer for the first 3 months or use any other cosmetic products. Will be nice next week when I can trim the donor area though. My original and transplanted hair seems to be growing really quickly. Not sure if this is a good sign or not. Back in to the office tomorrow and I have no option of a hat so just going to have to deal with it. 3 weeks down, hopefully only another 9 until I am back to my old self! Have attached a picture of the donor area as well this time.
  15. Was only messing with the pony tail. Would be nice to grow it a bit though. I have seen some others shave their hair down around the 3/4 month mark so it grows out even. I may do the same myself to keep it tidy. Cheers, I think. Out with wife this evening for her birthday, trying to be out as much as I can before my hibernation period starts.
  16. Cheers Jax. Everybody really likes it and have had lots of compliments and remarks that I should keep my hair short now. Obviously I won't be doing that. I told them to expect a pony tail next Christmas! I can't believe you have early growth. Must be so nice seeing it come back. I'm just about to enter the ugly duckling stage and you are coming out of it!
  17. 2 weeks Post Op I hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas break. It has been 2 weeks now since my procedure at Asmed. The confidence I have felt in the past 2 weeks with my new hair line has only reinforced the decision I made to have this done. It does look like it is starting to thin out a little bit now and I did notice a few hairs in the shower this morning. The next 10 weeks are going to be a struggle. The redness has all but gone now and I have no pain at all. I have noticed a few pimples and I still feel itchy in different areas at times. The aloe vera gel is a god send and you can also use it as a styling product. Will update in a few more days when more hair will have shed no doubt
  18. Hey, thanks for posting on my thread. It does look like 2000 grafts but your pictures show that they have been placed in the mid scalp as well as the frontal region. I always think it's harder to gauge density when some of the hair is left long but looking a your pre op photos I think that 2000 grafts will give you the added density that you require.
  19. Day 10 Post Op I made it and am pleased to report that all the scabs have gone as well. The hair does look a little bit thinner now but I'm hoping that is because I've lost some hairs with the scabs. Vertex area is definitely showing more redness than the frontal area but I have zero pain now. Even the donor area doesn't feel sensitive now. Now that the scabs are gone I'll post in a few days as doubt much will change until the big shed happens and I think it only fair to spend more time with the family and not this forum seeing as it's christmas. So on that note I will wish you all a merry Christmas and update in a few days.
  20. I've seen lots of other reviews where this happened and they went on to have great results. It looks like you are just shedding hairs with your scabs. If there is no bulb attached to the hair or no blood where the hairs comes out then you are generally safe. Some people shed early, some later. Some shed all transplanted hairs, some shed only half of them. Each person is different. I have plans for the next 10 days so am hoping to cling on to mine for a little longer yet.
  21. Are you saying you think mine looks less dense now than it did before? I don't think there is a huge difference. I think that when the hair starts to grow a little it will also look less dense until it reaches a better length. As you say though you will also shed some hairs as the scabs come away. I still feel like I have kept most hairs at this stage. I'm new to this as well but from reading lots of reviews over the past few years I think the best advice is to try not to worry now about density as we will only be able to tell after a good few months yet. In the hope of easing any concerns I think mine looks slightly less dense than it did a few days ago as well but I think as I said that's just the length and perhaps a slight shed. Try not to worry!
  22. Cheers mate! Yeah I am happy with how it looks now. Had quite a few compliments from the neighbours and local shop owners. Just going to enjoy the next two weeks before it all disappears again. Although one person said I looked like a gangster which isn't the look I was trying to achieve. No real redness at all. I know people disagree but I think having a darker skin tone definitely helps. The vertex is a little red still and that is where I have had most discomfort so perhaps that area is a little more delicate. Dr Umut said i can drink again at Day 10 so looking forward to a well deserved glass of red wine tomorrow evening.
  23. Day 9 Post Op I would say 90% of my scabs have now washed away. Just a few stubborn ones remain and they mainly seem to be in the vertex area. Good news it looks like I will be scab free for Christmas which was my aim. Nothing else new to add apart from the occasional itching / tingling sensations over my head that come and go. Roll on tomorrow when I can sleep normally again with a nice soft pillow! I tried to do a close up of the frontal area but my iPhone wouldn't focus properly. I think density wise it looks good.
  24. Day 8 Post Op Many of my scabs are coming off now and I'm hopeful that they will all be gone by Day 10. The reason that I've managed to get most of them off already is that I have washed fairly firmly immediately following the procedure. I've been really careful so far not to bump my head or let my children whack me as they often do and I feel like the hairs are really secure now in my head. I really like my new hairline and it's such a shame that all these new hairs need to shed soon! As far as pain goes there isn't really any now. The odd sharp pain now and then in different areas. Still numb in the recipients area but definitely improving. It kind of feels like you are wearing a hat but you aren't. Donor area is perfect now and undetectable.
  25. Cheers mate. Were you at ASMED as well or somewhere else? How many grafts did you have?
