  1. I think what you are feeling is new hairs coming through. I still have this feeling occasionally but much less than I did at around the 6 month mark. The feeling I get is more like a desire to itch, feels a bit tingly close to what you experience after pins and needles has struck. I think it just means that things are still happening for you and so they should be at your stage. I'm at month 9 and am still seeing continuous improvement. Remember it's not a one model fits all process and growth will happen at different times for everyone and may not be completed up until 12 months potentially 18 in the crown.
  2. Just so you can realise how far I've actually come in 9 months. This is my pre-op against last nights photo. I've put the brightness up all the way on my 9 month pic to see if I could see any scalp and I can't apart from the crown area. Actually unreal how much more hair I have!
  3. 9 Month Post Op 9 months yesterday. Where has that time gone. It really does all go by so quickly. I've had some more maturation over the past month and I'm now starting to let my hair grow a little longer. I still have some new hairs that have appeared as I can see them in the hair line so don't let anybody tell you that there is no further growth after 6 months. I'm expecting maybe another 15% in density over the next 3 to 9 months as my hair has been both slower to grow and mature than others. I know I am going to need another small procedure for my desired density in the front and crown, I'm thinking no more than 1500 grafts hopefully but let's see what the next 9 months brings first. I've just booked to go back to Asmed in December for a 12 month check up and consultation. So very excited about that! Pics of wet, damp and dry hair with a fringe pushed back one. Update next month!
  4. For everyone out there at 6 months and worrying about further improvements in density please take a look at this photo which shows my transplanted hair line at month 6 and then at month 8. A considerable improvement. I agree with others that you shouldn't form an opinion on the success of the procedure until at least 12 months maybe even 18. My crown is taking a longer time to fill in completely but it is still improving which shows this area does take more time. I still have many see through hairs which shows that each individual follicle has it's own timeline to follow as well. They don't all pop and mature together. I've also been told by Asmed that the multiple hair follicles come through initially as one hair and then regrow in their multiples thereafter. I'm expecting further improvements over the next few months hopefully.
  5. Cheers, appreciate it. I think I've still got a fair bit to come as well. Can still see lots of very thin hairs. I think the truth is that it is our expectations that need to be managed as everyone grows at different rates. I've been a much more gradual grower than others. I think I still have some more to come as well.
  6. 8 Months Post Op Sorry for the delay in putting these up. I've been on holiday for the past couple of weeks. I have experienced more thickening the past month and finally starting to feel much more confident about my hair. Everyone is giving me compliments on it and it was the first time I've been able to get my hair wet in a pool and just let it dry and not feel really aware of myself. One of the nicest feelings. Something so many people just take for granted. With the fringe pushed to the side it looks really strong but pushed up it still needed a bit more density. I can still see some stubble and thin hairs so I am hopeful there is still more to come. My growth has been slow and steady so I'm thinking it will take me the full 12 or even 16 months to see the full effect of the precodure. I would say that up to 6 months I wasn't overly happy but the past two months things have really progressed and I think I have another good few months ahead! Will update in a month!
  7. 8 months update coming tomorrow Been away on holiday for the past 10 days. But took these two pictures. Density is still improving! Think my coarse hair is helping as well. These pictures show what an important role light plays. The first one has the flash on and makes my hairline look perfect, the second in natural daylight shows that it still has some thickening to do. I still think it will improve!
  8. Look at where you've come from to where you are now though. I agree the hair line needs to be stronger as does my own but I would give it a few more months before passing judgement. I've read a lot of reviews where they have been in similar situations and it improves up to and beyond 18 months. I think a lot of people need a small second pass to refine and achieve the perfect hair line but you'd only be looking at 1000 grafts if that's the case. I'm still seeing small improvements and am going to see where I stand this time next year. Give it some more time I'm certain you will continue to see density improvements as the hair matures.
  9. Hey. Mine is improving but it's very slowly. If it's brushed forward or to the side then it looks fine in my opinion. Pushed back and it still looks see through at this stage. I'm hoping for more improvements over the next year though! If not then I'll just have to have a small touch up! I've come along way from where I was though! I can still see a load of very thin hairs so hopefully will keep getting better!
  10. I started getting the back and sides clipped at the end of the first month and then had normal hair cuts after 3 months. This was as instructed by Asmed. Thank you and glad I could be of some assistance to you in getting booked up. It is a really hard first 6 months and even now I still have days where I think it's getting worse. Prepare yourself now that it's going to take 12 months post op to see the full results. Best way to be. Cheers Jax. I just want a bit more density now and then I'll be there. Looking forward to your next update. Cheers, appreciate it.
  11. Had some time on my hands today so put this together as really made me realise how far I have come and this should be useful for others who don't explode with growth all at once like I didn't. Can only imagine how good it will look in another 5 months if it looks like this now!
  12. 7 Months Post Op So the past month I have definitely seen some added density and I believe many of the hairs have started to mature. If my hair is pushed forward then I am happy with it but it is still not dense enough in the front to push the hair backwards which is what I would like to do one day. I can still see some new hairs sprouting and a lot of thin hairs that will mature and add to the illusion so not giving up hope of an improvement just yet. I have come a long way from where I started but I'm not happy just yet. Maybe hair greed but I want to be able to push my fringe backwards without it being see through. The crown is continuing to fill in but the left side is still see through as you can see. With fibres it looks perfect but my aim was to be able to stop using them. Asmed have told me to wait for the full 12 months before I draw any conclusions and that I will experience more density and growth over the next few months. I do seem to be a gradual grower so this may be the case. The positives are that it frames my face brilliantly and I am using much less fibres than I did previously. If it wasn't to improve from here though I would want a second pass to add density in the front and a little in the crown. The fact I am still seeing new hairs, thin hairs and even some black dots in places should hopefully mean that I still have more to come though. Will update at 8 months.
  13. Not going to update with any pictures as I said until Month 7 now but for anyone who has concerns about density or growth at around 5 - 6 months as I did, I just wanted to let you guys know that the density has really started to improve the past two weeks and I can still see lots of young immature hairs so I can only imagine it's going to get better. Month 6 - 9, I'm hoping is going to be my game changer! Slow growers, worry not!
  14. So I have reached the 6 month mark and I think it's fair to say that I'm a gradual grower. I'm really happy with the difference from where I was when I started out but I am lacking in density considering I had 5000 grafts. I'm not concerned though and I truly believe that over the next 6 months it will go from strength to strength. I can still see new hairs appearing and lots of very thin almost see through hairs which once thickened will have a huge cosmetic difference. The big plus is that during my every day life I am just wearing my hair as it dries after the shower and am not conscious of it. For nights out I have added a little fibre and it looks amazing and I've received many compliments. The way it has framed my face has been the biggest difference. At the half way mark I am very happy and although I have days where I am a little impatient, I am optimistic to see what the next 6 months bring. If I did need a second touch up session it would be minimal and only to add some density to the hairline. Let's hope I don't need to do that! Switching to monthly updates from here on as well as I want to try and stop analysing it so much as think that stops me appreciating how far I've come. I've added lots of photos. The last two are of it blow dried back as someone asked for one of those and the last is how I style it with a little bit of fibre in it. I'm hoping my final result looks something like that! It now takes me 5 minutes to do my hair, not 45 minutes!!
  15. Everyone is different. I'm at month 6 in a few days and I'm still experiencing growth. My growth has been much more gradual than Jax's. I can still see new hairs breaking through the skin now (thank goodness.) It's hard not to compare against others on here but I think we all have to wait the full 12 months before evaluating where we are.
  16. It's hard to spike up as it's so short at the moment but I will blow dry it back next week so you can get a better idea. Thank you. It's getting there. Let's hope so! Cheers Jax. Looking forward to seeing your next update!
  17. 25 Weeks Post Op Strangely enough, I seem to have seen some more density in the past week. This could be because I had a much shorter hair cut at the weekend but it has lifted my spirits regardless. I can still see lots of new hairs and some really fine ones so I am feeling very hopeful for the next few months. I've got to the point where I am not styling my hair and leaving it as it is after washing and colleagues are telling me how thick it is looking. I know I have more density to come but even at this point, it's framed my face so nicely and I look younger and better than I have over the past 10 years. I should add lots of the new hairs are quite frizzy but have been told they will settle down as they mature. 6 months next week! I've put a few different photos at the end so you can see how it looks naturally in different lighting. First two wet, second two damp, third two dry. As you may tell I'm feeling really positive at the minute.
  18. I think it's looking good mate. You just need a bit more density in the front as you say. I'm in a similar boat and I've reached out to quite a few people who saw density increases all the way through to 18 months.
  19. Here's a photo of my donor area. I have just had my hair cut and this is at a grade 1 and there is no visible scarring!! Happy about that!
  20. That is music to my ears! Good to hear from others who were worried at the 6 month stage. I guess we just all grow at different times / speeds.
  21. Thank you! Let's hope so! Bring on the day I wake up and it doesn't bother me! No fibres in it for the photos. You had much more growth than me early on, mine seems to be slow and steady. I can still see hairs coming through now though. Yes hopefully by the end of this year we'll be there. Will post a picture of my donor next week. It looks fine and I am having it cut to grade 1 and there is no visible scarring. Still a bit conscious but getting better all the time!
  22. Jdog did you see much movement from month 6 to 9? I'm approaching month 6 and hoping for much more density!!
  23. 24 Weeks Post Op Still improving and can still see some new hairs coming through! Just waiting for the density to come through! Asmed said not to worry about density until 12 months and even 18 months in some cases. I'm almost getting to the point where I'm not conscious going out, with a little hair fibres applied it looks perfect but am using it sparingly! Any feedback appreciated!
  24. 23 Weeks Post Op Still improving slowly and can see new hairs coming through still. Feeling more optimistic now but still a long way to go.
