  1. You look great man. Super jealous. Hope I look the same at month 11 lol. Thanks for sharing the journey!
  2. Really wish more doctors were doing this. Not only does it allow for patients to connect with doctors seamlessly, but helps to extinguish social stigmas around hair transplants by making the conversation more mainstream and open. BTW doc you're not too far from Snapchat headquarters. Sure there's some candidates lurking
  3. Worrywort really living up to the name. Nicely done You're good man no worries. Kick back and relax.
  4. agree completely. powerful stuff that is often taken too lightly imo.
  5. Local news outlets would eat this up. They live for negativity and this is as negative (and legitimate) a story as it gets. I would contact a few with your story in a well thought out email. BBB is a joke.
  6. Correct. Jury is still out on whether topical fin can be the best of both worlds scenario everyone has hoped for--equal effectiveness, without the libido sides.
  7. Anticipation always worse than reality. You're good man.
  8. Jury is still out on effectiveness. The premise, at least in theory, is that topical fin can be localized to the scalp, differing from oral fin in pill form which effects DHT levels throughout the entire body. Again, this is the theory. Another key variable is absorption rate and carrier method. Do a quick search on topical fin and you'll see another member or two are tracking results. In addition to Dr. Wesley, I would contact SMG and Dr. Ron Shapiro and Dr. Hasson at H+W as they are both top doctors who are now offering topical fin. Would be interesting to hear what their feedback is so far as well. Hot topic for sure. Keep us posted.
  9. The good news is that most of the greatest discoveries in history have been stumbled on. Humans aren't very good at making predictions.
  10. If I personally found the cure or if a cure was found? Hmm lets suppose I was fumbling around in the kitchen one day and realized that cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar was in fact the cure for hair loss. Awesome. I'd probably come on here and tell you guys first-after all, you're my brothers. Then I'd tell a few close hair loss suffering friends. Then I would patent and brand the shit out of it and throw it in a bottle and cash out and spend the rest of my life on a yacht with hot chicks. Maybe one day I'd write a book on how hair loss used to be a thing but not anymore. If someone else found a cure. I'd be really really really happy and would probably be a little pissed I just got an HT but would get over it pretty quickly. Either way, Happy.
  11. I agree it looks ridiculous (shaving only required recipient area) but alot of guys do it if they can wear hats and/or work remotely for a while. Agree with your reasoning given circumstances. Who are you consulting with?
  12. Putting the FUT vs FUE debate aside for a second, FUE will obviously produce a cleaner look 3 weeks after as you'll have no scar to cover up and your hair will all be the same length. At this stage people will just assume you shaved your head. Redness will be your only consideration at 3 week, and recipient hair will begin to shed, so disparity will creep up on you. If you intend to shave your entire head and go FUT, the linear scar will be visible, but most of the scabbing will be gone by week 3. This is important if you want to apply a cover-up or masking agent like dermmatch or couvre on the scar, but your hair will not cover the scar until it grows an inch or two. Check out Mav23100Gunther's pics--he went FUT with Rahal and did this. Personally, I looked terrible at 3 week FUT bc I only shaved the recipient zone. I've yet to see someone NOT shave their entire head and look decent post-surgery. If you're cool with that, its really a matter of opting for the procedure best for you. Or what Dutchie said
  13. Makes sense. I get it. I used the time off to travel-something I'd planned for awhile otherwise might have opted for similar. Did Konior explain the 2500 # limit?
  14. I think your hair looks so good you've afforded yourself the time to scrutinize the inconsequential Is it haircut related by chance? My barber always f's up that area and goes too short right around the ears--it feels forever imbalanced.
  15. We're def in agreement. $250 is a stretch. Bernstein charged me $195, and made it clear with body language that time was basically up after 15 minutes. I had no context at the time, but it was rough. Genius of a guy, but bedside manner not the best. SMG and Konior and H+W were also free. Ron sat on the phone with me for an hour on a Friday night at 7pm. Konior similar amount of time spent and many more emails. Only spoke with Wong but he called me on his last day in the office before a conference. Point being OP, the top guys like Gabel and others mentioned are very generous with their time. Set up some phone /skype calls and pick a few to visit.
  16. Can I ask the reason behind your decision to opt only for no-shave? Just curious.
  17. Beautiful stuff guys. It's great to have hair, but even better to help people have great hair
  18. Oh not doubting he said it, just saying that's the longest timeline I've seen to abstain from concealers (either toppik or dermmatch/couvre). Some doctors are ok with application of toppik after 2 wks, others a month. Just what I've seen and read. Best to speak with him further.
  19. I was faced with a wknd of sun exposure at month 4 and was obviously nervous. If you have to be in the sun for an extended period, and you can wear a hat, I would wear one. If you are in a situation where you cannot, I would apply sunblock. Toppik can't hurt to mask the recipient obviously, but would not rely on it. Safer than sorry.
