  1. Underrated doc I think, at least on this forum. If he were US/Canada-based, he'd make a lot more short lists, imo.
  2. Matty, I'm pretty sure Dr. Feller has always been open about the fact that most, if not all, of his hair on top is transplanted. He'd likely be a total slaphead by now if not. Since this thread was bumped, just something I've thought about from time to time which likely has been brought up before... You don't see many (any?) reports of people who have gone to what are generally considered the top FUE clinics who seem to regret their decision in doing so. Dr. Lorenzo's reputation seems as solid as ever even though he might delegate more of the workload these days. Dr. Erdogan and staff still seem to be thriving while pumping out multiple procedures on a daily basis. By this time, surely the internet should be chock-full of their dissatisfied FUE patients if the results are really that much of a crap shoot. If the FUE procedure in general is really as unpredictable as you guys purport, even these top name FUE doctors should have plenty of negative press out there. Where are all these bad reviews?
  3. Bud, I'm certainly not the one to clarify those questions. I was just basing my assumption off various cases I've read about on here. Concurrent scalp/beard FUE transplants seem fairly commonplace, but I could probably count on Jason Pierre-Paul's right hand the # of strip/FUE one-session transplants I remember reading about. I'm sure Swooping will clear things up right away when he gets wind of your thread. Good luck.
  4. I would assume it means a combo of scalp and beard/body hair.
  5. I agreed with Dr. Feller in another thread on this point, and I'll do so again here. This is absolutely true for me, even if I sound like a tinkerbell for admitting it. Never having had any type of surgery at 40 years old now, strip just scares the hell out of me. Getting my head carved into seems pretty extreme for the sake of vanity. The procedure just appears so archaic, like how they would have performed a hair transplant on The Knick (excellent show that ran for a while set in 1900 NYC hospital). I'd club a baby seal to have Chris Cornell hair (RIP...wtf?), so even a bad scar would probably be a total non-issue for me... -HairLostFears
  6. I think I've seen more great results from ASMED than I have from any other clinic, however, I'm not quite sure what to make of this one. Almost half the available grafts for that frontal band area on a still young man who isn't on finasteride? Graft distribution just seems way off here. Y'all are the experts and I'm an anonymous nobody, so hopefully I'm not coming across as 'Are you guys sure you know what you're doing??'. I guess I'm basically just wondering how this approach could possibly stand the test of time.
  7. Impressive work, doctor. Fella might still look stoic in the afters, but he's surely beaming inside.
  8. Yea I like this result a lot. It's a good look on an older gent, imo. Something like Harvey Keitel..
  9. Now that just might be the time to go the system route.
  10. MrMatt, Benicio del Toro. Benicio del Toro, MrMatt. Always dug his look/style. Smoking might have aged his skin a bit, but that hair is impervious.
  11. Not quite one of those father-to-son appearance transformations because of the youthful face, but it's close. Nice job, H&W. My dippy first thought? Rivers Cuomo! If you want to destroy my sweater..
  12. Outside just now thinking of my previous post, my chosen avatar pic, and as I smoked probably my 10th of the day.. <sigh> I feel you, man. I walk these streets too.
  13. I took this thread to mean that rdg1982 generally smokes a bit more, but wondering if he slowed down to one or two a day leading up to surgery would it still have an impact on his results. I remember Dr. Vories musing in one thread his graft survival rate would likely be even higher than it is already if so many of the patients in his area weren't smokers. Yea tobacco needs to just go away, but $$$..
  14. Hey, just chiming in with some support. I don't comment on many threads from forum users who visit ASMED, but I certainly read them all. Especially interested in fellow Americans who take this plunge, as the journey to and from seems the most daunting aspect of it all to me. ASMED sure does check a lot of boxes for me though. Namely, an excellent track record at a price point I can stomach. You're doing it, man!! All the best.
  15. pic 1 - trying to look pleasant enough for the camera pic 7 - genuine elation How many grafts left for round 2?
  16. You guys should send an anonymous invite to get your own Chuck Schumer into the chair for a repair. That straight hairline that starts halfway to the back of his head is just begging for a touch-up from skilled hands. If, by slight chance, you ARE the ones that did his original work, well...
  17. Nice write-up, DrJosephitis. I've read at least a couple times before of non-scalp grafts eventually 'behaving' the same when implanted into the scalp; becoming more or less indistinguishable from scalp grafts over time. That's always been sort of fascinating to me, would be interested to hear your take on this.
  18. Yea the lid may look a little artificial, but these moves are genuine...
  19. Yea, definitely not the most convincing set of before & afters to ever grace the forum. Didn't see mention, but has patient had some work done prior?
  20. +1 on the name brand foam from eBay. Sometimes in a slightly damaged box, but always with a reasonable expiration date. Still have a bunch of bottles of Spectral UHP liquid I got dirt cheap on eBay, but the foam is my usual once daily go-to lately. The liquid does irritate me a little now when used on consecutive days, although it didn't used to (perhaps just that brand). The only sexual side effect for me would be from the liquid. It sort of acts as a birth control, as the ladies are repulsed by my greasy head!
  21. He's in Charlotte, I believe. I have no personal experience or affiliation with him, I just knew his clinic was reasonably close to you and the results I've seen from him on here look nice and natural.
  22. Haven't had any work done myself yet either, just a lot of perusing. Definitely give Dr. Jerry Cooley a look before committing to anything with Bosley, imo.
  23. Per usual, I have nothing really useful to add but just wanted to comment on the above quote. It sounds so cliche -and certainly 30k is a hefty chunk- but that feeling you expressed there is truly priceless. It's what I want, it's my endgame. For that grip to finally be released, for that albatross to be forever lifted. Thanks for the hope.
  24. Redemption if he can deliver me Chris Cornell hair to look forward to when I'm in my 50s...
