  1. Great question! I have often wondered this as well. I have no idea!
  2. I was underwhelmed with my FUE after 12 months and then very happy after 18. FUE takes more time, typically.
  3. The worst part is the month after when you have to hide out from all your friends and family!
  4. Welcome to the club (the club nobody wants to be in!). Yes, your hair looks to be diffuse thinning. It's genetic, just like you said in your post. I would look to get started on Rogaine and medication.
  5. What I don't understand is that he said that if he is elected president he would slick his hair back because "he wouldn't have time to do his hair." Why the hell doesn't he just slick it back now? It would look 1000% better!
  6. Imagine how nice this would be if it actually worked....if you were able to, say, use it in the crown area and then do real transplants for the hairline and mid-scalp. It would be a perfect way to compliment an HT.
  7. Honestly, I'm not really a fan of this. While the transplant obviously worked, I just don't really like the straight hairline. I actually think his native hairline looked more natural. He could end with a weird look if he continues to lose behind the hairline. Just my two cents!
  8. Honestly, there was nothing wrong with his hair that would warrant a hair transplant.
  9. The way I put it on if somebody rubbed their hands through my hair they would have a hard time seeing anything on their hands. Less is more, as another poster said. I am also married and my wife knows that I use it so I don't have to worry about telling a girl if I was in the dating world. That being said, I totally understand where you are coming from. There is an element of feeling "fake" but really how is it that much different than a woman putting on makeup? I've had 2 HT's and my hair is decent but I like to add some concealer to cover my crown thinning and to add a bit of density to the front.
  10. If you use concealers correctly, it should be virtually undetectable unless somebody really knew what they were looking for and they were looking up close. I have a lot of guy friends who would blow me up if they detected and never once have they ever said anything.
  11. I don't agree. Not sure about rain, but I run a lot with friends of mine and get extremely sweaty. Not once has anybody said anything about concealer and, believe me, they would be the first to say it if they noticed it.
  12. Thanks. So adding testosterone doesn't increase DHT though, does it?
  13. Can some of these testosterone supplements cause hair loss? There are lots of products out there that claim to help with libido, energy, fat loss, etc. and many of them have phenomenal reviews on Amazon. I was thinking about trying some of them out but not at the expense of my hair!
  14. IMO, you'd be making a HUGE mistake if you did an HT following that proposal. There is nothing wrong with your hair now.
  15. He's a doctor...what is the issue with sharing that information with him? Doctors are trained to deal with this sort of stuff. I really doubt he's going to go tell all his friends that a patient of his was being treated for an STD. It's really not that big of a deal.
  16. You are nuts if you get a transplant IMO. Your hair looks great. 99% of guys in here would kill for that hair. You need to deal with your confidence and perception before you get a transplant because you'll likely never be happy. And I agree with Spanker above who said you might end up doing more damage with a transplant than good.
  17. Wow! Amazing transformation! He went from practically a NW6 to a NW 2.5!!
  18. The general consensus will be no, you can't. Because SMP is 2D and real hair is 3D, it could look weird with the 1.5 on top. The exception being if you still have a lot of hair and not any major bald spots then you might be able to pull it off. It sounds like that may be your case with the diffused thinning. I'd take some photos and send them in to a few practitioners.
  19. I'm also curious as to how the grafts were distributed. If it was half on one side and half on the other I would think it could look odd if the density/growth was different between FUT/FUE?
  20. I think it looks perfectly normal for being just a couple of weeks out. I bet you're going to get a great result as your hair wasn't really that bad to begin with.
