  1. Is it just me, or does 2500 seem like a lot for your level of hair loss?
  2. I agree that you should start the meds now and give it at least a year before making any decisions about HT's. If you did an HT now, you might really regret it a few years down the road if your hair loss gets worse. Also, that's a very long pinky nail!
  3. Do doctors allow concealers to be used in the "after" pics? It looks to me like he has a lot of concealer in the crown shot.
  4. Probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 3500-4000 would give you decent coverage.
  5. Wow! Love seeing stories like this. You were pretty much totally bald before and now you've got a good amount of hair and a strong hairline. Congrats! I'm thinking that you should stay with strip for your 2nd HT since you tend to wear your hair a little longer in the back anyway. Also, you'll probably never need to really cut your hair super short the rest of your life. You had such amazing results with strip on the 1st HT, I'd just keep it consistent if I were you.
  6. Congrats to you! You look fantastic. I love seeing success stories like this.
  7. Hopefully, they're too busy enjoying life with a good head of hair and have no need to come to this forum!
  8. You need to provide some better pictures. It's impossible to tell from that one.
  9. Looks fantastic and already A LOT better than your pre-op photos! Plus, you have TONS more growth yet. You must be very excited! Congrats.
  10. I've been on Finasteride for 6 months and have not experienced any side effects. In fact, I think my sex drive as actually increased. I've also been on Rogaine Foam for about 14 months. I've regrown some hair in my hairline and added some density all over. I've been happy with the results. My crown has gotten a little bit thinner but I believe would be a lot worse if it weren't for the meds.
  11. Your hairline is going to look great! Congrats on the early growth!
  12. Does his hair loss bother you more than it bothers him? I think hair loss is a personal issue. I've known some guys who lose their hair and do it gracefully and confidently. It doesn't bother them much. I've also known guys who have lost their hair and it seems to have practically ruined their life. It ultimately needs to be his decision. It sounds as though the way he wears his hair isn't the greatest. Have you suggested buzzing it? Some guys with thinning hair can look great with a buzz look. I know for me personally my hair looks a lot better shorter. To answer your question about how I ended up on this board....well, unfortunately, I'm one of those guys who has been slightly devastated by hair loss so I decided to do something about it. I've learned so much from this wonderful forum and I'm currently interviewing HT docs to decide who I want to go with. I plan on getting an HT next Spring to restore my hairline. Good luck!
  13. Looks fantastic and you have lots more growth to come. It gives me hope too because my hair loss is similar to yours. Congrats!
  14. I actually think you look pretty good with the shaved head look! At least you know that is a valid option down the road if you need it, unlike some of us with weird shaped heads!
