  1. Let's all sign up for their mailing list and then keep an eye out in Jan 2012 when the trial results are published. Dumb question, but - does the technology basically grow your hair back in the same place it was? Or would their still need to be some "artistry" on behalf of the doctor implanting the cells in the procedure so that results are aesthetically good as a hairline designed by Feller, Shapiro, et al? They mention injections in bald spots, but the hairline is different. Or does it just "wake up" the dormant hair so it grows back in looking natural? http://www.replicel.com/wp-content/uploads/our-science/hair-cell-preplacement/procedure-graphic.jpg
  2. Thanks Hariri! Looking forward to following this one.
  3. Hmm, I'd always heard 3 times per week.
  4. Interesting, never heard of the massage curing inflammation. What was the website that described/explained this?
  5. I remember having that corkscrew effect on my transplanted hairs in the first year and worrying about it a bit. Before long they straightened out and I forgot all about it. Even the doc couldn't really explain it, but I think it's somewhat common.
  6. FWIW, I chatted previously with 57mph about this and told him that I'd visited Feller, T&D and Shapiro this year and they all told me I was a candidate, yet the top of my head is what you'd call moderate diffuse thinning -- the donor area is not, though. I guess that is one major thing to consider. But the overall advice here is sound, that you'll never really know for sure until visiting a clinic that can spend time with you face to face. I was impressed visiting the Shapiro group that they took time to do microscopic photos, counted hairs, calculated density, etc, so that we have much more clear, quantifiable data to work with in planning for the future.
  7. Cheers, OtherSyde, that looks really nice and natural.
  8. Ironically I was in Minneapolis the day after Aaron got his procedure done and we bumped into each other at Shapiro's office where I had scheduled a consultation. Firstly, it was cool to see someone about my age with roughly my own hair characteristics enjoying the results of surgery, especially someone who was down to earth with realistic expectations. Secondly, I was impressed by how scientific and thorough the consultation was. They used some software and magnification to give me a more precise idea of donor density and how it might be spread across the scalp in future surgeries. It made a lot more sense to see what it looked like in blow-up photographs. I'm currently trying to schedule my first surgery with Shapiro in early October, I'm hoping. After visiting, I felt good about putting myself in their hands.
  9. No harm in posting a pic with the face cropped out. The only obvious transplants I've noticed is when they're perfectly U-shaped across the front hairline, obviously kind of wispy behind, and then doesn't meet with the natural hair surrounding it. At this point, I subtly glance at the back of the guys head. Rarely is there a visible scar, though, unless his hair is particularly short.
  10. They should put your results in their online portfolio, it's definitely that good.
  11. If you use responsive design (media queries, resizing for mobile form factors), you shouldn't need an actual app, just a more mobile-optimized version of the current website, which I think is what Bill's saying. In any case, this is getting very easy to do. /webdesigner
  12. Curious why not more than 1464 in one session? Why not 3000? Will be neat to see how your growth looks in a few months.
  13. I just searched for it on Froogle, and many of the top results say Out of Stock. What's going on?
  14. I've been buying Nizoral at the Duane Reade drugstores in Manhattan for a few years, and suddenly they're all gone. No one at the story knew why, but I went to 3 different stores. Just now when I went on Amazon, the cheapest I could find for an 4oz bottle was $24. A 7oz bottle is $43! http://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-A-D-Shampoo-4-oz/dp/B0000Y3CRY/ref=sr_1_16?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1308700831&sr=1-16
  15. Looks great. I take it no shaving was necessary?
  16. Looks good to me, man. Both in the sense that it looks natural, but also that it does not look noticeably "thinning" except in the eyes of you and maybe others who have thinning hair. Otherwise, pretty subtle, and the rest of your hair looks (enviably) great. That's a great sign that Dr Dorin is communicative and wants to help get you to where you want to be.
  17. One the one hand I want to applaud him for being so transparent and unashamed about it. On the other, it seems like hubris. He's gotten an HT from a place with a bad reputation and I doubt he's gotten approval from Man Utd staff to go on Propecia or Rogaine. His progress (regress?) will now be visible to the public in full-color and high-definition during each week's game. Interesting to see if he'll need to visit another surgeon in 3-5 years, and how proud and transparent he'll be about that when the time comes.
  18. Can anyone clarify what an "untreatable" crown is? If someone has 6000 grafts available, it seems like the front and mid could be shored up pretty well with 4000, and the other 2000 could be spread lightly around the crown, no? Sure you wouldn't look like Tom Cruise, but you would have enough hair to style. Again, pictures would help.
  19. Dumb question, but - why do people who have had transplants cut their hair short enough to see the scar? Why not cut it right to the length where it would almost be visible and leave it at that? That's what I've done for 10 years. Only once did I get it cut so short that the scar was sort of visible, but even that was only exposed if you really knew what to look for.
  20. Great and honest response from Dr Dorin, I'd say, more forthcoming than I imagine many docs would be. My question is, had he come back to you and discussed in full detail (instead of turning to another doctor), how would you have remedied it? Would you do another surgery at the same cost? Lower cost?
  21. Footballer Wesley Sneijder had hair multiplication with Dr. Gho. (Link removed by moderator)
