  1. Looks great buddy, glad to hear you're happy. That's a good sign Feller has so many patients coming from all over Europe to have the procedure. Goes to show his work is worth the research and travel costs.
  2. Once more just curious if you could have a look at the other questions I posted?
  3. Thanks Dr. Feller. The fact that you'd answer those questions for the benefit of the forum speaks well of you and reminds me why your reputation is so good. If more doctors were this forthcoming and transparent, we'd have greater numbers of happy patients. Could you take a look at my other 2 questions and let me know what you think? Thanks!
  4. Will do. She must have misunderstood. I do think the answers to those questions are somewhat universal and would benefit the community to read also, no?
  5. Me, via email: "Basically I was just wanting to tell Dr Feller I'd had a good consult with him, but had a handful of questions I'd forgotten to ask. I wanted to know if he preferred to be emailed directly or talk on the phone, or whether it'd be easier to answer them on the online forum so others could read the answers too." Sharon: "Just send the questions to the online forum. Thanks again. Sharon"
  6. I met with Dr Feller a few weeks ago and had a good conversation. But I realized when I left, there were a few questions I'd neglected to ask and his secretary told me to ask them here. Anyone else is also free to join in, too. 1) When I visited True/Dorin this summer, I was told I had about 4000 donor grafts to work with. When I met with you, I was told 2000. Any reasons for the discrepancy? 2) I had surgery with MHR 10 years ago and have mini grafts at the hairline that don't look as good as the work you do. If I were to do surgery, would you be able to remove some of them, or would you work around them? In the widow's peak area, would you actually be able to remove 1/4" from the hairline so it's not so low in the middle? 3) You mentioned you would need to shave down the center of my hair to get any work done. Do you also need to shave around the donor area? Can you guarantee that after a 2000 graft session that my scar would be the same size or smaller once you're done with it, rather than a bigger scar or a second scar? Thank you!
  7. Looking great. I just had a consult with Dorin this summer. Sounds like you're happy. Are you in the NYC area also? Also can I ask how you plan to cover the recipient area for the next few months while you go back to work?
  8. Sounds great, would love to see some photos if you get the chance to post them.
  9. Gotcha. Well please do keep us updated with photos and info. Glad to hear you've had a good experience.
  10. The density in that passport photo which you're saying is 10 days old looks like twice the amount than the pre-op pics from H&W taken this week. Am I misunderstanding? Or maybe the pic is just deceptive?
  11. Just curious, do you plan to shave your whole head soon so that the front and back are even and can grow in evenly? (Which I'd guess is intimidating since it would expose your scar.) Otherwise, how do you plan on covering the recipient area in the next few months? Or do your friends/family already know about the surgery? I asked about the shaving just because it seems to make post-op coverup that much harder. Thanks!
  12. Sounds great. Curious, did you need to shave your recipient area ahead of time, or did he insert the grafts between your existing native hairs?
  13. Interested to hear about your experience with Dr Feller. Please drop me a line if you get a chance...

  14. When the job started, though, didn't they notice the 2 scars in the back? Even with the dermmatch, they still seemed evident in the photos, though maybe I'm noticing because I'm already aware they're there.
  15. I took Avodart for a year back in 2003 and it really seemed to stabilize my hair, maybe even thicken it. At some point I got off it because of money issues. Since then, I've taken Propecia. Now in 2010, I'm considering getting back on again, but can't find a doctor to prescribe it because they say the side effect they keep hearing about is that it causes inexplicable loss in some patients which is strange. But he said you could buy it online through various channels without problem. Is that recommended? Is anyone really seeing the negative side effects? I never experienced them previously, but am now a little wary to try again. Any good place to buy online?

  17. Thanks. So what did you do to cover the redness, bumps, etc, for the first 2 weeks? Did you wear a hat? Did you go right back to work, or take a week off?
  18. Also... how come the doctor said to avoid cosmetics (Toppik, etc) the first 6 mos?
  19. Thanks Aaron. So didn't the 2nd surgery leave you temporarily bald down the middle but hair on the sides (judging from the pics)? Or did you shave down to the stubble all the way around. That's what I'm worried about, that the effect would be too severe compared to how I wear my hair now. If it came down to it, I could potentially wear a hat and/or work from home for the first month or so.
  20. I got 600 grafts done at MHR 10 years ago and am researching another session now, here in NYC. I have met with both Dr True and Dr Feller and both were very impressive. One thing that freaked me out a bit talking to Feller was that he prefers to shave the whole front and crown before performing surgery. For better or worse, this was definitely not the case when I got surgery originally. My hair then was medium length. I don't really want to go from having the appearance of moderate/thinning hair, to no hair on top for 4 months. So my main concern is how I will return to work after surgery with the entire top of my head shaved. I cannot shave the entire head because I don't want to expose the previous donor scar. How do patients hide this? Dr True never mentioned shaving the whole recipient area. To be honest, it's a major hang-up for me. The first time I had surgery, there was plenty of natural hair that covered the scarring, so returning to work wasn't as complicated.
