  1. Baldboy. You will likely need more than one procedure, especially if you start losing this early. I'd stay on the meds and shave for a few years. Who knows, by the time you are thirty, you could be a full blown NW 7. I know some NW 7's before they hit 25 and they started to lose at about 19 or 20.
  2. Looking good Mercer. That's quite a good start there at six months!
  3. The tingling only started in my donor area really when I started doing scalp exercises for a future procedure. But yeah, I hear ya. It's not painful, just noticeable. 11 months seems to me a long time to be experiencing numbness I think.
  4. Is it painful? I'm over 12 months post op and I get occasional tingling around the right side by my donor area.
  5. Hey Dustin.. are you finasteride? I've heard that the meds can stave off shock loss.
  6. As Norword6guy was saying: "I haven`t considered dying it, however my ex wife never stops nagging me to hit the just for men. Just to explain we have cancelled the divorce since the proceedure so she seems impressed." It's a sure sign that a transplant was a huge success when it saves a marriage!
  7. I think the results look excellent. That's a remarkable improvement from the pre-op photos. An age appropriate hairline for sure. What I wonder is what can be done with such a large bald crown for future procedures?
  8. Cautious, that's good to hear. I have yet to hear a doctor express what mmhce said. Not saying it isn't true.... just saying.
  9. I've been a pretty avid reader of Dr. Rassman's blog and he continually reiterates that Propecia will not cause any birth defects for the baby. I'm not sure if it'll effect your sperm. Maybe someone else has more knowledge.
  10. I would start with Minox or Finasteride by itself first. Otherwise, how do you know which one is doing the work? I had Finasteride for about a year before I tried Minox. When I tried Minox, the skin on my ears were drying up since they had an allergic reaction to it. But I'd start with Fin if I were you.
  11. Thanks Dr. Simmons for taking the time to write that up. Very informative indeed.
  12. Just 5000 grafts? Sheesh, could you have gotten more? Just kidding of course. Looks awesome.
  13. Could someone explain the difference between laterals and sagitals. I'm clueless. Thanks.
  14. Dude, get Proscar and cut them into 4ths. It's the same drug as Propecia (Finasteride) but a larger dosage. I spend about $25 a month. Much cheaper than Propecia. In fact, some people get prescribed generic Proscar and pay about $5-$10 a month.
  15. Those are some good, clean looking post-ops. Put up a blog so we can follow your progress.
  16. It's hard to say. The area looked to be thinning in the first place so it could very well be shockloss. I used dermmatch and toppik. Put on the dermmatch as a foundation and sprinkled the toppik on top of it. It has been my saving grace through an awkward period. It can appear chalky at times though, depending on the lighting.
  17. If you grew some hair while on Rogaine then you will lose it once you stop. Same rule applies for Propecia (finasteride). So stay on Rogaine if it has worked for you and get on Propecia asap. It's the best medical combo on the market.
  18. Severn. Yeah, I have responded well to Finasteride. But I don't think it has completely halted the process. So I do expect to see more thinning in the future. It's a bit scary I must say. How long has it been since you stopped the meds? Predator. I have been following your progress and I am much impressed. I will say that my result looks awful in certain lighting and decent in others. But I have no choice now but to go a second round.
  19. What if McNamara had a transplant done in his forties? Not plugs, but the state of the art HT that many doctors here are not performing on a daily basis.
  20. I think eventually there will be more options to fight hair loss. But I must say I am getting tired of hearing "5 years". It seems like they've been saying that for decades. PRP looks to be the next big thing. And then maybe HT multiplication after that.
  21. Robert McNamara died today. I always was intrigued by his hair loss pattern. As an adult man, it appeared he had his hairline intact with no visible balding. But it looks like he went from a NW1 to a NW7 in just a couple of years. Here are some comparison shots. This kind of balding scares the s*** out of me.

  23. Oh btw, I had a procedure and I still have to use concealers. There are no guarantee's that a HT will get you off of them.
