3,397 Grafts Dr. Luis Nader - Reynosa,Mexico

I wanted to share my experience with Dr. Nader and my procedure that I received yesterday as I used this network to ultimately decide on Dr. Nader.

It is obviously too early to comment on results but I can tell you that this experience far surpassed my expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Nader. His professionalism, attention to detail and care for the patient was amazing.

I am a 40 year old man that has been experienced thinning since my late 20’s. I have been using Finasteride orally and 5% minoxidil foam for about the last 10 years. Accommodations, travel and costs have been right in line with previous posts from members on this network. The one thing that was less than perfect was the communication to get the appointment booked and follow up questions with the scheduler/office person. It often took multiple follow ups but they did come eventually. This made much more sense after getting to the facility and realizing that it was one woman replying to all inquiries. I spoke with Dr. Nader about this and they are currently booked out until December and they have considered more advertising as well as office staff but they are busy enough where they feel they would rather keep costs low for patients. My advice is keep reaching out to Ms. Salazar and following up on those emails, she WILL return them when able. I will tell you that when you are booked, Dr. Nader gives you his personal cell number and encourages you to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Total Grafts : 3397

Single: 443

Double: 2343

Triple: 590

Quad: 21

Overall the procedure took 8 hours with about a 30 minute break for lunch that was complimentary (Tacos were delicious). Total cost was 5,300 after discounts for 1/2 cash payment.

6/15 - Flew into McAllen, Texas and spent the night at Home2Suites by Hilton, it is roughly 3 miles from airport. The rooms are clean and they have microwave, full fridge, sink and tableware which came in handy because I decided to stay an extra day to heal up a bit before the plane ride home.

6/16 - From what I have read, usually Dr. Nader has a driver pick you up but Mr. Santos had a medical issue that was being taken care of so Dr. Nader actually picked me up at 7:30 am and brought me over the border. I learned that he also lives in McAllen. It was a great opportunity to speak with him regarding the procedure and get to know him a bit. He is very passionate about hair restoration, I got that immediately. Crossing the border was very easy and we were at the facility in about 20 mins after pickup. Reynosa was not intimidating whatsoever and his facility resembled a clean looking, secure 2 story medical strip mall. It is not extravagant by any means but seemed safe, secure and clean. The inside of the facility was the same. If you are looking for a modern, club like feel like I have seen in some of the Turkish advertisements, this facility is not for you. Dr. Nader told me that he concentrates on the procedure and taking the time to find out exactly what the patient wants and I agree with his assessment. Given the fact that his business seems to be thriving from virtually no advertising and almost 100% word of mouth,  his results speak for themselves.

Spent about an hour drawing different hairlines and addressing my concerns. We ultimately went with a pretty conservative front hairline and concentrating on total coverage over crown. I am very pleased with that decision as I did not want an aggressive front at my age. I can tell you with 100% confidence that it is not in Dr. Naders nature to over charge you with unneeded grafts. He drew it out and explained coverage in each quadrant and why he thought that would be best. At no point did I feel pressured. In fact, I originally went in with the expectation of 3000 grafts but after speaking he thought closer to 3500 would be best but he only charged me for 3000 because that is what he originally recommended. You don’t see that very often, even here isn’t he states!

During the procedure, it was broken up into 2 stages. First was extraction, which was the most uncomfortable in my opinion. That is because you are in somewhat of an uncomfortable position facedown for a very long time(3-4 hours). Dr. Nader is very aware however and will let you take breaks as necessary. He also constantly checks in with you for pain management. It was more uncomfortable than painful as you are applied Lidocaine to donor areas. Second was implementation that was preceded by quick lunch. During graft placement you sit upright for the procedure. He puts on Netflix for you and you choose what you would like to watch. Dr. Nader had 4 assistants in the room with him to assist. It was very smooth and pain was almost non existent, just a very strange feeling when the needled were puncturing skin, hard to explain. After procedure, we go over results and aftercare. Ride back home was a bit more difficult but that was because of traffic crossing the border. Agent asked why I was in Mexico and after telling him I was there for a hair transplant, he asked 2 or 3 questions about the procedure, handed me my passport and I was on my way.

Like I said previously, at this point, I am ecstatic that I decided to go with Dr. Nader for the procedure and would recommend him to friends and family without even thinking twice. Highly advise adding him to the trusted doctor list.

I have included pictures of pre op including actual photos I sent to Brenda Salazar to secure appointment , day of surgery and day 2 post(you’ll notice the swelling is significant but anti inflammatory meds starting this morning) . I will update after bandage comes off and further results if anyone is interested. Glad to help the community as it helped me!

Awesome, thanks. Your hair loss is a lot like mine- almost full coverage, little hairline receding and almost the same overall pattern. My crown is still decent, but it's been starting to go the last couple of years (turning 36 this year). I'm really curious to see how this turns out as I'm looking to take the plunge in the next couple of years.

Following!

Just about 2 months lost procedure now. Ugly Duckling phase in full effect with a bit of shock loss I assume as well. I have also gotten a fair amount of pimples on the do or are in the past few week. Checked in with my Dr. Nader and he let me know that his is common and I am right on track. I’ll update again in 30 days.

Looks great, best of luck with your journey.

I am also interested in a HT with Dr. Nader but have been unsuccessful at reaching him via Nadermedical.com.

You mentioned Dr Nader is booked till December which is understandable, any advise or phone number you would recommend I can use to get in touch with Ms. Salazar ? Thank you

Got a question I can’t seem to find. But I am still very happy with the results. Can’t wait to see what the next couple months bring. It’s not automatic. But you will see where the hairline is. Be patient.

You're right on track, the ugly duckling phase is upon you. It's not that bad all things considered. You should be seeing some growth in the next few months happy growing 🙌

Sorry for the delay! I am currently 4.5 months post procedure and I have really seen some changes in the past few weeks. My hairline is just as we discussed. The overall density is still coming in and I am very confident that the next month or two will be really good for growth. Still ecstatic with the results so far. 83109AB9-A66C-4612-AB4C-3D24FE3095BA.thumb.jpeg.457cbe686892c550bb768b448dcb5c1c.jpeg66115DFB-3203-4D4D-ACDC-150A8334E8A8.thumb.jpeg.9f9944fdd1cd64f15ace1e4d9d02e701.jpegBA29AFA1-5540-49CC-9361-01BA7ADFEDBA.thumb.jpeg.d401fbceac063ebee8926ea1ac65c330.jpeg
