Regular Member disco_07 Posted July 6, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted July 6, 2020 Hi All, I have been lurking on this forum for a couple of years now, and have decided to finally take the plunge with a HT late next year. I have had consultations with H&W, Feriduni and Rahal. But after reading others reviews and reading how each Dr operates I think Dr Konior is my first choice. Price is not an issue when it comes to surgery as you should want the best, but Dr Konior seems more expensive than other Drs, and being based in the UK I wanted to see if there was any other Drs I should be looking at before putting down the non-refundable deposit? Also I have only had an online consultation based on photos I sent, did other people feel hesitant to book just based on that before such a big decision/cost? Any responses would be great, Disco
Senior Member aaron1234 Posted July 6, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted July 6, 2020 (edited) Dr. Konior is most definitely worth his rate, just ask @1978matt who is also from the UK. The question is what to make of international travel over the course of the next few months/years (?) due to the pandemic. Perhaps if you book a procedure a year in advance you can assume that things will have settled down by that time. We can only hope. Dr. K is fantastic choice for a first procedure (or any subsequent HT's), no question. 😎 Edited July 6, 2020 by aaron1234 1 Dr. G: 1,000 grafts (FUT) 2008 Dr. Paul Shapiro: 2,348 grafts (FUT) 2009 ~ 1,999 grafts (FUT) 2011 ~ 300 grafts (Scar Reduction) 2013 Dr. Konior: 771 grafts (FUT) 2015 ~ 558 grafts (FUT) 2017 ~ 1,124 grafts (FUE) 2020 My Hair Transplant Journey with Shapiro Medical Group
Senior Member Curious25 Posted July 6, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted July 6, 2020 I would offset his extra cost with what he is able to do with a lower amount of grafts compared to other clinics. Not only will that contribute to possibly evening things out in terms of the overall price on a $/graft price plan - but your donor grafts are invaluable, therefore should equally be viewed as an expense. Eg. 3000 grafts with clinic A = $30,000 2000 grafts with Dr Konior = $30,000 Same price, same illusion of density, however an extra 1000 grafts in the bank. Senior Member makehairgreatagain Posted July 6, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted July 6, 2020 100% worth it. I have had 2 surgeries and from the consultation to aftercare, there is consistent communication. Remember, he only does 1 surgery a day so he's not rushing to get to the next person. The level of detail and passion he has is what you want in a surgeon

Senior Member paddyirishman Posted July 6, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted July 6, 2020 Excellent Doctor . Very ethical. The wait time is a few years if I'm not mistaken. Paddy

Regular Member disco_07 Posted July 7, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 7, 2020 Thanks everyone for the quick and helpful responses! They have reassured me alot, I knew he was a great Dr but seeing all the positive responses is great. I was offered a time in 8 months, but I am waiting till next Autumn to hopefully ensure Covid doesn't interfere with travel plans/ I think Autumn is the best time practicality wise. I don't know if I am allowed to say prices, but it is a per graft deal. If less grafts are needed there is a refund

So how much does Dr. K charge per graft ? Paddy
