6 Month update- Dr. Rahal 4,616 FUT

It is that time again for another update! I am now at the 6 month mark...man time flies when your growing new hairs everyday!!! lol.

My hair is thickening and also getting more mature everyday now. I know I may sound like a broken record, but this has easier been the best decision for me after sooo many lost years of worrying about my hair loss!

Having my hairline back now has put me at ease in that I literally don't worry about my hair anymore...I think that is the biggest improvement in that worrying about my hair was a full time job for me...always in my mind and trying to hide my loss with Toppik and other clever ways. Now that I don't worry about it I can focus on other things in my life. It has opened new doors that I always thought would be closed. So if any of you are still on the fence, get off it and get your HT because there is hope for everyone to beat hairloss!

I also want to report to everyone that I am officially 100% TOPPIK FREE!!!!! I honestly NEVER thought I would ever say or write that...but the day has FINALLY come where I don't need Toppik! This week I decided Toppik's reign needs to end although it has truly been a life saver for me and without it I would have NEVER left my house because I couldn't face my thinning hairline. It has been such a crutch for me for sooo many years. However, a new era has begun and I am finally free. I can't believe how great my hair looks and with NO TOPPIK! It is so thick and my hairline is so prominent and natural looking. I love not having that stuff in my hair because it does look suspect in the hairline especially since I put a lot on to hide my thinning. SUCH a great feeling not to use it anymore! I remember sitting at a bar with Jotronic in Vancouver when I went for my consultation and he said to something along the line of one day your not going to ever have to use Toppik again and he wanted to be there...so I'm ready for a drink again Joe!!! :)

As always, I'm here to help and answer any questions/concerns anyone has...so please feel free to drop me a line or comment!!!

P.S. I have somewhat of wavy hair now (esp with my new hairs they are still immature and tough to manage a little), so I was curious if anyone had/uses a product that tames wavy hair to make it perhaps a little straighter and easier to manage.

Thanks everyone...check out my new pics below!!!

Congrats Cappeli, Super natural Toppik density. Your hair without anything on looks so beautifully thick and in only 6 months. You are very very lucky patient with outstanding yield. Cant imagine how it would look in one year. Are you on any medications?

Congrats man. Do you know what the grafts per square cm in your hairline was? I think this is gonna do you for a long time. That really is a crap load of grafts. I can't believe he fit 4000 grafts in that small space. Dr Rahal has been on a several year hot streak. I think he might know something he isn't sharing.

Looking great Capelli, insane growth. Did Dr. Rahal mention how many grafts you have in the reserve should you need further work in the future(doesn't looking like you need it though)? Did you notice any sides from Proprecia?

Looking good Capelli, congratulations.

2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK.

Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.

Thanks Everyone!!! I didn't get the final numbers but I asked Dr. Rahal back when i had it done and he said I think 60-62 ish in the front and then scaled back as it went deeper into my head. If you all remember though my hairline was a mess and was barely there anymore...so this was necessary to get good density and build it back up. Dr. Rahal said I had plenty of grafts remaining to cover any future surgery...at least 4k left but I'm sure I could get more if need be via FUE. The last time i saw him which was in May he said he wouldn't recommend any more HT's as of now as my crown is holding up...not a perfect crown area as he said there was a little loss but nothing that would be visible at this point...he said he wouldn't recommend anything at this time which was great to hear!

I am currently on Propecia (no sides thankfully) and Rogaine. Propecia since May 2010 and Rogaine since post 3 weeks...so around Christmas time 2010.

He didn't just do the hairline packing...he went pretty deep into my head...90 cm's which is a lot so the 4,616 grafts went a long way.

Capelli, You are so lucky for being a virgin scalp patient. Great growth and density, Strip really yields better than FUE if compared. Are you on Finastride? Also whats the estimated hairline density after your last HT?
