Senior Member aaron1234 Posted December 12, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted December 12, 2009 Bullitnut, The difference is mind blowing. You hair looks great now. I'm so glad you got such great yield on your scarred head. It's a true testament to Dr. Shaprio's work and everyone at SMG. You had such a large area to cover with only 2300 grafts and you've got some very good coverage. So questions... How has your life changed?!? And are you planning on going back for some finishing touches? Senior Member bullitnut Posted December 12, 2009 Author Senior Member Share Posted December 12, 2009 sparky you know as i do the effects norton can have on someones life, and im sooo glad you are getting yours sorted too dude...as for how i put up with it for so long?...... believe me it wasnt easy! Im not afraid to admit that at times i was as low as you can get, ive seen myself walking around the streets at night not being able to sleep due to what this animal did to me ive been on antidepressents and suffered from severe bouts of anxiety and agrophobia because of norton, fortunately i got my head together about a year before my repair and started to focus on getting my life back on track instead of letting what happened to me rule me, i realised too that if i was to get sorted i had to be right mentally for a ht as the last thing any doc wants is an unstable patient. I also had to be realistic in my expectations as i was in a pretty bad way hairwise. Fortunately for me Dr Shapiro came to the rescue and changed my life forever!! Aaoron thanks for the nice comments dude! as for hows my life changed? the answer is simple, im finally at ease with what happened, ive put it to bed and am finally getting on with life as it should be thanks to SMG.....im much more confident and feel like a teenager again lol re- am i going again yup, the repair program Dr Shapiro offered me pro bono was always going to be a two stage affair..... the first stage was to lay the foundations and the second is to add a little density and a light coverage to the crown which is to take place around spring time buddy!!! warm wishes and regards bullit 2 poor very poor UK ht's 2 world class repairs with Shapiro Medical Group original thread http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.co...d.php?t=134995 Dr Paul's procedure http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=1710 Dr Ron's procedure http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=1128

Senior Member Janna Posted December 15, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted December 15, 2009 BN, You've come along just as you should be. Can't believe it's been almost a year already. BN was unfortunate enough to catch our freezing Minnesota winter last January so we thought he should get a break this year by coming in early Spring instead. We'll remove as much of the donor scars again while trying for as much donor as possible to thicken up his hairline and address top portion of his crown. We'll close in on a definate date by end of January. Senior Member aaron1234 Posted January 31, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted January 31, 2010 BN! Congrats man on being much improved. But why the heck did you cut your hair so short?!? Obviously, the illusion of density is greater when your hair is long enough for the layered effect. I'm sure you've learned your lesson. Your hair will continue to mature even past 12 months. It did for me from my first HT. I think a little dermmatch could help you out alot. Have you tried that yet? And have you set a date yet for round 2? As always, thanks for keeping us posted. And I can't wait to see what Dr. Ron does for you in your second session. Senior Member bullitnut Posted February 1, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted February 1, 2010 cheers Aaron dude re the buzz cut... i asked myself the same question matey as soon as i did it, but hey at least now i can say to myself what the heck it will grow back!!! its a difficult thing picking a haircut that you like for someone who hasn't had hair for over ten years lol, and its something that isn't spoke about much on the forums unfortunately. Ive never tried dermmatch i hear its good though, ive used nanagen and it works wonders for the illusion of density but its a little bit too tricky to keep applying every day so i only use it for special occasions buddy!!hows yours coming along bro any updates? I am now growing it out a little so its all good re styling Im very happy indeed overall as the initial goal was to create a foundation for stage two and to make it look more natural and hide the old pluggy work, which as imo been done great and i will be forever greatful to SMG for this. 2 poor very poor UK ht's 2 world class repairs with Shapiro Medical Group original thread http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.co...d.php?t=134995 Dr Paul's procedure http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=1710 Dr Ron's procedure http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=1128
Senior Member aaron1234 Posted February 1, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted February 1, 2010 BN, You definitely have a great foundation for a second surgery. i have no doubt another 2K grafts or so will make a substantial difference from where you are now. I liked the combed forward look for you. Styling and haircuts certainly make a huge difference for HT's. Right now, I 'm spiking mine up and using Thana's regimen (Aveda shampoo's, Samy Fat, FX Dirt). For being 5 months post-op, I'm pretty happy with where I am and those products certainly don't hurt. They do take some time to put in but after investing in a couple HT's I figure I just should make the best with what I have. Dermmatch can be good. It can also be too chalky if too much is put on. I use it for my crown and it looks great. But when I used it for my hairline it wasn't so great. Again, it does take awhile to get the hang of it and it's not always fun putting it on everyday and washing it out every night, but it does make a difference. Nanogen is good too, but I'd try a combo of dermmatch and nanogen if I were you. With a little longer hair and those two concealers I think you'd have a pretty full look. Senior Member Janna Posted February 1, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted February 1, 2010 Hey BN, Thanks for the update on your progress. You've certainly been very good about posting your progress on a consistent basis. We appreciate it very much. I'll be contacting you soon with a date for your second surgery. Good of you Aaron to give BN such great advices. Keep in mind that he's worn a hat for around 10 years. We see this as a 'work in progress' so he has plenty of time to find the right hairstyle for himself. Considering we had to spread just under 2400 grafts to the whole top of his head, we knew the density would be lacking after the first round, however, our initial goal has been achieved. Hopefully, we'll get similar number of grafts for the second session. Be good to get your updates too, Aaron. Glad you are happy with your progress so far. I've been updating my blog but I'll start a new patient thread for my 6 month update in a few weeks. And I still plan on visiting SMG at the 12 month mark. I can totally understand the difficulty in finding the right cut and style after a HT. It takes a lot of trial and error. The great thing for BN is now he finally has the chance to experiment! I'm stoked for him as I am sure the second procedure will put him over the top. Can't wait!
