  1. Who are the doctors on this website doing beard and body hair transplants?
  2. This is what my head looks like today. I shave my hair and I think it looks good. Iโ€™m fine with it. I wish I had a full head of hair but that wasnโ€™t in the cards. I might go back to Dr Umar one more time to get body hair transplanted but not sure. I lost most of my transplants from Dr Wong due to my previous health issues. Dr Umarโ€™s beard transplants and the hair tattoos make my bald head look better. I believe the beard hairs are more hardy.
  3. I want to update my hair blog but it wonโ€™t let me login. The password isnโ€™t the same as the forum. And itโ€™s been so long I forgot the password. Lol. I am thinking about going to see Dr Umar again.
  4. I had it done at "Good Look Ink" in Minnesota. I am not happy with the color. I think it has a bluish color to it. It is permanent. I don't have any plans for more SMP. I plan on having Dr Umar use beard and body hair in the future when I am up to it.
  5. Here is an update of what my head looks like today. I believe have lost more than half of my graphs. The "hair tattoo" helps camouflage my hair loss ok. I'm sorry the photos aren't the best but my wife used her cell phone.
  6. It was always my intention to come back on here and update my story (Good or Bad), but life dealt me a bad hand. Between my health problems and my Dad's death in 2012 I have been through hell. The past 2 years I have spent the majority of the day in bed. My health problems originally started in 2002. I was an elite athlete training for my first Triathlon when I came down with a flu-like illness and was never the same. Over the years I have gone to many different M.D.s looking for an answer to my health problems. All they gave me were drugs while I continued to get worse. When I went to have my transplants with Dr Wong I was not well, but I was still functional and did my best to deal with the pain and fatigue that I have on a daily basis. I basically feel like I have the flu every morning I wake up. After I had my transplant with Dr Umar my health continued to go down hill. In 2011 I finally found a specialist that helped find out what was making me sick. They tested me for Chronic Epstein Barr Virus and CPN Bacteria. My antibodies were elevated indicating ACTIVE INFECTIONS. For some reason my immune system was not keeping them under control. 98% of adults have EBV and CPN but their immune systems control it. The M.D. also tested me for Hypercoagualation(THICK BLOOD). My levels were the worst the M.D. had ever seen. The M.D. immediately called a blood specialist because she was concerned I could die from a Vein Thrombosis. They were actually shocked I hadn't died from a Vein Thrombosis(Blood Clot) already. The blood specialist also said it was a miracle I hadn't died from a blood clot. I guess people can be born with Hypercoagulation and they have to take blood thinners their whole life or people like me can develop Hypercoagulation during a serious infection. The M.D. put me on HEPARIN for over 6 months. Unfortunately Heparin can cause hair loss. Since I had Hypercoagulation when I had my hair transplants I have lost a lot of the transplanted hair due to lack of a good blood supply to the follicles. I eventually had to get "hair tattoos" to try to camouflage the hair loss. Dr Wong and Dr Umar are both awesome hair transplant surgeons and none of my hair loss problems are their fault. I have just been very unlucky. When I regain my health I plan on going back back to Dr Umar to have beard and body hair transplanted. However I will make sure my Hypercoagulation is under control before I have another surgery. I will post updated photos when I have time.
  7. And here are my POST-OP Photos after surgery #2 with Dr Wong. So there you have it. As the pre-op photos illustrate, if you grow your hair longer it will make your hair look thicker. Thanks again to Joe for sending me such amazing photos!
  8. For those that have been asking here are some very high quality photos that Joe took before hair transplant #2 with Dr Wong. Thanks to Joe for sending me these fantastic photos that he took. Here are my PRE-OP Photos before hair transplant #2 with Dr Wong:
  9. hairthere, My expectations were a very thin crown, but more density in the frontal region.
  10. Here is what Dr Wong did in my first surgery. Dr Wong originally wanted my hairline to be about 1 cm higher. You can actually see where he rubbed the original line away. [/q]
  11. I am not holding anything against Dr Wong. I like Dr Wong as a person and think he is a great surgeon. I have no idea what my yield was, but I can't cut my hair as short as I would like. Hopefully the beard grafts work in the scar. Am I unhappy. No. Was I expecting a little bit better result. Yes. I was definitely hoping for more density in my frontal region. And I do have fine hair. That is correct. I am just praying I get a good yield from this last surgery. Dr Umar does fantastic work also, so I am in good hands. The only reason I continue to come back is to give other Norwood 6 patients an honest presentation and realistic expectation. Be prepared for a marathon.
  12. You aren't the first to say this to me. I didn't want to go through another strip surgery anyways. And even if only 50% of the grafts grow, from Dr Umar's surgery, I still would end up with more grafts than what Dr Wong said he could get in a 3rd surgery. So my only recourse was to ask for a refund and I didn't do that. I am moving on.
