  1. 2573 Follicular units transplanted 871 singles 1566 doubles 133 threes A total of 4402 hairs Development progressing as expected. About 4-5 months now of initial growth. Full vertex development will take about 12 - 14 months.
  2. This patient is enjoying early development from his procedure with Dr. Dorin 4.5 months ago. 2375 grafts vis FUT were dedicated to front with allocation to the temple regions. 846 singles, 1445 doubles, and 84 threes made up the follicular units. Propecia started 2 months prior to the procedure.
  3. absolutely birdness....generally around 3 - 6 months the hair emerge and can be a bit fine and wispy at first...then around 6 - 9 months will sometimes take on a wiry almost coarse nature in texture....from about 10 - 14 months there should be an evolution into a more normalized texture and trajectory to the hair ...this sequence varies but there is definitely a progression that happens. If the hairs are transplanted properly, have been angulated and designed to lay together and the follicles are healthy with minimal trauma.. you should expect a very normal lay and appearance by around the 14 - 18 month mark. hope this helps. 4. This patient came to Dr. True for hair restoration in 2002. Faced with what eventually would be considered a classic and extensive balding pattern, the patient thankfully heeded Dr. True's recommendation to start a Propecia regimen. Along with his committment to medical therapy, in 2003 hair transplantion was performed in the amount of 1200 grafts to reestablish permanency throughout the frontal hairline/ edge of the forelock. Fortunately Propecia has been effective in stabilizing the crown region and actually has had some effect in the bridge/deeper frontal region. If the patient so chooses, additional treatment can be focused on the crown region.
  5. A total of 2306 grafts were transplanted to restore density and contour for this patient's hairline. Propecia is being used to stabilize the top/crown regions.
  6. yes at about the 10 month mark or so that will be assessed but a second step would likely extend into the top/crown region
  7. Extensive hair loss patterns are not ideal in terms of surgical hair restoration so the design and yield are critical to creating a meaningful result. This patient has about 5000 grafts as a donor supply so this initial treatment of 2816 follicular units was focused on the frontal region to achieve the most impact. There was also some subtle framing added to the temples. The grafts consisted of 802 singles, 1827 doubles, and 187 threes - a total of 5017 hairs. As the procedure was only 6.5 months ago, the result should continue to show nice cosmetic change over the next 6+ months.
  8. surprised no one has commented on this one....pretty amazing transformation....the photos document the result very nicely....kudos Dr. Cooley
  9. hi British guy.......you definitely are a candidate for temple peak restoration. There is a real art to recreating the temporal area but it can be quite effective and it doesn't take a huge number of grafts to accomplish. Also, those areas tend to grow in faster than other areas here is a sample of temple cases:
  10. It's quite common that patients can be unhappy with the scarring from strip procedures. Although when done properly one should expect an extremely subtle scar this may not come to fruition if not done with advanced technique. After 2 FUTs with one doctor and then an FUE session with another clinic to add hair into the strip scars, this patient sought out Dr. True for a follow-up FUE session. Dr. True extracted 613 grafts to help fill in the previous strip scars. So far at 5.5 months the yield is very promising. Typically in scar tissue, it can take longer for emergence and development so expecting further thickening in the coming months.
  11. This result is 1 year post-op. The patient requested a limit on the grafts to 1100 - Dr. Dorin ended up with 1108 to be exact - of those follicular units 286 are singles, 740 doubles, and 82 threes. Dr. Dorin met the patient's goal with this treatment. FUE discussed for follow-up treatment as this will likely more targeted depending on the patient's needs.
  12. thanks for having a look spanker, david, mick...this patient given his age, wasn't looking for a dramatic change in appearance so Dr. Dorin catered the treatment size to accomplish the patient's goal - this matched his expectations very well.
  13. thank you for everyone's comments.......there was some restoration that transitions into the top of the temporal area but not the temple points. This patient has opted not to use meds.
  14. This patient in his late 60's came to Dr. Dorin to enhance density and reshape what had become a eroded hairline - otherwise in pretty good shape hairwise. A targeted treatment of 1258 grafts was performed 9 months ago. At this time, that translates to about 5 - 6 months of growth - not fully developed but certainly on its way. Dr. Dorin will reevaluate around 12 months or so.
  15. Initially this patient presented in 2008 with recession and miniturization/thinning in the forlock. As an executive it was requested to way a bit on the conservative side initially. so a first HT of 1414 grafts was performed. As his hair loss progressed more frontally, treatments of 915 and 1032 were done to keep pace. At this stage, he has lost what native hair existed in the forelock and is continuing to thin into the top/vertex region. Dr. Dorin is planning a future procedure of @1700 grafts to address this area.
  16. This is an FUT result 9 months post-op. Technically another 3 - 6 months for full cosmetic development. 2811 follicular units were transplanted for temporal, frontal, top/crown coverage. 769 singles, 1675 doubles, 367 threes. What you see in this case is a major transition not only in density but in the quality of the hair - what was once miniaturized, unhealthy follicles now have been enhanced / replaced with permanent, growing healthy hairs.
  17. This FUE procedure is developing nicely. Dr. Dorin extracted 1750 grafts. The procedure took 7 hours. Showing about 4 months of new growth at this stage. 551 singles 889 doubles 310 threes
  18. bb7.....i started losing my hair at age 17 so I understand you situation - im now 41 with basically a full head of hair....been using propecia for about 15 years....its been really critical to the success of my restoration....i have replaced the front with about 4000 grafts and have been able to maintain my top/crown hair with medication. i know the impulse is to try to nip it in the bud with a huge transplant to the front but i also suggest you commit to Propecia for a year and then reconsider initiating frontal restoration. i think this will give you more peace of mind and bode well for the future. gltu!
  19. very normal to have a mix of anxiety and excitement leading up to the procedure. i'm sure you will find the experience a pleasant surprise - plus you're in good hands;)
