  1. female hairloss, i have read that a 2nd procedure can take longer to grow in due to scar tissue.
  2. why are you limiting yourself to 2 docs? if i were you i'd definitely do a consult with h&w. in fact, with your level of balding they would be my top choice. you're definitely gonna need, imo, 4k grafts. but i'd say you don't want to be an armani guinea pig or pay that hefty price for an ht.
  3. ttds, after my first ht i new immediately something wasn't right so i went to dr.feller the next day and he confirmed my fears--i had been given mini and micro grafts and for what i paid received hardly any. so there i was, having just dropped $7k and knowing that the next year would produce pawltry results from my ht. i'm now 4 months post-op from ht#2 with feller and it was a long and expensive journey--my first ht doc did not stand behind his work. so, things could always be worse. but have faith that your hair will thicken up.worst case scenario you have a good base to start with for a 2nd procedure if needed.
  4. if i didn't go to feller alexander would have been a 2nd or 3rd choice. every result i've seen from him is incredibly natural. he has poste a bunch of results on hlh and i think i've seen some here as well....
  5. ttds, one suggestion i would offer you just to help your appearance would be to buzz the sides and back down a bit. also, did epstein take immediate post-op pics? if he did you should have them. posting them here would also help us all get a better idea of what's going on. and you might want to post some better angles of your head now along with some closer shots.
  6. tom, looking good. thanks for coming back and updating us!
  7. good luck to both of you guys. i'm done here...
  8. kev, people would question this if it were a bosley result based on bosley's piss-poor track record. nobody on here is showing favoritism. i have seen people show off their bad results from top and coalition docs. the difference is that it's usually after 12 months time. and epstein says on his web site growth STARTS at 3 months. why are you insisting that you should see close to the final cosmetic results at 6-9 months time? some people might have close to it, others won't. again i urge you to find spex' post--it may help assuage your fears. and again, i'm not trying to attack you at all, just giving you some hope!
  9. there are a bunch of them on HLH in the patient results section right now..i'm sure if you did a search here you could find them as well....
  10. okay kev, so at 6 months time you are panicked and think your ht might be a failure. and so is ttds'. there's absolutely NOTHING you can do about it right now. so stressing yourself and this other poster will get you nowhere. call your doc and he will tell you the same thing: you must wait at least 12 months for the final result to make a judgment call. the reason i am telling you my experience is that while i had growth at 9 months, it was still thin. then the grafts thickened up and looked like the rest of my strong native and donor hairs.
  11. "Bill states that the average at 9 months 90% growth." kev, that is an average. it does not mean everyone will experience 90% growth. also, just because all of his hair may have grown does not mean it's fully thickened and matured. i am speaking from experience here, whereas you are speaking from 6 months growth of your first ht. plus, you are already a bit panicked yourself. my point is, should he be concerned--of course! it's only natural to feel that way. hell, i'm concerned and i'm only at 4 months. but the reality is that you cannot come to a full conclusion until 12 months time. every single ht doc will tell you that as will many experienced posters here. p.s. spex has posted a few times an example of a patient and his thickening between 8-9-12-18 months. the difference is dramatic.
  12. i had considerable changes from month 8-12 in the density of the transplanted hair. why is anyone suggessting we should change the growth timeline for what is acceptable with hts? there is no way to predict how each person is going to grow and at what rate. sorry kevkristy, but you're wrong. 3 months is a lot of time for the hair to mature. if your results look like they do now in 3 months then i would agree your ht is not a cosmetic success. but you must reserve judgment until then.
  13. you will need to post some pre-op pics. there's no way we can judge what type of growth you've had without them...
  14. go to www.irfanview.com/ and download their resizing software it's free. then just make the pictures half the size of the pixels.
  15. mike, i trasplanted into an area similar to yours and shockloss has not been an issue. of course there is a risk, but worst case scenario even if you did lose some hair to shockloss the 4k grafts will compensate and give you very good coverage/density, so i don't see you ending up worse then you are now. the bigger risk of transplanting into native hair is transection, but with a top doc like hasson you're gonna be fine.
  16. i went through the same thing man. luckily the work isn't a butchering as you said and a top ht doc can use those minis as a foundation to give you some really nice density.
  17. misterno, many docs will reimburse you for part of the travel/lodging too, fyi...
  18. looks good repo. with your amount of loss i think it's wise to approach it with a 2-pass ht. good growing to you!
  19. Fishman, my response was based on the FACT (not lots of theory and hearsay) that PAI admittedly uses outdated technology. have you ever seen the difference between an all FU procedure versus the minigrafts the PAI patients recieved? if not, i suggest you do so just to fully ensure you did all your homework. good luck.
  20. they show that ad constantly on the Yes network. what convinced you to use it? was it guiseppe franco or gary busey ? get on propecia or avodart and/or rogaine. those are the only meds/topical proven to work.
  21. Looks like clean work. good growing to you!
  22. Bill, how can you say he'll hopefully get a good result when the clinic admittedly uses mini and micro grafts? true his appearance might improve because he'll have hair where there wasn't any, but there is no way the quality will be as good as if he had FUs grafted. i think it's irresponsible of us to not give him full warning and try and educate him a little bit. isn't that what this forum is for? i honestly don't care what doc he uses (coalition or not) but i just hope he understands what he'll be getting for his money.
  23. hairdew, my personal opinion is that alexander does some of the most natural-looking hairlines out there. not sure i've seen any of his fue work but he did study under one of the masters. best of luck in your journey!
  24. Scary, right MeBlindMelon? Oh well, let him learn like the rest of us did...
