  1. Ok, I think you have a ways to go, especially on a revision. When it comes to strip scar concealment I've been addressing the entire donor zone so that it all blends seamlessly.
  2. How long ago was the revision? It can take a year or even longer for redness to subside and unfortunately sometimes it never does. I once had a client use a Fraxel laser to flatten his strip scars and also remove the redness. It was effective but this was attempted years after having the surgery. As far as applying topicals, my wife used Mederma and Scar Guard to help heal her C Section scar and it did improve it.
  3. I hope everyone has been well! As the title suggests, here are some of our Scalp Micropigmentation clients to start 2024. If you're interested text or call 201-482-4529 to schedule a FREE consultation.
  4. Most doctors will apply the consultation fee towards surgery if you book with them. $100 isn't a lot for a consult fee. I've heard of docs charging $350. If it's a doc you're serious about booking with I would not let this deter me. Besides you're gonna spend A LOT more on the actual surgery.
  5. I've had multiple surgeries with Dr. Feller and one with Dr Bloxham. To see pictures of my hair just search for my SMP clinic's web site Ahead Ink in North Bergen, New Jersey. I also have a YouTube channel where you can see my hair. I'm now 51 years old and would be a slick bald NW5/6 without HT surgery (I never took Finasteride). My first surgery was in 2005.
  6. I would advise against using SMP for this. Even though your hairloss is stabilized that hair can still go at anytime. Also it's a bit see-through in the front and I think the SMP would be a bit obvious.
  7. These clients all had hair transplants that left them with poor density. We used SMP to create more aesthetic hairlines and to fill in the thinned areas.
  8. At Ahead Ink I'm always looking for ways to improve the lives of hair transplant patients. Having 3 strip scars myself I understand how troublesome door area scarring can be. I recently devised a new approach where the entire donor zone gets treated with SMP. This works well for full concealment of both strip and FUE scars. Here is a client who had both types of surgery. He will return for a third session to further address lower/nape zone scars. Thanks for looking.
  9. You were a slick-bald NW7 and you're at 7 months. I get it, but you really have to be patient. Your transplant has a long way to go and lots of growing and maturing before being unhappy with your results.
  10. Unfortunately it doesn't. He'd need to shave down with a zero guard on a clipper. Adriam, your instinct about your donor is correct IMO. I wouldn't recommend having surgery.
  11. I'm seeing a growing number of clients like you that I have to perform Scalp Micropigmentation camouflaging on. I'll post some in the SMP section of the forum.
  12. Thanks for the mention. I'm actually going to be working on a very similar client today. Obviously this "clinic/doctor" is a scammer and should not be doing hair transplants, but the consumer really needs to spend more time researching and understanding what they're getting themselves into when they start down this path. OP: Sorry to say but it's doubtful you'll recoup anything from this. The best you can do is chalk it up to a lesson learned and be thankful your donor wasn't butchered. You can do SMP around those grafts but I'd recommend looking into removal either via surgery or laser. If you want to schedule a consultation reach out to me via email info@aheadink.com or text/call 201-482-4529.
  13. In my opinion the best way to maximize your donor zone is to do as many strips as possible and then switch to FUE. This was the approach I took and it allowed me to transplant almost 10k grafts. The problem with this approach is that consequent strip scars will likely be wider than the first. This could present an issue with the length you wear your donor hair. What is the quality of your current strip?
  14. I'm having to fix more and more clients who thought they could shave down after FUE without the scars being noticeable. Scalp Micropigmentation certainly helps disguise the dot scarring but I would advise against doing this if you want it to be completely undetectable.
  15. His donor zone has been destroyed. This is not a successful HT.
  16. This client had multiple transplants in the early 2000s that left him with strip scars and inadequate density. He didn’t want his SMP hairline too far from the perimeter of his transplant. Thanks for looking!
  17. Sadly, we're observing a cautionary tale in the making. Spartacus7 you've been given sound advice by members of this forum. At least you can't say you weren't warned....
  18. I've heard there's been an uptick in hair thinning due to Covid-19. Have you had it recently?
  19. This client sat for 5+ hours each session. The zone below the scar was particularly sensitive so he asked not to go lower. We may address this zone at a later date but he was fine with ending the work where we did. The dots you are referring to are actually hairs.
  20. It depends on what the donor looks like when shaved. If there's no appearance of shaved hair then the entire zone might need to be treated.
