  1. Firstly, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone willing to donate a strip of their own scalp. Secondly, it wouldn't work--i think i've read it might with a twin. Thirdly, if you want to shave that close look into fue.
  2. agent, if your scar was placed properly, which i'm sure bernstein did, the second surgery would simply excise the 1st scar so you'll just have one.
  3. i agree with you anouar, unless their web site is in serious need of an update.....
  4. anouar, i got that directly from their office. someone on here said they only did fue which i thought was odd so i called them and someone in the office confirmed this. however, i just spoke with them again and now they said strip only. her explanation was the person who answered the phone may have thought i said "FUT." either way, check this from their fact page: Q: How long does the procedure take? On the average, six to seven hours for 1000 grafts. if that's the case then i think the limmer's are a bit outdated as top strip docs like feller, h&w etc. are doing megasessions in roughly the same amount of time....
  5. erldette, actually a lot of doctors do give away extra grafts for free. dr.feller got an extra 300 from my strip and did not charge me and i know that's the case with many guys i've read about and talked too through these forums.
  6. Limmer only does FUE, hence the smaller session sizes.
  7. the only way you will convince this community is to have some veteran members try the product out. otherwise you are wasting your time here.
  8. erldette, did you get a $1 off per graft on your ht? did you come across docs that offereed this? what doc did you go to for yours? it's not clear if you're speaking from experience or if this is conjecture.
  9. "To get an idea of how you might progress, take a look at other patient pictures at your stage in the game." This is not always the best idea because some guys might start thinking their procedure was a failure if they don't look like another guy at x months. we have seen this happen a lot recently. just keep that in mind as you peruse others' results john. and good growing to you!
  10. I think what deyarman fails to understand is that this is a patient run community for patients. his presence here is a priviledge which he obviously does not appreciate. as i stated before, i feel for his patient, and a majority of the people on here do as well. this is a very compassionate group of people who post to try and help other patients--free of charge. And this might be scary for the doctor, but you cannot control our opinions or the right to express them.
  11. Paying per area can also set you up to get ripped off. my first ht doc did it: i ended up with about 600 grafts and paid $7k. I want to know EXACTLY how many grafts I'm getting. Makes much more sense.
  12. don't feel too special ht55, he sent the same note verbatim to all of us.
  13. Keep in in mind too that while growth starts around 3-5 months, significant cosmetic results take at least 6-7 months and the appearance will continue to change and improve drastically up to a year and beyond.
  14. You mean he didn't write us personal notes? now i'm really hurt!
  15. I just recieved an email from deyarman. here it is with my reply: Dear hairthere Your original comments on the" two sides to every story" thread were very rude. When I posted all the photos on Hair Transplant Patient Photo Albums under the "Six month results" thread you made no comment. You not only insulted me but more importantly you insulted my patient. If you were any kind of a man you would publicly apologize to my patient. You were out of line. This forum is for support and concern. It is not a chopping block and when people respond like you did it will make others afraid to post their results. I think you would agree that when you are losing your hair your self-esteem needs a boast not humiliation. Dr DeYarman dr.deyarman, firstly, how exactly is this rude? "I'm gonna have to concur with ht55: i don't know what that patient looked like before (maybe he was slick bald) but that does not look like a dense packed hairline. i have seen much more impressive work from other docs..." further, my intention was not to be rude but to give an honest opinion and an observation. if you were any kind of a professional you would understand that. and if you can't take a critique of your work i suggest you not post on this forum. i feel for your patient, and anyone undergoing hairloss, BUT that does not mean I'm going to apologize for expressing my thoughts. maybe our measure of manhood differs, but i was always taught to speak my mind.
  16. sounds like it is was fun richie, and a great experience for newbies. would love to make the nyc one but father's day will be tough....
  17. dewayne and jupiter, totally uncalled for guys. make nice.
  18. After paying all that money your doc should have gone over this with you step by step! Although when they do it is tough to listen after sitting in a chair for 8 hours having your head treated like a pin cushion. My doc told me the grafts were fully secure after 8 days, but defintely follow Bill's advice and be careful for the full 2 weeks....
  19. I got so fed up i did the same, although i just buzzed down to a #1 guard. The stubble was fun to play with. and i actually loved the look for a few years but then decided i wanted options so i got the ht, but would still consider buzzing down in the future....
  20. Thanks for the positivity MH... I was wondering where the good vibes had gone! Oh, and if by 12 months time I have no growth (which I doubt will happen) you better believe doctor Feller and this forum will know about it.
  21. Hey Glare, thanks man. I know this hairloss stuff can be very emotional, even though we may try not to let it get to us. And I can understand the stance you're taking: you just spent a nice chunk of change and want everything to look good. From my experience, while the work of my first HT was not great it was far from a butchering and I think you may be in the same boat. I would suggest that after a year you reassess and if the work is not to your liking consider going to another doc for a 2nd opinion. Whatever you do I truly hope it all turns out well. take care....
  22. That's all, but there's something you can share with the rest of us...how the hell do we get our panties unwadded? You seem to be an expert on the subject.
  23. Your words..... "It is one thing to be critical and informative, it is another to be critical and attacking." "Some of you guys just get your panties in a wad." Your actions: Nope, picture removal.
  24. Glare, You posted your pics on a public forum and asked for input. ("I want to focus on where I am going and What I can expect. I would appreciate any type of feed back positive or negative.") You didn't like what you heard, which was all helpful and honest advice designed to let you know that you might not get very dense results or that you might not have recieved modern work, so you pull the pics. You also claim that you have not seen more detailed pics on here, so we just posted to show you otherwise. And your pics are fine, it's your Ht work that's questionable...
  25. Thought it wasn't his style but I guess he got offended.....
