  1. thinman, he means a different kind of escort than you're thinking of....
  2. pgp, yes you might be right about that confusion of terms. it does show that newbies MUST do a ton of research to really understand what they are getting themselves into. it would suck to think you're going in for fue and come out with a strip scar....
  3. $4k for an fue megasession didn't sound right so this makes much more sense. why did you think you were getting fue? was it a language barrier problem? the work looks pretty good/refined. i do think 3k grafts for that large an area is a bit on the low side and you might want to add more density in the future. glad to see it all worked out for you and good growing....
  4. i did not go to shapiro but i will say i am very impressed by his work and he was in my top 5 choices. best of luck to you!
  5. Another thread taken completely off track. Hope this was helpful to you nyc!
  6. Getting back to the original topic, I think your hair looks great styled forward and i'd experiment with different hair products to see what tames it. i'd try some leave-in conditioners, too. and regarding the kinkiness of the hair, it's well known that the quality of the ht hair will continue to soften for up to 18 months so i wouldn't worry. you made a great choice in a surgeon and he truly is one of the "good guys" who will stand behind his work.
  7. mhr to hair club is going from bad to just as bad. do yourself a favor and consult with feller, h&w, rahal, shapiro, etc. in other words TOP doc.... also forget the laswuit and move on.
  8. emperor, perhaps it's not pitting, but the look of the work in his post-op pic is clear enough to tell that this was a really poor ht and there's no way he recieved 4k+ grafts.
  9. i am stunned they're telling you that's 4500 grafts. do yourself a favor and look at blogs on this site or go to hairlosshelp.com and look in the patient results section for people who have had even 3k grafts and you will notice a big difference. also, a tell tale sign, other than the big pits you have, that large incisions were made are those big bloody scabs you have. if you look at my case i had similiar scabbing from my first doc who gave me mini and micro grafts. the work from dr.feller on the other hand had very small, clean scabs because the incision/graft size was so tiny.
  10. i live in new york city and tried suing my doc in small claims court for breach of contract, not malpractice. but because the system is so backed up with case load i had to go back 4 times and i finally gave up. it's very tough to sue a plastic surgeon especially because of the waiver form you signed.
  11. wow, seeing that kind of ht work in this day and age really pisses me off. madrugo, i am sorry you have had this experience. all you can do now is wait it out (for 1 year) and then go to a top doc to get if fixed. i also recommend you post the doc's name so others don't make the mistake of going to her as well... p.s. i had a bad first ht experience as well (learned the hard way) so don't get too down on yourself and if you have any questions feel free to message me.
  12. i've had both: sutures in the hands of a hack doc, staples in the hands of a top doc. as far as comfort goes i'd say they were the same, staples did hurt more coming out. haven't really noticed if one is finer than the other although i had tricho closure on the stapled ht and i suspect it will look super thin....
  13. midi, from what i recall, the crown often lags behind the front because blood circulation to that area is slower to occur. every crown job, my own included, that i've seen on these forums has taken longer, so don't worry yourself...
  14. I agree with you that i'd rather pay premium dollar for top notch work, BUT the top ht docs charge $4/graft and in many cases the price goes down after a certrain number of grafts. so martnick is not just high, she is unreasonably high. people are paying her cost for fue. you could take the money you save from her and travel to a top doc.
  15. nick, firstly, this thread is somewhat old, so i'm not sure you'll get a response from the originator. secondly, $9/graft is a complete rip-off. i don't know if that's what she still charges, but i can tell you that the world's top 5 ht docs cost WAY less than that. as far as doing only 2500 grafts per session, (and i don't know if that's still all she can do) several clinics have proven that you can get up to 4k and over grafts safely and effectively. lastly, i have seen some of martnick's work and it is not very good, imo.
  16. I'm pretty sure this family gets public aid. if that's true it means the tax payers are paying for his ht....
  17. papaz, why are you adverse to strip? do you plan on wearing your hair buzzed short? i have two strip scars that are undetectable even when my hair is buzzed with a #3 clipper. and if you think fue does not cause scarring you need to do a lot more research on the subject.
  18. Dr.Feller is one of the top 5 docs in the world and he's less expensive than Bosley. As the others have stated, you are taking a huge risk by going to them. count your blessings you found that out now.
  19. ht55, i have to disagree with you. i think it's unethical to perform surgery on someone that young if their loss isn't that bad or if their nw pattern isn't established. but azza's thinning was quite bad and it was pretty clear what his pattern was.
  20. "Arnold Shwarzniger" This misspelling may imply worse about the governator than a HT....
  21. Even if it was possible I think people would donate a kidney before giving their hair!
  22. la la land, you should also look at dr. alexander in arizona. he has tons of results from guys who didn't shave their heads and gets fantastic results. very natural. he also does mature hairlines which i think would work great in your case. if you go to hlh he has a bunch of results posted there too. best of luck!
  23. IMO, the top five docs/clinics to start with are (in no particular order): H&W, Feller, Shapiro, Alexander, Rahal. Best of Luck!
  24. If I was into gambling I'd go to Vegas instead of Bosley: you have better odds there.
