  1. botched, of course there is such a thing as a good ht surgeon and a bad one. my first ht doc, joseph karamikian, did my surgery in 2006 and the results were awful. he used mini/micro grafts which were spaced far apart. my 2nd ht was done just 1 year later with doctor feller. he used true follucular units and dense packed them. karamikian simply didn't have the skills to pull off a dense pack. he also had lesser skilled techs. i'm not really sure why some people think hts are a simple surgery. it is an art form to recreate a hairline and to to give proper density. regarding bosley's bad rep on this site: they may have some good docs, but it's a bit of a crapshoot who you are gonna end up with. i'd much rather go with a clinic where i know the surgeon and more importantly his work/reputation well.
  2. Dr. Rahal gets amazing results. he was in my top 5 choices and i would have had to travel from new york (luckily dr. feller is in my backyard). i would also seriously consider hasson and wong if i were you. never heard of the other docs you mentioned which, although not a rule, is usually not a good thing when a long-time forum members aren't familiar with a doc.
  3. those are the only two known meds to work at preventing hairloss. you can also look into avodart which is stronger than propecia but there's less clinical data available on it.
  4. wantego, you have a loooong way to go. i remember being at month 7 and wondering if that was all the growth i was going to get. then in month eight i had a growth spurt. not to mention the quality of the hair will continue to improve drastically from month 9-18. looking at your 3 month pics i will agree with Bill: you're gonna have an A+ result! p.s, my redness lasted almost 6 months so don't worry, that will fade too.
  5. the redness stayed with me up until 5.5 months. do not worry, it will eventually fade completely.
  6. How can you be a medical advisor on a product that you're not sure even works and which you don't really even understand the principals of? this is just mind boggling....
  7. Just found this web site http://newhairlaser.com/ they claim to use a laser to perform ht surgeries. they also offer hairmax treatments. the marketing materials/before and after pictures look very shady.

  9. the difference, behappy, is transparency. jotronic, spex, etc. are upfront with their intentions, and a lot of the time they just simply offer good advice whether it has to do with their clinic or not.
  10. you are already selling this product without knowing if it truly works, doctor. your logic is quite backwards.
  11. Mohmand had the nerve to claim posters on this forum were biased and now this comes to light. what a joke. sorry Bill i have to disagree--i think what this doctor is doing is extremely unethical.
  12. Dr Mohmand, you're basically admitting the success your patients are having with the laser could be a placebo effect. and you're making money off this. highly unethical, imo. and i had to laugh when you tried to justify the cost by having a whole family sharing the laser device.
  13. no big surprise here. the results show that the laser combined with minox had the most significant increase. thank goodness for hts--we no longer need to waste money on products like a laser. there is still no scientific explanation to back this laser/hair regrowth "phenomena" up. Dr. Feller clearly presented this in his video. oh, and where are the pictures to back this study up? probably gathering dust with those big foot pictures....
  14. try hairlosshelp. he seems to post a lot of results on there.
  15. behappy, wasn't it also alleged that hitzig had random people working as techs, like a sanitation worker?
  16. he went from mug shot to head shot in 8 months...nice work dr. f!
  17. looking at their photo gallery i can't say i'm at all impressed. none of the patients have their hair fully grown out and there's only a handful to look at. this looks risky, and risk is not a factor you want involved in a HT. please don't be a guinea pig. regarding your confusion about fue vs. strip, there are pros and cons to both procedures. you just have to weigh those out. however, there are very few docs doing fue and even less doing fue megasessions.
  18. drummer, feller and bernstein are world-renowned docs who have patients that post hundreds of satisfied results on these boards and dedicated themselves to doing nothing but HTs. They are experts in the field. thus far no one has heard of sadick, hence the distrust factor. add to that the fact that you're a new poster, his web site seems a bit shady, and the fact that he does not practice HTs solely. we have seen many instances before where a poster suddenly pops up touting a new doc with no pics and it becomes obvious they are paid shills--a practice not accepted here. so again, take no offense, welcome to our community, and we do look forward to seeing your results.
  19. don't be insulted kickass. understand that this is an industry filled with slimey docs and money hungry sales guys, neither of whom cares about butchering hapless patients. we basically watch out for each other. if you did have a positive experience please post your results and prove us wrong.
  20. You are quite lucky: you have one of the top ht docs in the world right in your backyard, Dr.Feller. People travel from around the world to go to him. hitzig is a nightmare as is his lousy protege karamikian. there has been a class action lawsuit against hitzig if you don't take my word for it. never heard of sadick but i'd avoid someone who doesn't just do hts....
  21. Why not let the ht grow out first and then judge whether 3k was enough?
  22. a mature hairline and a soft hairline refer to two different things. a mature hairline has to do with the placement of the grafts. the appearnce of "softness" is achieved using single FUs, however your donor hair characteristics will also play a huge role. a mature hairline using single FUs can be achieched by any top surgeon. you simply need to spend time researching and when you find the right doc spend time going over your hairline design. best of luck!
  23. try using some product in your hair. there are tons of gels/pomades you can try. i use a straightening balm made by abba and then a anti-friss gel.
  24. Alexander in my opinion deserves to be ranked among the top ht docs in the world, so i don't think it's a mistake at all to factor in geography or a great package deal.
  25. i hear ya sky, but without any conclusive evidence that it's actually the laser helping to retain hair, it's somewhat wrong to assume it's that, post on a hairloss board, and lead others to believe this product actually works. i know for a fact that my hairloss was effectively reversed thanks to an ht and i have the photo documents (pre, immediate post, post op 9 months) to prove it. i cannot say the same for any laser enthusiast i have come across on these boards.
