  1. One more thing... I know it has been mentioned and maybe even a little bit worrisome regarding Dr. Path's reasonable prices... the idea of 'you get what you pay for.' Having been there... EVERYTHING in Thailand is less expensive than in West. I believe this has no bearing on the quality of Dr. Path's medical services. I feel 'you get more than what you pay for' Thailand is a hot spot for medical tourism cheers
  2. Hi Pat, I am a patient of Dr. Pathomvanich's. 27 years old and had 2377 grafts frontal. I am Canadian, currently working and residing in Korea. I decided to go to Dr. Path based on the feedback from these forums, and getting into contact with several of his former patients. All of which gave excellent reviews! He seemed to be the most solid choice in choosing a Dr. within Asia. Also, having recently finished university and beeing in the workforce for only a couple of year, budget was definitely a concern. Dr. Pathomvanich's prices were very, very reasonable! Anywhere else, at this time in my life, I don't think I know if would have been able to afford 2377 grafts. I am very to have been able to get to this Dr. while living and working in Asia. I am at the three month mark post HT and I couldn't be anymore thrilled with the results. My HT was completely frontal, so the design was crucial and it is growing in like crazy. I am, to this date, 110% satisfied with the results and eagerly waiting for what is yet to come. Prior to the HT, I conversed with Dr. Path and his head nurse for 4-5 months. They were always prompt with my emails, calls, they were honest and upfront about the photos I sent, grafts # estimates, prices and all quesions and concerns. They even over estimated me slightly to ensure that a job wasn't incomplete due to budget. He has two wonderful Dr.'s that work with him. Betweeen the three of them they answered all my questions, made me feel so comfortable, they were all honest, sincere. During the consultation they explained their HT procedures and ALL the techiniques. From using this sit extensively for research, and having consultations in two other countries... he was totally up to date... I also learned a lot of new things. I was 100% confiendent I was in excellent hands. His nursing staff washed my hair, assisted me with my hotel arrangements, escorted me into taxies post HT, massaged me during the HT. ALL WAS WONDERFUL. Dr. Path and the other two Dr. spent a very long time with me mapping out the design (both the day before and the morning of the HT) I was not rushed, they gave me adivce, their honest opinions and at no time did they make me feel like I needed more that what I expected. I NEVER felt anything like a sales push, and I quote "we will not transplant anymore grafts that what you need." During the HT I think they gave me xanax, I was completely relaxed and had massages. I feel asleep through some of it... I was quite sedated, but when looking around, the room was full of technicians working on the grafts. Not one of my hairs went into a cooler, they were disected and placed back in as soon as possible. I did get up a couple of times to use the washroom during the HT, and they let me see the technicians working on my grafts. Looked pretty cool! After everything was done, they helped me to my hotel and that night I went for a dinner at the hotel and slept with some discomfort. The next day they washed my hair and did a follow-up. I felt pretty good... good enough to spend the afternoon at the malls to do some shopping... They did however give me strict rules of what and what NOT to do. I flew home the following day. Since then I have been in contact with Dr. Path regularly regarding questions and concerns about my HT, he is quick to respond at any questions, concerns and worries. He encourages me to keep in touch. Most of the transplanted hairs didn't really even fall out... they stayed in and the denisty and coverage at this early stage is amazing. As for the scar... at three months, I can't even see it. No one else can see it either. In my all honestly... UNDETECTABLE I am getting compliments from co-workers and friends all the time on how great it looks. I am going back to Canada on Tuesday to visit my family for two weeks, I haven't seen them in over a year... I can't wait to show them. They know I had a HT, but I haven't shown them pictures yet. GO TO THIS DR.! His medical services are better than any other I have expeienced... and I have been to many different clinics for consulations. I would be very, very pleased to see him recommended on this site. This site is such an excellent source for anything related to hairloss... from Dr. reviews to drugs. Excellent.
  3. Just hit the three month mark post HT... it was all frontal and is really starting to grow now... hair is still quite fine and short with lots more to grow, so you can still see the scalp. This is where I am a little worried... at three months should my scalp still be a purplish color. looking back in my photos the scalp is 10 times better than a month or two ago, but was just wondering how long before my scalp should return to its natural color. thanks for you tips.

  5. you might want to think about going international.... prices can be significantly less than in west, but the quality can defintitely be the same with the right dr. I had an excellent HT done in Thailand as I am currently living in asia... you can also get a pretty amazing vaction out of the experience as well.
  6. I went on propecia and rogain three months ago. Shedding was absolutely disgusting...handful some days... tons of hair was falling out in the morning and at night. I stayed with the products and it has finally subsided and significantly decreased. The wait is hard though. Now I am starting to get growth again. Stay with the products. It will get better
  7. I didnt shed for the first couple of weeks.... THEN BOOM... I was losing hair by the bucket fulls. It sucked and was devistating... like losing more than 200+ hair in the morning some days. I stuck with it and the shedding has now begun to subside and it's getting less adn less. It's been about two months now. My hair got significaltly thinner, but now it is getting thicker and stronger. If your hair stays in, your lucky, if it sheds out, don't worry IT should start coming back after a couple months. proscar everyday 3 months minoxidil 2 months HT almost two months...fronal 2377 grafts
  8. Check out Dr. Damkerng Pathomnivich He is excellent and in Bangkok
  9. Greekman, I am approaching 1.5 - 2 months minoxidil 2.5 - 3 months proscar In the beginning I shed a DISTURBING AMOUT, my hair had never been so thin, fine and weak... I without doubt went further back with the hair loss as a result of these two drugs.... One day I alost broke down cause I had just had a HT in the frontal region, and shortly after, the drug kicked in and my hair wouldn't stop thinning out EVERYWHERE!! HOWEVER... The shedding has come down dramatically over the past couple of weeks, and I feel as though it is stablizing... I am still shedding though, I am beginning to notice a lot of new growth in the crown, and I think the top of my head where I was thinning out the worst on these meds, has begun to reverse and new growth might be coming in. HANG IN THERE! I almost quit, but stuck with it and am going to continue to stick with it. Give the drugs a change... In my experience, my hair got a lot worse, but it is now getting better. keep me updated
  10. I had a hair transplant in Bangkok a month ago. It was less expensive than if I were to go to Canada or the US. I am actually a Canadian, but I am currently living in Asia. I believe that I went to an absolutely amazing doctor who comes in high regards internationally. I had to book three months in advace, as he has a very good reputation. I am only a month into HT, but I am thrilled with the results that I have had to this point. I went to Dr. Damerkerng Pathomivich check him out. He is mentioned on forums with great feedback, I also read in here that he was asked to join the coalition, but wanted to update his websites first. You should have a good experience with this Dr. I did.
  11. hey everyone.. perhaps someone can give me some advice... I had a hair transplant 3.5 weeks ago... all the frontal region. I have been wearing my bandana and hat constantly to hide the obvious and because the redness hasn't quite gone away. I had my hair cut, and my hairdresser wondered if my wearing a bandana all day could train the new hair to grow in like a cow lick, or train the hair to go in different directions... instead of just forward like it is suppose to. Does anyone have any ideas or advice on this... also note. I don't keep my bandana tight.. it's loose and comfortable. Thanks.

  13. Hey if someone could help me out, that would be great! I had a hair transplant 3.5 weeks ago... all to the frontal region. Since my surgery, I have been wearing a bandana everyday as the redness still hasn't completely subsided... and the hair transplant is quite obvious... I got my first hair cut today, and my hairdresser wondered if my wearing a bandana the whole time could train my hair to make a cow lick, or go in multiple directions... is this possible? Thanks
