  1. During my HT approximately 8 months ago, I noticed that one of the technicians working on the right side of my head used no magnifying glasses of any kind, while the one on the left did use magnifying glasses. So far, the growth on the right side of my head is clearly less dense than the left. I have also experienced shock loss, especially on the right side. Is it common or reasonable for the technicians to not use special eyeware? Thanks.

  3. I am about 6 months post HT (1920 grafts), and my donor area is still covered with many of the short original transplanted hairs. They do not appear to be growing, as they have remained at the current length for months. I was expecting that they would fall out by now as the new hairs pushed them out, but so far this is not happening. My head looks worse that before the surgery after you factor in the shock loss. I am starting to worry that the new growth may not happen. Has anyone else heard of others who have kept their short transplanted hairs for 6 months or more, and did they end up happy with the results? Help! Thank you.
  4. I am nearly 4 months post HT (1,920 grafts) and have kept approx. 80% - 90% of my grafts. These grafts are about 1/4" long and are not growing. No other new growth is visible either. Most people seem to lose their implanted hairs in the first 4 weeks. A few others have kept some or most of their implanted hairs and they have kept growing. I do not know why or how my hairs have stayed in for nearly 4 months if they are not growing. If the transplanted hairs go into a resting phase, do they always detach from the base? Is it possible that my transplanted hairs are resting but stil attached to the base? Can they suddenly start growing after 4 months? Did anyone out there go through this situation? I am starting to get nervous. Thanks.

  6. I have had three hair transplants with Bosley, the first two around 1999- 2001, and the most recent one about three months ago. I feel the results from my first two procedures were reasonable, certainly nothing like the horror stories cited by some other patients. After discovering this site after my third procedure, I wish I had done more investigation before going back to Bosley. I had nearly 2,000 grafts, and it seems that most have not shed or grown. I am a bit nervous that these initial results seem out of the norm, but all I can do is wait and hope. I don't doubt that Bosley has many unhappy customers, and that going to a "proven" doctor is better than taking a chance with a hair mill type firm like Bosley. However, I wonder whether Bosley has such a high number of people complaining about their results, at least in part, because Bosley has performed a much higher percentage of procedures relative to most other doctors. Also, happy Bosley customers may be less likely to report their results on the web because they were probably sucked in by Bosley's TV commercials and other traditional marketing strategies. I did research my Bosley doctor for my most recent procedure (Dr. Gossard at Bosley's Beverly Hills Office), and he appears to be a very experienced surgeon who had only performed HT procedures for the last eight years. That being said, I remain very apprehensive about the procedure. No results so far, but it is still early. I just wish I experienced normal shedding like most everyone else. At least then I would feel like everything has gone normally so far.
  7. I appreciate all the input to my original post. While I hear all the negative talk about Bosley (I feel bad for everyone who had poor results), any thoughts as to what Bosley is doing wrong? Like I mentioned, my doctor for my most recent procedure at Bosley (Dr. Gossard) is an experienced surgeon, and has been doing these HT procedures exclusively at Bosley for 8 years. Bosley appears to use most up to date FUE procedures. I had two previos procedures with Bosley in the past with no problems. The HT procedure does not seem terribly complicated for an experienced surgeon using the same methods as other doctors. What is it about Bosley that distinguishes them from other doctors?
  8. I am 10 weeks post-op with my third HT, all from Bosley. My first two were around 1999-2001, combined total of 2,000 grafts. My current HT was for 1,920 grafts. All three HT procedures were with different doctors at Bosley's Beverly Hills facility. If I had read all the anti-Bosley comments on this site before my third HT, I might have looked to another doctor. However, I guess went back to Bosley bwcause I had no real problems and was reasonably satisfied with the results. I am not sure why so many people are down on Bosley. In what specific areas is Bosley weak? My treatment at the facility was first class, they appear to use the most up to date procedures, and my doctor (Dr. Gossard) is an experienced surgeon who was formerly head of surgery at two hospitals. He has exclusively performed HT at Bosley for the last 8 years. The only area where I can see a difference with other well rated doctors is perhaps in the area of artistry. I will just have to wait and see how this third HT procedure turns out. I remain hopeful, but I have to admit all these negative comments about Bosley have me a little worried. Has anyone out there used Dr. Gossard at Bosley? Any comments about why some doctors are so much beter than others? Thanks.

  10. I am 9 weeks post HT, and I still have most of my graphs. I can't tell if they are still growing, seem pretty short. Should I be concerned? Is there anyone out there that has been through this and kept most of their graphs. Are you satisfied with the results? Thanks.
