  1. I am sorry if I am jumping in without going through the whole lot of the discussion on FUT vs FUE and most talking about benefits of FUE. let me share my thoughts about FUE and FUT. In fact if the person is less than or equal to type III and is in late 30's meaning the chances of progression to type V to VII in minimal. Then FUE alone is enough. As the donor area would support the harvest without actually thinning the donor area significantly. However, if the person is bound to reach stage V and more then the person will need both FUT and FUE to maximise the grafts without compromising the donor density less than the critical value. I presented this topic "Limitation of FUE in HT- are we removing more than desired". My theory is that there is a critical mass/no of grafts , if we reduce it beyond that number, we create a bigger problem then what we were trying to solve. I feel the donor density should not be reduced more than 35% of the donor density. The FUT reduce the width of the donor area and then minor readjustment because of stretch back of scar. With Age we get some reduction in hair numbers and also hair diameter . If we reduce the caliber of hair by 10 microns the overall impact can be as much as 36% as mentioned by Dr Cole. One has to remember that if we harvest more than 35% of the grafts from donor area in one surgery and then another 25%, we bring the patient donor area to 60% total reduction in thinness graph of baldness. Now if he looses 10% due to natural thinness with age he goes down to 30% and with reduction of caliber he becomes severely compromised donor density. So one has to understand the safe amount of harvest of FUE from donor area. This trend of doctors who are not getting trained in FUT due to non surgical training will be compelled to do FUE and then what you will see is what is happening in Turkey these days that non qualified people over harvesting the donor harvest. hope i am clear
  2. I am always there not only in clinic but when ever my patient call me directly i always take the call plus if i am busy for not taking the call i return the call. A text message or and email, I am always there for my patients
  3. Dear Friends Well, my protocol is like this. We have some associate doctors who work with me, so if you are booked for them I do not see you. If you are booked for me then first you get a consultation with our consultant and during that time if you want to meet me in person to just meet me and see me then I pop out of my work and meet you give you few minutes or address your concern. If oth the other hand you are booked oner the internet consultation and you are travelling only on the day of surgery then of course I meet you at the time of surgery, most of the time I do meet and greet and when I draw the hair line etc we can discuss if you like it or not. Then We mark the donor area and wait till your donor area is anaesthetised by the Nurse tech. I will come and then either do the strip harvest or the FUE harvest, but this is done only and only by myself. Once that is done, your recipient area is anaesthetised same way and then I will come and do the site making. In my opinion this is the most important aspect of the procedure, which will determine the naturalness of your hair growth and distribution of the grafts in the area which, is normally far more than the grafts available. SO as Doctors we try to create illusion of density with less number of grafts. Once the sites are made, the tech do the planting and I do pop in and out to check, although my techs are very experience. Then in end both verbal instructions are given and also written instructions are given to the patient. At any time if the patient wants to discuss any issue I am there to discuss. I hope this will help
  4. Dear Friends I am not a believer in one session job anyway and I agree with all of you that he would need a second session at least to cover the most area if not the full crown. My logic is, I do the strategic placing of grafts in second session and in that way i can give an illusion of more grafts with lesser grafts. The main aim is always to do lesser grafts and get better results. few years back i realised that my 5000 grafts session in two session was always better then my 5000 grafts in one session so, as oppose to other doctors and trent of one stop surgery I started to do two stop surgery and have never looked back. you can call it my limitation or others expertise but I see that I have to give best to the patients and I have pretty busy practise with no advertisement at all just word of mouth. I do appreciate your comments but my school of thought is different then others and my clients are quiet happy with their results. My main aim is always about naturalness and undetectable hair line and minimal visible scars plus maximum coverage with minimum grafts. kind regards
  5. Dear Saiqbala Thank you for posing your trust on me. However, the best thing is you must go and meet your previous doctor Dr Nasir Rasheed. Some times we(doctors) get this less than satisfactory results. I believe He, as your doctor would be in a good position to help you out. So the best is to contact him or his clinic where you got your treatment from. Regards

  7. Dear Members I always feel that my results in two sessions is better than my results in one session. That means if I place 5000 grafts in two session as oppose to 5000 grafts in one session, my results are 25% better, although I have not done any scientific study but this is my anecdotal finding. This, I believe, is due to the strategic placing of grafts that gives a better illusion. SO, the answer to your question is, YES he would need one more session at least to give a better coverage in terms of depth of the hair restoration and density. Generally, I feel i have better control on the results if I break the grafts in multiple sessions. Although as far as the price is concern it cost me more if i break, one every time we operate there is a cost involved, second on the second and third session all the patients invariably ask for more discount. My concern is not to earn money but to give the best possible results to my clients so that they are happy, this is what I do. May be some colleagues do not agree with me, but that is presently the secret of my success. I am not sure if I am doing it right or wrong but I am doing it...... and no regrets. regards
  8. Dear Aramis I am not sure how much the forum will understand the risks in hair transplant and the statistics of less then satisfactory outcome. generally anything around 98% is thought to be a great achievement, YES, it should be 100% but I really wonder how many of the doctors in the forum can claim to have 100% great results, at least I cannot and probably will never do, there is always reason either explainable or non-explainable for less than expected results. I have been with the forum for now almost since the inception of the forum and have posted numerous results and I am not sure but I have more than 2500 patients from UK and I feel you would have been also referred from one of them. of those 2500 patients I have almost 98 to 99% very happy patients and if you see my performance in ISHRS, I have presented so many lectures with best technique award and surgeon of the month etc. anyway, coming to your point, Shahid discussed every thing with you and He discussed the case with me and I want to encourage them to be active in the forum. What ever they say are sort of my words, having said this let me say NO doctor would ever like that his results are bad, we work hard but there are so many variables that can be effected in a surgery. I am not giving an excuse but All I am saying is we always try our best. Now your request of refund, The policy that we hold is, we always give a complimentary surgery for less than 50% of the outcome, the reason is, there is always some profit in one procedure and all we do is change that profit into overheads and compensate the patient. What I told Shahid is to make you an exception and would refund the profit part of the surgery in terms of cash or will do a full fledge complimentary surgery with a couple of days stay included. I would leave this to you to choose between the two and I hope that this will to some extent address your concern though as a patient and doctor myself, I know nothing in world can be enough for the disappointment of the results. If the forum wants, I know my capabilities and I know with a given number of grafts and baldness there aren't many doctors who can give as much an illusion as I can..... I take pride in my work and I will always be there for my patients in every way. once again, sorry for not coming up to your satisfaction
  9. It does look good but if you really ask me, one has to compare true before and after. the before pictures are fully shaved and the post are with hair so cant be the true comparison, having said that it is looking nice. 4700 grafts is good number for this.
  10. where did i say i distance myself. I told you why it happen and who are more susceptible to this problem. I also know how it is avoided but every now and then this happens and I am taking the full responsibility of this. What I can do and did offer you as well was that you come back to our clinic and as we also do lasers we will try to improve all this for you with resurfacing and that will be free of cost. I hope you will be happy but please do not pass sweeping statements regards Humayun
  11. Dear Amin (Attockbay7) What has happened to you is not a bad result but these are the raised ends of the hair follicles. Usually when the grafts are placed we use to place initially slightly above the skin surface and the graft would sink in the skin later. But it was a bit later that we started what we sat is sub dermal graft placing to avoid this issue. This is a rare problem but more common in asian origin due to the thicker caliber of hair root. The usual remedy is to do a laser resurfacing to reduce this raised areas of the visible skin. I hope this answer your concern. Humayun
  12. sorry for late reply, actually i was very busy with the elections in Pakistan. I lost the trace of your previous email. If you can send me that it will be helpful and I will answer. Although in some of the asian with thicker hair we can find this problem. I am not sure about the history but it seems that there were two surgeries and you seem to have two different types of grafts. so can you please tell send me the email with name date of surgery and a bit of history as well, I will make sure to reply ASAP.
