  1. Great answer, thanks Gatsby. I've been excited for your progress also. Been on Finasteride for two years now I think, 1mg a day. Have their been reports of others that take this yet hair loss continues over 10 years? As you say, being young you want your hair to be as perfect as possible when you're in a room full of people the same age with zero MPB.
  2. I think you're both getting the wrong impression of my intentions. A discussion is meant to be argument / counter argument, nothing is personal and I'm only asking questions for the answers. That's all. It's an important read for anyone who has these questions and stumble upon this thread.
  3. Thanks, my biggest worry was damaging existing grafts. I'm only 26 years old you see. Might be considering SMP to improve density but I'm unsure how natural that will look.
  4. With respect, I've never seen Minoxidil pills priced that cheap. It's always around £10 for two strips. It's a medication for hypertension, something doesn't sit well with me. I'm not convinced of it compared to foam or serums.
  5. It's the weak hairs being pushed out to make way for fuller hairs. The only thing I don't like about Minoxidil is that you have to stick with it for life.
  6. Finasteride was developed to help enlarged prostates. The fact that it caused hair loss to halt was nothing but a side effect. The science behind it makes sense too; it's a DHT blocker. DHT is what causes hair loss. Without question it's an important hairloss medication.
  7. Hi, on Finasteride yes. Thinking of taking a leap and trying SMP for density.
  8. Hi everyone, hope you all are enjoying your evening. I'm close to eight months P.O at the moment from a transplant on my hairline, I'm not happy with the density. I understand that it may be too soon to judge but to be honest I do not think any more hairs will sprout. I simply can't get away with my hair in the sun, it ends up looking way too thin. How safe is a second transplant on a previously transplanted area? Could this cause damage to follicles from the first transplant? Any ballpark number of grafts in mind to increase density on my hairline? Thanks. s
  9. But what is the science behind it? How can a pill variant of a topical promote growth in the scalp area? I thought this too, there are some solid results online from people who do apply it on the crown. But nothing ground breaking. It doesn't make sense how pill form will affect the balding area.
  10. Hi, Thought to open a discussion thread in regards to taking Minoxidil in pill form. As we know, Minoxidil typically comes as a foam or serum. As of recent years more and more suppliers are offering Minoxidil as a pill. What Minoxidil does is promotes blood flow to the area it is applied, so how on earth would oral Minoxidil have any affect preventing future hair loss? Hope someone could clear this up once and for all.
  11. Thanks. Would you say it would be safe to do so at 7 months or should I wait it out a bit longer before going crazy with color sprays?
  12. Hi. I'm a fan of using hair colour sprays prior to my operation. I was wondering what your thoughts are as to wither coloured hairspray is safe to use on transplanted hair or is it a health risk to it? Currently 7 months OP. Thanks!
  13. When I was a kid, I also had that little swirl. Heck even as a toddler. Nothing to worry about.
  14. First month, third month, 6th month. Make sure it's only the needle and not a dermapen. Honestly though PRP seems like a waste of money, it may help your redness fade quicker though.
  15. I was never more anxious than I was at the ugly duckling phase, truly the worst part of the transplant is the waiting game!
  16. Well, I personally had 3500 grafts and my hair prior to surgery looks quite similar to yours, feel free to check out my log thread for reference and post operation images. For SMP you're talking like £1500 for the back/sides and another £1500 for the top if you're wanting to add density. What matters the most is how many grafts a doctor can place per square centimetre.
  17. Hi again, here is the seven month update! As mentioned in the six month update, lighting is a huge factor to the result. When I'm in more direct light (ie. sunlight, near a window); it looks a whole lot thinner. However, when moving away into the middle of a naturally lit room, it looks a whole lot better. One thing worth mentioning is that I was seeing 20-30 hairs fall our each day this month! I don't know if it's a seasonal shed but it certainly made me worried all month. It doesn't seem to have made a visual change in regards to the density, would love to know your thoughts. No hair product for reference. 7 Months Post Operation: Kinder lighting; Even kinder lighting; Kindest lighting;
  18. You can also use WesternUnion as an alternative. It lets you send any currency directly to a bank account.
  19. I used a 1mm dermapen one month after a transplant, luckily it had no negative affect. (Though finding out that I shouldn't have gave me worries for a long time) The important thing with microneedling is that you space out when you use it as well as take care of the rollers cleanliness.
  20. I wonder what it is with the UK and lacking decent transplant doctors? It seems we have very few trustworthy options here.~ Very sorry to hear about your experience. Hope you win the legal proceedings if you take that path. SMP works wonders on FUE scars, I have faith you'll be happy with the results.
