  1. Looking good, some hair falls out with the scabs but it's normal; the follicle is still there. I'm sure you're aware that all of those hairs are going to fall out in the next few weeks to grow back.
  2. Hi, Just be cautious with getting a hair transplant while on vacation. For example; you're not allowed to have your scalp exposed to the sun during the healing process, you're not even allowed to sweat for the first few days.
  3. Hi, I've been on this forum for around six months now and noticed that there is only one moderator for the whole forum who is also the administrator. I'd like to vouch the proposition to have additional moderators to help take care of the forum. Two members I believe would make perfect moderators are; @Gatsby & @gillenator. They're both already very active, mature & very resourceful. I'm sure the extra help will make life easier for Melvin, just food for thought. Thanks Reference; I've ran an active forum in the past and found additional help to be very beneficial to the forums overall health.
  4. Hello again, as requested. Please keep in mind what month I'm one and that I got nothing done to my crown area;
  5. No finasteride? If you get a hair transplant and not plan to take medication afterwards, it's going to be a downward spiral. Have you tried Finasteride in the past? Do you indeed experience the side effects? I've been on them for a year and no side effects personally. If you're indeed one of the rare people who have said side effects, there is also a topical version of finasteride which does not affect any other part of the body.
  6. Glad you're taking medicine sir. You're catching your hair loss quite early! I tried a hair piece when I was 22, it made me more self conscious than without it. They're an absolute nightmare to take care of. I now absolutely hate glue. Despite what a lot of people say, I don't think hair pieces are good for your scalp AT ALL. 25 now and got my first hair transplant in 2021, it's brought back my hairline, quite happy. Several hair transplant doctors will turn you away if you're under the age of 24. You should wait a bit longer and see what the medication does to you. If you don't see any more hair loss, it's doing its job.
  7. SMP apparently goes a long way with a crown transplant!
  8. Sure thing, I'll try to get an image on Friday morning. No grafts were planted in the crown, only the front hairline sir.
  9. Hi! I'm at 6 months post operation. I noticed the hair near my crown has thinned more than it used to look (been taking finasteride every day for over a year). Is this shock loss? Can it still happen months after operation? Here is 9 weeks post operation; And here is 6 months post operation;
  10. Hi, I'll try to take some images tomorrow in the sun; it's been raining this week so here's hoping. Excited for you to start in September, that's when I went last year!
  11. Hi, nice to hear from you. I don't believe hair fibers would work on the frontal area; it's more so for masking the crown. SMP is kinda like permanent hair fibres that hide your scalp, not sure if SMP can look natural on the front area either. I suppose on sunny days we can have our hair "down" hiding the hairline (depending on how well your crown area is)? Have you begun your hair transplant journey?
  12. By beauty saloon I mean learning to work with needles.etc (ie. lip fillers, face fillers, derma pens, all those basic facial modification techniques). Cosmetic work that gives you the training to be considered a cosmetic nursing assistant.
  13. Thank you! Just added a side by side comparison in regards to lighting. Do you also experience similar issues depending on the environment you're in?
  14. You probably have to be a trainee at a beauty saloon for a little bit first for portfolio, then apply for training with a clinic that is taking in trainees.
  15. All normal man. They're meant to be completely gone by the second week I think.
  16. Hey guys, hope you are doing well. At my clinic I was given this big goofy 'fisherman-like' hat that I was allowed to wear from the second day onwards. It was used to protect from the sun.etc. As long as your hat is not TIGHT, you should be safe. I was wearing my own hat after the first month mark. Going to throw in a confession; When returning back from Turkey, I was not allowed into my country until 10 days (due to covid laws), so I had to stay in the neighbouring country. About one week after the surgery, I went shoulder deep into the ocean at the beach! This is something you're obviously not meant to do, but I didn't have any complications from it. Just food for thought, feel free to check out my hair transplant thread, I'm on month 6 now.
  17. Thank you, I have thin hair and have already done 3900 grafts! (eep). Any more might be too much. Fives years might be acceptable depending on price, thank you for the reference. Did you find an alternative for yourself?
  18. Thank you for the response! I've used toppik in the past, hoping for something a little more permanent, even if it is for three years. Does it disappear completely or leave a slight tint? Rogaine gives me an allergic reaction unfortunately.
  19. Hey everyone, hope you all are doing well! I am considering getting micro pigmentation for my crown area. Currently on finasteride (for over a year now!), no new growth but no real hair loss. Do you think it's a good idea or if I'm a good candidate? (Had a FUE hair transplant on my hairline last September) Thanks!
  20. SIX MONTHS! I am so happy to be at the 6th month mark, it's a milestone I've been looking forward to documenting. I have a lot to say regarding the results, but I'll try to keep it brief & to the point. LIGHTING MATTERS. Prior to going to surgery, I watch a lot of youtubers who got hair transplants and followed their journey. By the six month mark, a lot of creators looked as if they had a very THICK & DENSE hairline compared to mine. However, I noticed that this was always with indoor lighting and not outdoor. Upon further inspection of the youtubers, you can see that the sun is an enemy to anyone with a hair transplant. It causes hair to look much thinner. I've been taking photos right at an outdoor window for the worse case light to see the worse case scenario. I'm mixed with how I feel about my results since I came into this seeing all these youtubers with certain lighting situations. My transplant appears to be where it needs to be! It's not as dense as I hoped for, but that's delusional thinking. I'll include samples facing my window as usual, then turning away from it so you can see how much lighting affects the result. (Apologies, just out of the shower so my face is a bit dry) 6 Months Post Operation: (Away from window) (Mixed / Half way between window) (Side by side sample as to why lighting matters; these images are in the same room, same day, same minute, just slightly different lighting/angle)
  21. Thanks, I thought so too in regards to the hairline, it surely would look-.. odd.
