  1. Yes it has been asked 100s of times, top search result is below. No birth defect problems as long as the woman doesn't actually handle the pills herself. Which she should have no reason to. Just a general piece of advice, don't use idiotic websites like Reddit for anything more than mindless entertainment. l
  2. Stick around, you'll see guys reporting it causing everything under the sun at one point or another. Some actually believe it incorrectly, others just come here to spread fear and paranoia because they're too afraid to take it themselves and hate the feeling of being left behind knowing that other guys are taking it and benefiting. Its hard for some to accept, but around the time hair starts noticeably falling out is also around the time our bodies start falling apart from natural aging and bad lifestyle habits. Its far better to go to your doctor and actually get to the bottom of everything with examinations and diagnostic blood test work by a medical professional. Rather than experimenting and speculating on a hairloss forum of amateurs, which is going to end up doing little more than causing unnecessary stress and paranoia for you and others.
  3. Time is an even more critical factor when the hair loss is aggressive at a very young age. There's a big difference between a middle-aged NW7 man that has been losing hair for a few decades with a stable donor area, and a young guy that's finished puberty not even a decade ago with an already aggressive hair loss pattern that might end up even worse than a NW7, where he ends up with significant thinning even in the donor area as well.
  4. You're on the way to being a NW 5a at least. The big question is how much of your remaining hair follicles are still vulnerable to DHT. And unfortunately there's no way to know that for certain. The hair that is thinning and already gone was clearly the most vulnerable. But depending on how genetically sensitive the rest are, it could take another 10,20, or 30 years for your other hairs to more gradually thin and disappear. And you will still be a relatively young/middle-aged guy with years, if not decades, of living with the consequences of what you decide now. If this was my head at this very young age, I'd resign myself to letting nature run its course and just shave it off. If you want to still hold out hope, stay on finasteride or start dutasteride, and still shave your head for the next 5, or better, 10 years. And keep a regular picture record, every 6 months or a year. Where you let it grow out for a few days or up to week, and take photos at the same angles, lighting to help track your progress, if any.
  5. Despite the finasteride you've been continuing to lose pretty dramatically, and you're still very young. I wouldn't consider any hair transplants until you stabilize your loss, and that may not be possible. Maybe dutasteride can succeed in doing that, since finasteride doesn't appear to be enough. But even under optimal conditions, assuming you start dutasteride and that halts your loss, I'd recommend waiting at least until you have a few years of the loss not getting worse before considering a hair transplant. You don't want to start cutting into your head moving hairs around with a transplant, which will create scars all over the back and side areas, and then continue losing hair around and behind the transplanted hairs on top. That's going to create a whole other level of problems, where you are not just trying to hide the hair loss, but also trying to hide the transplant scars and un-natural hair density patterns on the top of your head.
  6. God and the Yankees by my last count. Which makes him one helluva Canadian-American! Got me thinking of that scene in the Good-Bad-Ugly where Tuco shouts to the approaching army "God is on our side because he hates the Yankees!" Then the soldiers get close and brush off the desert dust from their uniforms showing they are actually union not confederate. Then Clint quips that god isn't with us because he hates idiots.
  7. I have seborrheic dermatitis too. It doesn't cause permanent hair loss, of course, but when it does flare up, and especially if you are actually scratching the areas, it can cause the hairs to prematurely shed. Similarly I do healthy diet and been taking a skin/hair/nail supplement for years that was prescribed by my dermatologist. "Natural" dht blockers, like caffeine or saw palmetto, are only going to block a very minor amount of DHT. No where near enough to halt even modest loss. If you're going to address DHT in a meaningful way, unfortunately the only way to do that is still the 'unnatural' way with medications like Finasteride. I 'rotate' shampoos, along with nizoral that contains ketoconazole. Other shampoos that help contain selenium sulfide, salicyclic acid, or pyrithione zinc. This H&S with selenium sulfide is my personal favorite, very cooling and calming. You can get it in stores or on amazon. My doctor told me its better to attack the condition with a mix of shampoos, so that your body/condition doesn't make adaptions that reduce how well the symptoms can be managed.
  8. The picture labeled "Today" does look better. Have you been trying to do something to improve your hair situation? like medications or a hair transplant procedure?
  9. First time procedure hesitation is something alot of us go through. You're on the right path, maximizing the odds in your favor with good research, doctor selection. Stay positive, trust the process, and accept your conviction that hanging on to your hair is important and justified for living your life the way you want to. Alot of guys either wait too long and miss the chance for getting the best overall outcome, or worse, do nothing and suffering in silence.
  10. If finasteride has halted your loss for now, you've got enough left to make hair fibers like toppik work for as long as you want to bother applying it each day. SMP can also work, basically like the hair fibers but you don't need to apply it daily, just get it 'touched up,' maybe every 2 or 3 years, possibly up to 5 years depending on how quickly your body breaks down the ink, and how well you keep the skin moisturized and out of the sun/protected with sun screen. If you go this route, also be aware that down the road you made need to still get an occasional hair transplant into the crown area if your hair does eventually thin some more. The guy in the topic below has had hair transplants and he is using SMP in his crown area.
  11. LOL, that poster is probably another one of the little anti-finasteride crowd. They lurk around and create or bump old topics to help stoke fear and paranoia about taking finasteride.
  12. Why do you create new accounts to dig up old topics?
  13. I've been shaving my head since the lockdown, but back when I was using hair fibers I would style with the fibers in, even after applying some hair spray, run my fingers back through it, maybe comb it some more, to help shake off some excessive fibers, spray it one more time. You just don't want to apply and leave too much hair fiber in because it can make the hair look dull, and more easy to detect.
  14. Thats impressive, and you still have months to go. Bold move overall, congrats.
  15. Nice find, and here's the link to Walmart's FAQ for their membership cost and benefits. https://www.walmart.com/plus/faq/walmart-plus-membership-plans
  16. Derek from "More Plates More Dates" is a reputable guy on topics like hair loss, posting one of his video links and what he uses below. He does it at 1.5mm, a bit extreme IMO. But the machine he uses can be adjusted down to the range you want as well. Based on your forum name, do you live in Greece or are you just from there? The link below is for customers in Europe with the power outlet designed for their electrical grid format. If you are in Greece based on the shipping options looks like you'll need to have it delivered somewhere else and then forwarded to you.
  17. Of all the replies, I think this one here is the closest to the mark. If Jake joined the forum his current hair would rank him at about 1,300,000th among the current membership. And he'd probably be asking about some Turkey flavored hairmills he saw on instagram! Just shave it bro.
  18. Stopping minoxidil is legit because it can cause excessive bleeding during surgery. There is no reason to stop finasteride before surgery. If this clinic is asking you to stop finasteride that's a red flag. Be careful, make sure you are going to a clinic with a trustworthy reputation and proven results here on the forum. Don't just rely on instagram or other website reviews.
  19. I'm not affiliated with these guys at all, but I'm a bit of a germaphobe in general and I've been using them since the pandemic lockdown to avoid hospitals. Quick and easy, just pick your tests, pay online, select the lab closest to you, print the lab form or send it to the lab from the website, go get your blood drawn, and wait 24-72 hours for the results. They have a test search box in the top right and on the left side you can also look through test categories. Or you can also call them at their number in the top right too, probably the easiest. Some of what you posted was a quick easy search but some of the other might be grouped into another test. https://www.healthlabs.com/why-choose-healthlabs And if you don't want the whole STD panel here https://www.healthlabs.com/comprehensive-10-test-std-testing you can just get the individual tests you need here https://www.stdcheck.com/std-test-pricing.php
  20. Put a loose fitting shirt on, and then pull your arms back through the sleeves and keep them at your side while you sleep. You won't be able to reach your head unless you somehow manage to sleepwalk your arms back up your sides and out your shirt sleeves. Almost if not certainly impossible.
  21. If you have pain in your testicle area for a prolonged period, whether taking finasteride or not, you should be going to a doctor and making sure its not something serious. Many things can cause that and they're completely unrelated to finasteride, like cancer, STDs, kidney stones, etc https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/symptoms/16292-testicular-pain
  22. Easiest way is to use one of the online mail delivery subscription services. I use one in the US called Keeps. There's a few other popular ones, one of them services the UK too at the link below. Just fill out an online medical survey about your current health and submit some photos of your hair situation. They'll assign one of their doctors to review it and within a few days you'll know if you're approved. https://hair.forhims.co.uk/our-treatments/
  23. It won't be dependent like it is with finasteride. Minoxidil is just a growth enhancer, it doesn't address the underlying causes of hair loss. The worse you'll get are temporary sheds when you start and stop. And depending on how many borderline hairs you have that are about to go bye-bye even with finasteride, minoxidil can help those hairs be visible for a bit longer. It can be an annoyance to apply daily, but even if you don't decide to apply it for the rest of your life, the synchronization changes it does when you start and stop might be enough to get more of your hairs to stay in sync.
  24. Don't see anywhere in your posts about being on minoxidil yet. One of the ways it works is by extending your hair growth cycle so you have more hairs growing at the same time, giving you a thicker overall look. You may get an initial shed, but it will just be temporary as the hairs reset for the new growth cycle. It could minimize the issue enough that its no longer noticeable, or at least less noticeable.
  25. Some people take longer for hair transplant redness to fade. The lighter, more fair-skinned you are it can end up taking longer. Six months is longer than usual, but not unheard of. Like has been said, start applying some aloe gel, and something like the over-the-counter scar fading creams like this Mederma stuff below. You can find it at local stores or on Amazon. I'd give it a few more months before reaching out to a doctor for something more aggressive.
