  1. Coming back with one more thing to add. When fraudulent topics like this are discovered it would be good to either delete or 'brand' them by adding "Fraud, Fake," etc to the front of the inflammatory subject title. Leaving the topics viewable, even just the subject titles, still helps these people achieve their warped goal of fear mongering. They want to give an inflated sense of the numbers of people effected and symptom ranges so that guys are too scared to even consider the medications. And thanks again @Melvin- Moderator for the extra diligence and action!
  2. Noticed you couldn't help drop that web address as you make your denial, confirming my suspicion. If anyone is having issues with depression they should be consulting with medical professionals in all medical things, both mentally and physically. And considering how much garbage and misinformation there is online, even mentally healthy people would be wise to not use the internet for medical advice and recommendations. There are any number of lifestyle habits, dietary habits, non-hairloss medications, to just plain getting older and the body starting to break down, that can cause the same issues that a small minority of people report having with finasteride. And almost everybody on this forum is just an everyday guy with no medical training, no accountability, and no liability to discourage them from giving out incorrect, unverified, even false information. It might be hard for someone depressed to understand, but they deserve better than that.
  3. Nice to see "two", "new" members joining the forum the same day, hours apart, starting and maintaining most of the back and forth in this conversation. How hard it must be for the fringe anti-finasteride crowd to be patient enough to create convincing scenarios for freaking guys out about taking finasteride.
  4. Try not to let travel play too big a role in your decision. It can make getting the initial foundational sessions (usually two or three) a bit more of hassle because they need to be separated by up to a week or two for healing. But after that the touchup sessions will be up to years apart, and only one session per touchup. Prioritizing the best result from the most skilled person is the most important, because having people staring at your head for the rest of your life is a hassle and then some. I can't vouch for anybody in the Atlanta area, you can use this first weblink below for some leads. Its run by some people that help SMP artists with getting training and doing their marketing. They also have general education content for customers wanting to get SMP done, including a recommended clinic list by country/city. We also have some top artists that post on here, I've linked their websites below. They also post their results in this section of the forum if you look around. Good luck! https://www.teammicro.com/smp/clinics/ Near NYC @hairthere https://www.aheadink.com/ Near Toronto @EnhancedScalp https://enhancedscalp.com/
  5. These snapshots that Melvin has been posting are convincing me it was a stunt. I'll bet when Will was sitting back down and yelling at him he was drawing on some actual anger he'd been harboring from their previous feuding. The lows just keep getting lower, pretending to commit actual violent crimes for ratings. While people whip up social media mobs pretending to be outraged and devastated by anything and everything, down to the smallest verbal "micro-aggressions." Have to say if I was a young man again considering whether to join the military, I'd say no seeing how things have been trending for the past 15 yrs. Let it all collapse if these are the things people end up doing with freedom.
  6. Yea point made, we don't need free speech anymore.
  7. I don't know if the triple post was a publicity stunt of your own But yea that pic is definitely incriminating. What a couple of morons. They ought to have to serve the jail time for the first 10 idiots that actually try to slap someone on stage.
  8. Apparently these two have a feud-like history based on previous times Chris has made jokes about Jada over the years. Maybe they did actually bury the hatchet and get beyond it enough to milk it for a publicity stunt like this. Its one thing to pretend doing consensual or accidental sex-related acts. Faking intentional assault is just too far. I still lean more towards it being real, him getting away with it because it didn't happen to escalate past the slap.
  9. This video has an interesting take by a plastic surgeon that does hair transplants too. He said it looks like the scar on the top of her head was from a previous eye brow lift procedure. As her loss from the traction alopecia progress and she shaved her head, she may have forgotten about it.
  10. This was real, but even if it was staged what it actually does is help to normalize physically assaulting someone for what they say. And it was really a punk move going no further than a slap, knowing that's the limit of what's socially acceptable --*for women.* Chris Rock should press charges, one punk move deserves another. ----- Oscar presenter Chris Rock has declined to file a police report over actor Will Smith’s slap during the live broadcast of the Academy Awards ceremony, the department said in a release Sunday night. “If the party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report,” the statement said.
  11. I'm in the USA too and I get it by mail delivery subscription along with finasteride through keeps.com When you subscribe they have you fill out a medical questionnaire online and submit pictures of your hair situation. Then they assign you one of their doctors that handles the script process to get the medications, you don't have to actually go see a doctor in person. https://www.keeps.com/our-offering
  12. I agree about the duplicate accounts, and the 'new' accounts that try to stoke paranoia around hairloss medication are annoying too. On the repeat questions, along with being too lazy or unaware of searching, I think alot of it is worried guys that just want to be assured by hearing the answer directly and now. There's some validity to the engagement/interaction point made by @Rahal Hair Transplant too. Maybe some progress can be made by adding an automated search that runs when they submit their new topic. It would suggest existing discussions that match the proposed topic title and content. Then they would have to scroll go down past those search matches and click the button to go ahead and still post their new thread. And its still a good idea to go back and delete some of the duplicate topics, to optimize forum search and performance in general.
  13. Scarring tissue is tricky, no guarantees. You can try to do some kenalog injections from a doctor to flatten the scar tissue out some more, that may help it to retain the ink better. You could also try to transplant some hairs by FUE into the scar, but the hairs might not be able to root through the scar tissue, kenalog injections before the procedure might help with this too. The most invasive would be to try to get the scar revised, re-cutting and closing. You could try to have some hairs FUE'd into it during that revision, then maybe some more in about a year after its finished healing. Maybe revisit getting some SMP if none or only some of the hairs successfully root. Good luck!
  14. 2 months post op is more than enough recovery time, you could have started or restarted minox and ketoconazole within 2 weeks as long as you were healing normally. Just be aware if your scalp is already very dry, both of those could make that worse. Get that dryness under control first, you can try some over the counter shampoos and scalp moisturizers, but if its not getting better within a month or so, go see a dermatologist to make sure you getting the underlying causes addressed properly. When your scalp skin is back in good shape, for the minoxidil start with the foam formula version, its less drying/irritating. And for the ketoconazole, if you have a dandruff/seborrheic dermatitis issue it can definitely be helpful. If you are just using it to try to hold on to more of your hair, it might not be worth the extra skin irritation, as its a very minor dht blocker and is not going to have a big effect on your hair loss. You'd want to use finasteride for that.
  15. I've found that a 4 guard is the best coverage from all viewing angles right after a haircut for me. A 3 guard looks good too from the overhead to eye-level viewer angles. But I notice when holding an extra mirror lower and looking upwards, seeing what a shorter person standing behind me would see, the scars can be seen a bit. In general that upward view angle from below is going to be the weakest point for all of us because we don't get the benefit of the extra concealment from the downward angle that hair grows at back there. This is one scenario where its a benefit to be the shortest guy in the room.
  16. I think the point of the instruction for using warm water is to make sure you don't use water that is too HOT. Water that is too hot can irritate or burn the skin, and remove the natural moisture and oils that help keep your skin calm and healthy.
  17. This guy has been doing minoxidil, finasteride, prp and he's still losing. Maybe he's getting close to losing all he's ever going to lose, but there's no way to know that especially at this very young age. Melvin said there's no point in a HT if the hair loss hasn't stabilized. The only ways its going to stabilize is by giving it time to play out, which this guy doesn't want to do, or responding well to medications, which this guy hasn't. And as far as realistic expectation go, this guy has already posted that he just wants to look young while he's still young, so that's missing from this scenario as well.
  18. If you were just talking to yourself, then sure its fine to only focus on what you need. But you're on a forum here talking with others, and someone in their 50s dropping f-bombs and wishing death on others because he's shedding some hair is quite funny and serious at the same time. I have confidence you'll eventually see that yourself as well. Best of luck getting your testosterone levels straightened out, because that is the more important thing in the long run. And hopefully that hair starts growing back sooner than later.
  19. Based on your replies your testosterone level seem to also go up when you engage on the forum. Sound like you're about 21 now. Its cool, you can vent a little given the circumstances. That poster above me, Melvin the forum moderator, didn't actually say that he thought the loss was permanent. He just asked if you were on a DHT blocker, which would help to minimize any loss that was being caused by DHT. The TE in "TE hair loss" is just an abbreviation for Telogen Effluvium. Which is what it sounds like in your situation, just being a matter of weeks starting and stopping the medication. The temporary shedding could go on for a few months and should start growing back within 6 months. Did a search on that medication, looks like you are one of the 1% with the hair loss. Just give it some time. The following adverse events have been reported in fewer than 1% of patients in clinical trials: Acute abdomen, appetite increase, constipation, dermatitis or rash, depression, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, hair loss/dry hair, increased urinary frequency/volume, insomnia, light-headedness, nervous tension, vaginal dryness, vertigo, weight gain/loss. https://www.rxlist.com/clomid-side-effects-drug-center.htm#consumer
  20. Judging by his previous post, questions like that might get you on his to-die-list. To be serious, this does suck especially if his doctor didn't give him a headsup that hormone tinkering like this can trigger temporary sheds. Which is all it sounds like given how quickly its come on. The best way forward, if you have unhealthy testosterone levels, is to stick with the therapy and ride out the hair shedding, wear a hat when you can.
  21. Sounds like telogen effluvium triggered by your testosterone therapy increase. You can read more about it at the link below. Long term, you may want to discuss with your doctor how much higher to increase your testosterone to maximize your overall health while also trying to minimize the potential for hair loss. If your hair follicles are genetically programmed to be sensitive to DHT, having higher testosterone means more of it is going to get converted to DHT, which is the primary cause of male pattern baldness. And that kind of hair loss is permanent. Experiencing a sudden change in hormone levels can trigger TE hair loss. Similar to an environmental change, hormone fluctuation can cause hair follicles to go into a prolonged resting state. If TE occurs during pregnancy, hair growth is usually restored within six months to a year after childbirth. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/321590#outlook
  22. Yea that can be done, and it will need to be 'touched up' at least every few years to offset fading. Scar tissue doesn't retain ink as well and for as long as normal skin tissue. Sometimes depending on the scarring and how quickly your unique immune system breaks down the ink, the time between refreshes can be so short that its not worth it. Especially if you have to travel a good distance to get it done.
  23. That's not correct, ALL types of FUE and FUT hair transplants leave scarring. And since scar tissue has less pigmentation than normal skin, making it whiter/lighter in appearance, they are more visible on people with darker skin shades.
  24. I've found with hair fibers, and with dermmatch, unless you happen to be a spot-on match for the existing colors, its better to go a little darker. My hair was a lighter brown, but the medium brown fibers looked the best. The darker coloring absorbs more light, less reflecting of it. Its easier to detect that you are using something when people notice the different ways the light is reflecting off your native hair compared with the hairs that are coated with fibers. At 2 months depending on how non-grey you want to go, the options are some combination of dyeing the hair, fibers, dermmatch. The dermmatch may even be enough so that you don't need to dye the hair. And when you find a combination that looks good in the mirror with indoor lighting, don't forgot to check again in more harsh lighting, including going outside and take some pictures or looks in the mirror there too. When I was getting the hang of applying the concealers it really surprised me how good an application can look indoors under nice lighting, but then look totally obvious that I was using something when I stood under brighter lights or went outdoors.
  25. About shaving your head after having a hair transplant, try to think carefully about that. If that's what you end up doing it will look weird with scarring on the back/sides of your head where they extracted the hairs. And depending on how well your body heals and the skill of your doctor, you might have weird looking issues on the top and front of your head too, like cobblestoning, ridging, etc. In 10 or 15 years your only going to be about 35 or 40.That's alooot of life left to live with a weird looking head. I'm 45 and I still don't notice much difference in how good I feel, being healthy, when compared to how I felt in my 20s. Again, try to think long term. It's going to surprise you how healthy and well you still feel, and how much you will still care about how you look, as you mature into your 30s, 40s, 50s, even 60s. Once you start cutting into your head there's no going back to a virgin, natural looking scalp.
