I have had 2 FUTs and will get maybe 1 more FUT and then FUEs or go straight to FUEs. @Dr Blake Bloxham is very good at both FUE and FUT and is a standup guy. You're in good hands with him.

First, get a consultation. You should be on meds to prevent or slow down further hair loss. Where are you located @Foxface? Your donor area looks good and the characteristics of your hair render them good for the illusion of density.. As others have said, focus on the frontal part first. I think a well moderated forum is vital to providing patients accurate information and to holding surgeons accountable. Surgeons benefit from positive publicity and patients benefit from truthful reviews. It all comes down to how the forum is set up and if the forum is well moderated. I think this forum does a good job in being fair to both patients and surgeons.

It depends on what your goals are and what your donor characteristics are as well (for example, if a patient lacks scalp laxity, FUE will be more appropriate). If I had to pick, I'd go with Feller and @Dr Blake Bloxham hands down. They've consistently produced the best results that I've seen, are ethical, have an extensive social media presence showcasing their work, and are very professional and collegial. Their techs have lots of experience as well and they get the most grafts out of a tissue that I've seen as compared to other clinics. Are you looking at FUT or FUE? They're great at both and from the FUT results I've seen, you can't even notice the FUT scar. Get on meds ASAP. Oral finasteride and topical minoxidil. Try to avoid stressors. There are topical solutions of minoxidil and finasteride combined and these topical solutions have been well studied with proven efficacy. The thing is though these solutions aren't available in the US and sourcing them can be problematic and you don't really know what's in the bottle. Keep us posted mate.

Hmmmm. I believe removal of tissue can only be done by a physician. Of all the surgeons I've observed, this has been the case. Techs can place grafts and extract the hair follicles/grafts from the tissue after the surgeon removes the tissue.

No, I don't think amateurs should administer local anesthesia or even epinephrine (too much of epi can cause necrosis of tissue through vasoconstriction). Nurses are allowed to and I think that's completely reasonable. I'm not sure what the rules are about medical assistants though.

Anesthesia can kill you because it can lower your blood pressure a lot (preventing adequate blood perfusion to your organs such your kidneys and brain)...anesthesia can also put you in a coma and has other bad effects. I don't know how it's legal for amateurs to administer anesthesia. When you say anesthesia....are you talking about general anesthesia? Local anesthesia?

Please do not inject these meds under your skin. That's a disaster waiting to happen. There are topical solutions available that you can find online. The question though is are these products you'll find online actually legit. I know there are legit pharmaceutical companies in Asia that have topical solutions of finasteride and minoxidil. Not sure about Europe though.

There really should be recourse for patients who are scammed and physically harmed like this patient was.

Is this available over the counter or do you need a prescription? I know something like this is available over the counter in some Asian countries.

Thanks for sharing Melvin. Is there a link to the study itself? I'm not sure if that increase in hair density is visually noticeable. I've got to look into whether the reuslts are both statistically and clinically significant.

Are you planning on getting a consultation to get a count of the number of hairs that were transplanted?

First, I hope the surgery is successful and you're happy with the results. I suggest you get a consultation with a surgeon recommended on here and they should be able to tell you about how many hairs were taken out and transplanted. Also, it looks like the clinic didn't do a good job cleaning your head based on the photos you've shared.

You won't be seeing needles, blood, or holes. Also, benzodiazepines are very helpful in calming patients down.

You get what you pay for. The better question is are you happy with your results? It's really a long term investment. I'll give an example. A high quality suit will usually run you a lot of money. However, when you consider the opportunity cost, it's a good investment. I think of it as a cost per wear. I'll get much more mileage out of a high quality suit than a mediocre quality suit. In the long run, I'll end up saving money and have peace of mind. Skimping on something as important as this can come back and haunt you because of not being happy with results and having to get more surgeries to repair the prior cheaper surgery. Hopefully it works out for you though.

Good question...I think there is a difference w/in the top 10%. I would pay particular attention to consistency, ethics, patient rapport, and how comfortable you are at that level.
