  1. Thanks for the advice. I switched from 1mg Finasteride to Proscar 1.25mg which my clinic provided a years free supply for. But I’ve always taken it every morning without missing a dose. I may lower the dose to 0.5 and see if that helps. My doctor prescribed me some anti biotics to try and help. It just seems to me my skin has been much worse after a couple of weeks of starting the Finasteride and seems to be getting worse as time goes on.
  2. I need some advice from any of you guys that have taken/still using Finasteride. Does the medication cause a constant inbalance of hormones or will your body adjust to the drug over time? I’ve been on the medication for 4 months now and it’s given me cystic acne. (It’s made my skin worse then when I was a teenager) I take 1.25mg per day but wondering whether lowering the dosage would help? Should I try and ride it out for a few more months and re-consider the medication at 6 months. thanks
  3. Mate that’s a big positive difference and there’s still months ahead for improvement. The side temples finish things off nicely too.
  4. Ok thanks. I’m going to give it a good few months yet. I’ve noticed the same where the side temples have healed pretty quickly.
  5. I hope not! I can’t look any worse then at the moment. Out of interest, how long did you wait before getting your back and sides shaved at the barbers? I only ask as I know you had work on your side temples too. I was maybe going to wait until month 5 before going to the barbers.
  6. Thanks mate, I hope the exciting time is not too far off. It’s affected my social life/confidence massively with having to where a cap everywhere in public since week 4. I think where I’ve never had really short hair on top for many years, (mainly to cover my receding hairline and to make hair look thicker) that hasn’t helped but I knew all of this before getting the transplant done. Just hope it will all be worth in time. I totally agree, I know it’s very early days still but the experience at the clinic was awesome and met lots of great people. If everything goes to plan it would be the only place again for me to go if I need further work some point in the future.
  7. Yes I know, I did see your recent photos. It’s looking awesome. It was looking good anyway but with the longer hair and more density now it looks so good.
  8. Sorry those photos was straight after the 1st day on a Friday. I’ve attached a photo straight after the second day which was on a Monday so by then also included swelling. I had grafts placed quite far back towards the crown and even had a small amount of grafts placed on the top of my head as shown below.
  9. 7 weeks in and I would say 95% of the hairs shed between weeks 3-5. I’ve been applying aloe Vera to the recipient area every night as it’s still pink but better then what it was, but I know the second month is one of the hardest months. I can see new hairs coming through within the past 2 weeks. I’ve also taken a photo of the donor area.
  10. Have you started taking any new supplements in the past 8 weeks? I’ve had a similar issue since the start of the year but I did also introduce a high dose of Biotin and also protein shakes which I’ve stopped now to see if that makes a difference.
  11. Looking good so far. Good luck over the course of the next few months.
  12. 3 weeks tomorrow as my procedure was 2 days split over a Friday and Monday. My hair had receded a lot worse then yours though but we have similar hair thickness. I have made a thread if you get time to have a look.
  13. Ok thank you mate. You’ve still got another 5 months for yours to get even better!
  14. I know my surgery required 250 grafts each side for the temple work.
  15. No worries mate, the hairline looks so natural too. At which month did you find the new hair starting to grow and make a difference? I’m just over 2 weeks now since my procedure at Asmed.
  16. Thank you, if I can get anywhere close to your result I would be absolutely delighted. I’ve been taking fin for 2 months now and ordered a stronger dose of Biotin and MSM which come Wednesday. With regards to the rogaine foam, I’m in 2 minds if I should try this during the ugly duckling phase to try and help with re-growth. I know you mentioned it made a difference to you and thats what’s got me thinking.
  17. Looking very good already but looked great after the 1st procedure 😀
  18. Thank you that would be much appreciated. Must be so nice with not just a great result but also having the freedom to style your hair differently. That’s partly why I went ahead with a HT. Not just for confidence but also hopefully having the ability to push my hair back or styling different. Did you use any supplements after your procedure to try and help growth?
  19. Congratulations mate, fantastic results you must be thrilled, especially looking at before photos. Would you mind sharing your hair thickness?
  20. Ok thanks. Did you just use it for 3 months or up until the 6th mark?
  21. I’ve just checked my pre op instructions and it says you can use the foam 1 month after procedure 😊
  22. Congratulations mate, your results already look amazing at 9 months. Looks so natural too. I would be over the moon if I could get close to your result! I’ve recently had 5015 grafts and similar hair thickness of 55 microns. How long after the procedure did you start the rogaine? Were the clinic ok with you using it?
  23. I’ve just had a procedure at Asmed and can’t speak highly enough about my experience. I personally thought the clinic itself and all staff were amazing and I’m very happy so far even though I’ve got a long way to go. From my consultation I was basically given 2 options for my hairline design with 1000 more grafts needed to bring it slightly lower and to also include side temples which I opted for. Again from my own personal experience, I know one of my team of techs had 15 years experience working with the Doctor.
