  1. Doc has ultra-high-end pricing but I can't disagree with any of his philosophy. Can create a custom plan for now and long-term future. Can't argue with that.
  2. Yea; wait at least one day - wear a sterilized or clean bandanna on flight back and be careful about pressure on your head. If you can wait two days after that is even better. Of course you can fly back the day after surgery but you might be miserable as all get out. Not a fun way to spend 30+ hours door to door, right? With FUE it's better and easier than FUT obviously - but if you are a warrior and can gut it out you can do it but be extremely careful.
  3. I think he's referring to that young singer dude in the Philippines that shills out McGrath's services w/his consultant on youtube. Speegs is spot on 100% w/his analysis - every word of it can be confirmed and verified. The youtube guy is cringeworthy. The guy paints his hair, doesn't take fin or minox (but does do a laser helmet which of course he gets a cut off of if you use his coupon code) and is all about page views and making money off of multiple business income streams. I really detest the guy. Finally, McGrath's own plugs are very old and he should really do a frontal hairline refinement w/a bit more bulk behind it.
  4. He has weak hair characteristics (typical of Indians) so he needs way more total grafts lifetime for significant cosmetic results. As long as he understands this and has the budget - no worries. He'll never have a wow result 'cause I can tell his native hair isn't even that great compared to many men and he'll be a Norwood 7 without transplants and I am willing to bet he is not on Dut or Fin nor is taking high % minox either to stabilize for a number of years. I'm in the same boat w/wimpy 'native' hair. Bloxham is good (I had a 2250 FUT w/Feller in '04) and tends to represent himself well - though w/a bit of his own agenda. We all tend to do that though. Nice post.
  5. I don't do long writeups but I'll do mine now (after 9 months) because I can PERSONALLY vouch for this clinic - they did my 4,500 FUT & 500 FUE in March '17 I am very critical of surgeons that are not up to par and if you real alot of my posts I enjoy challenging the ones that I believe are lazy and behind the times and simply are resting on their laurels. Dr. Soni ain't that kind of guy. What a work ethic and he's a sharp competent artistic very experienced surgeon w/excellent training. He's in his prime in his 40's and although I like to draw out other people's personalities in real life and be a bit provocative - he was completely professional throughout me hanging out w/him and his staff for multiple days. Top-notch German dissecting microscopes, well-trained stable group of 10+ techs and all male surgical staff. Very clean operating theatre w/all modern equipment. The clinic is run like a fine-tuned machine. There is no waste of time and they just get things done and will work late to do proper work (I finished up at 9:30pm after starting around 7 or 7:30am) - but had plenty of breaks for a 5K graft surgery (4.5K FUT & 500 FUE). Very good anesthesia techniques for being cut into for up to 14 hours. A bit of pressure in the last few hours but no real pain. They are good about that and are ready to keep you comfortable. I stayed at his clinic (he lives on the top floor so he is hands-on) for 3 days in a nice room w/food delivered as well. I'm not really a huge fan of India but I was a tourist for 3 weeks before surgery and became a HUGE fan. It's so diverse and interesting. I went there for surgery and to get a high # of grafts w/excellent trichophytic closure techniques and to literally save 75% off USA retail and I was on my way to Hong Kong and Shenzhen China to visit with my best friend for another month or so after my surgery. I could have paid USA retail prices for less grafts in one FUT surgery - but what for? I also researched every major hair surgeon in India and Dr. Soni's techniques/yield/# of grafts in one sitting and training were at the top of the list of a few other well-qualified hair surgeons in India. I know good surgeons, world-class surgeons and have done consultations with at least 10 of them. One of my previous FUT surgeries (2,250) was w/Dr. Feller in 2004 so my surgery in India was definitely well researched. Dr. Soni's wife does excellent cosmetic dentristy on site as well; so a family business if you will. His staff of consultants are really cool as well. Great guys. India guys are so friendly and nice and speak enough English that it was a pleasure hanging at Dr. Soni's clinic for 3 days. It was a bit hot for this white boy though in late March it was already 95 degrees out in Jaipur!! Haha. I'll be going back after 18 months from my surgery. I've lost a great deal of weight since my surgery (I am 6 foot 2 and was 270lbs for my surgery - I'm now under 200lbs and would like to finalize my weight at about 175lbs by end of summer 2018) and feel like I have enough laxity for another FUT surgery and may do a bit more FUE as well. I'll have Dr. Soni evaluate and see what he can do for me in September/October of '18. I'll have him retake photos then (2 month hair grown out pre-surgery to 2 month hair grown out 18 months later) and post them here. I do have extremely fine bone straight low caliber thickness hair so for my German/Swedish hair genetics I require well over 10K grafts and ultimately I'll end up with about 16K (I'm at 8.5K now) to get a result I'm happy with as I make my way into my early 50's and beyond due to every single male member in my family on both sides being Norwood 6 or 7's. I'll finish off my hair transplant journey in late 2019 or early 2020 and max out the rest of my donor w/ 5-6K of FUE's. I am not sure who I will have do my final FUE surgeries but my last small FUE will probably be w/Konior or Hasson or Gabel (500-750 grafts) to perfect and refine the very frontal hairline I want to live with the rest of my life. Then I'll finally get temporary SMP probably from Ahead Hair Ink so I don't have to use Prothik or Dermatch or any fibers. I don't currently use them that often anyway but wouldn't mind the 'shadow' effect to negate the difference in hair to scalp color of my brownish auburn hair against my super white/pale scalp color.
  6. You really did 8000 fue grafts (not total hairs) in 3 days? That's crazy but one way to pretty much do it all at once. It enhanced your already good looks - good on you. Your story is compelling and reads authentic for a guy that cares about his looks but has no control over evil balding! Ciao!
  7. I like this guy Bernstein; always have. It takes balls to be a hair surgeon and stay completely bald and 'own' it. He's conservative w/donor and well read w/nice age-appropriate hairlines. Good pedigree and works in NYC - been in the biz forever. You'll never regret consulting with him is my guess and he's seen it all. Although I think his work is very conservative he gets a very good yield and one can always go back and get more hair to refine and add to previous quality work. Please keep showing your results - good stuff. I use a custom-made 440 diode laser helmet for 13 months now that I added to my existing long-term Dutasteride and 30% minox regimen; I agree with the doctor's laser analysis and treatment protocol.
  8. Well, Consider that Erdogan and Hasson & Wong both do FUE but their technicians are highly trained and do 100% of the surgery now (except for the incision sites). Heck, I don't even think Erdogan does all the incision sites anymore - correct me if I'm wrong. Both those clinics are outside the U.S. and are considered top-tier surgery centers with very very consistent work/yields. It's more of a legal issue in the U.S. w/the doctor being involved in all aspects of the surgery. But most women w/the right training and doctor supervision are better suited for the hand/eye coordination skills of thousands of repetitive tasks per day than men. That being written there are great male techs as well. For a hair tech it's about proper training, being naturally good at it, attention to detail, proper supervision and someone that gives a shit. You won't get that in the hair mills of Turkey nor in clinics that just want to get that cash. A balanced approach is best w/long-term techs that are well compensated and are naturally good at mind-numbing tasks w/a very high attention to detail. Younger people tend to be better at this. Surgery is a team effort and since this is precision-based elective surgery that is HIGHLY visible everyday (vs boob jobs) it is important to choose wisely.
  9. Beehner is a fossil in this industry - he needs to retire already.
  10. Is this a modified 'hockey puck' frontal restoration? With patient using this hairline part (from his left to right) going forward? I like the idea even though it is subtle (which is the point, right)? He gets the assymetrical 'weight' on the right side that then lays down with the way he styles his hair OR Did you symmetrically recreate his frontal hairline?
  11. If you are going to stay on meds like this, probably better to just keep doing what you are doing w/the Dut. It's all one big crap shoot anyways~~
  12. I would just bite the bullet - get a very short haircut or buzz it and move on w/your life. After a few days no one will give a shit. The guys here might have some very good advice for you. http://www.network54.com/Forum/678938 peace...
  13. HA HA! Stop trolling/bullshitting us! Go CUSTOM and spend a month or so here if you want to wear hair. Northwest Lace, LLC - Hair Loss Forum (northwestlace.com)
  14. Great pics & video! Looks like you have fine hair and it is also very straight w/no wave or curl and is also light w/some grey? I've found results can take longer to appear with these characteristics. So, outside of documenting your results - try not to be too obsessive about your hair results in 1st 6 months.
  15. Can Malt Liquor and cigs 'cause bi-polar or are upcoming nuptials turning you into a chick who is hormonal? I can't decide! ; )
  16. Congrats! You just blew out 80% of your donor in one fell swoop. Having family do your plastic surgery is also great judgement! Oh boy...
  17. Study Hasson & Wong 2nd & 3rd surgeries where they dense pack into the hairline and refine the frontal inch of hair in their pics and video comb throughs. You'll see the difference! That's the kind of final result you want (density/angulation/irregularity) with framing your face for your final results. I'll probably go to them when I want my final frontal hairline results after maxing out fut and fue surgeries.
  18. Wait 12-18 months and do another surgery if not enough density. Probably go with someone who dense-packs hairline w/alot of experience. Most U.S. doctors always error on the side of caution in 1st surgery 'cause they want you to get nearly all the grafts to grow. It's okay work - just hard to get desired density in one surgery. Next surgery a good hairline doc can go in between all of the spaces and give the 'appearance' of near normal density.
  19. Fun thread & ultimately informative for all involved. Just goes to show you that even a guy w/minimal thinning and a perfectly natural mature hairline w/no family hairloss is just as neurotic as we all are about our hair. Imagine if we could all just accept hair loss - keep it short and tidy and move forward and realize it is all in our genetics and in the end it doesn't really matter! Nah - that ain't gonna' happen. Hairloss has bothered adult men since probably caveman days.
  20. Hey! I'm just full of hair envy - so ranting against these cases (which I admit are well done) is therapeutic. It's just difficult to see such great initial heads of hair and not be envious of these 'touch/top up' final results. Cheers!
  21. Look at this guy w/dog-hair density! His hair diameter looks very thick and he has a natural wave to his hair as well. This is an easy case. Will be interesting to see how this manual FUE blends into native density in 12-18 months.
  22. I agree - drama! It's 'theatre' & quite entertaining. Baubac is an excellent surgeon and very ethical. This proves it as I always thought Legend007's "vellus" frontal hairs might hold (especially since he is in his late 30's). Also he has NO family history hair loss. Lucky fucker! Legend007- keep smoking your cigs and drinking your malt liqour - that has no effect on you. If you are gonna' lose hair it doesn't matter if you are a drinker or smoker. Genetics are key - unless you are an anorexic girl suffering from short-term hairloss due to malnutrition. I think you would be a person who might want to try a hair laser (for existing hairs to thicken up and strengthen them like many women have decent results from laser- much like PRP w/Acell). Hell, you might be a decent candidate for PRP too. I use a 400+ diode laser from overmachogrande.com but I've had multiple hair transplant surgeries and am just trying to hold onto the very few native hairs I have left in my midscalp and crown. Both these options along w/propecia and/or Avodart/Dudasteride seem best suited for now for your non-urgent hair concerns. Ciao!
  23. Agree - as a long-time balding guy these cases piss me off! But consultants gonna' consult in this forum 'cause a steady stream of non-balding dudes into their clinic is job security. Frankly, I don't believe they should be posting these types of surgery here. But my opinion doesn't matter.
  24. Matt3480, NOT Armani (the person) - the doctor Baubac. So you didn't read my post properly. We all know Armani doesn't do transplants anymore.
