  1. You have a limited amount of grafts in your donor area. Let's say it is 5,000 that you have. You would use 2,500 (half) to make your hairline a NW2 to a NW1. Then in 5 years you'll be mid-late twenties (you've removed your age from the original post now) and your hair will have receded more. You need more than 2,000 for the crown alone, depending on the size/shape of your head. You will have hairy temples and a good hairline and then be bald behind it. You will look stupid. You won't even be nearly 30. If you're concerned then look into the medication and prevent further loss. I would say offering to do 2,500 grafts at your age is unethical. I also wouldn't go anywhere near a UK surgeon. Go to Belgium or Spain. Cheaper and much better quality.
  2. First, don't get one at your age. You'll regret it later. Use the medication - that is exactly what it is for. Secondly, if you must do it go abroad. The surgeons in the UK don't have a good reputation. Look at Wayne Rooney if you want an example. Thirdly, 2,500 grafts is a LOT of your donor area (maybe as much as half depending on your donor site) and you will inevitably need more transplants over the coming years. I think it is a terrible decision.
  3. Can anybody confirm how long you have to avoid the sun for after you have a hair transplant? I have had several answers from several doctors ranging from 2-3 weeks all the way to 12 weeks. I work in tropical countries so this part is the part that is most putting me off the procedure.......
  4. I will do it when I finish my current contract so I when I start my new contract, in a new country, I won't know anybody anyway. I just mean to avoid the ugly part with the weird looking hairs sprouting out in weird places. Surely this looks better with very short hair?
  5. Hi! During the ugly duckling stage, why don't people just shave their heads? This is what I think I will do and would surely mask the problem quite a lot.
  6. Not really. I didn't even know he posted here. I just wanted to see successful examples of FUE with a lot of grafts transplanted
  7. Wow! I didn't expect this. I would appreciate some of the examples of the bad results of Feriduni etc. because these people are on my short list.
  8. Fewer risks overall with numbess etc. there can even be permanent pain. Also, tonight I saw a guy who had done a hair transplant (clearly with a terrible surgeon) and he had a massive scar across the back of his head. I felt sorry for him.
  9. I think your result is amazing! It looks great.
  10. Thanks again! No - this is actually a topic in most top medical schools' ethics classes and is a well-written about theme too. Amen to the second part!
  11. Thanks again for the response. I agree there may be some doctors who allow technicians to do all the work but all of the doctors on my short list show consistently good results and at least 2 do the whole procedure themselves. One of of whom only does 500-700 grafts a day too. 4 use the manual tool too. Given all this, would you still be against FUE over FUT? A top surgeon, with a good reputation and consistently good results? I am yet to look into what you have suggested but I will do before I go for my in-person consultations.
  12. It wasn't my question but they are interesting/helpful points he has raised. Any surgery, necessary or cosmetic, requires that the doctor gives the patient all the information they need to make an informed decision. This is ethical. The thing is, patients aren't doctors so unless we have a medical degree we can't make informed decisions. Even though I didn't want to ignite this debate, it is still helpful to have more information for both me and other forum members (I assume/hope). I plan on visiting several doctors in Europe over the next couple of months. I shall be asking them about this too now.
  13. @Dr. Alan Feller - Thanks for the reply. I didn't know you posted on here too. Shame you're not based in Europe. What you say makes sense and I will look into it/investigate, especially for my shortlist of doctors. I would ask what your response would be to @HTsoon who says it is a difference with progressiveness between European doctors and their American counterparts? I am not sure I believe that to be the case because you said in your videos that you have about 12 (+/-) years of experience with FUE. However, his hair looks amazing with 5,300 grafts all done by FUE as does the next poster, @Mick50, with 4,200 grafts also done by FUE.
  14. Hi! I have been watching Youtube videos produced by Doctors Feller and Bloxham this evening. I found them very informative and I also appreciate Dr Bloxham's comments on this site. However, I was quite taken back when I heard how against FUE they are. I was all set for FUE and now I am starting to have, at least some, reservations. I do not want to start an FUT vs FUE debate but I would like to know if anybody has had a successful (series of) hair transplant(s) with just FUE i.e. several thousand grafts (5,000+, maybe) or how common this type of patient/case is? Thanks
  15. Hi! I already emailed pictures earlier in the week with some questions and I am awaiting the reply.
  16. I don't think you do at all. I honestly think (no pun intended) it is all in your head.
  17. Yeah just looking at some of his other hairlines - they're really good! I have sent him an email and some pics and requested a consultation. Let's hope he is interested in me if he cherry picks. Thanks again.
  18. Thanks for the reply. I may get in touch with Lupanzula to visit them too. I will debate Keser as I love the fact that they do everything themselves (this is also why I will be visiting de Reys). I may look at flights to Turkey for a consultation....
  19. Thanks for your reply. I wouldn't go to Turkey as it is unregulated, irrespective of how good a reputation the surgeon has. I should have stipulated that I also don't want to wait for 3 years either which rules out the first 2 (I have been in touch with them). I am glad Feriduni has a reputation for hairlines as he is one of the ones I am visiting in Belgium. Not heard of Lupanzula. Where is s/he from?
  20. Hello everybody. Who would you say are the top few surgeons in Europe for hairlines? I am going to Belgium in a few weeks to speak to a 2 surgeons there but I may visit some others upon recommendation.
  21. Yeah - have you got any pics now the procedure has been a year?
  22. Hmmm not sure. It doesn't cause hair growth in men though, it just reduces hair loss which is different. Maybe it is the interaction of testosterone (higher in men) with the progesterone and the ratios between the two?
